UPDATE: Pledging Allegiance Hoax Confirmed

UPDATE: Pledge of Allegiance in Las Vegas School finally confirmed as a hoax. It's just not true folks. Mosey along nothing to see here.

Note to self: This is the second time you've fallen for a story you wanted to believe. From now on, verify, verify, verify. Thank you to those I talked with to find out the facts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
UPDATE: After getting a comment from a reader about the veracity of this Internet-wide story, I researched deeper and found out this isn't the first time that the Clark County School District has had an incident over the Pledge of Allegiance.
I've talked to California-based NewsBlaze editor Alan Gray who reported the story of the parents who are upset over their children pledging "allegiance" to Obama in certain classrooms. Gray was unable to confirm names of parents or the school, but said he had contacted the Clark County School District and they did not know where the incident occurred or if it did occur. I have more feelers out there. Stay tuned. This may turn out to be a hoax.
~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm completely coming unglued over this one. Red County is reporting:

Eight days after Obama's coronation, an elementary school in Las Vegas is forcing students to pledge allegiance to Obama and our flag.

At least three of the five classrooms have an overhead projector and as the children stand to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, the teacher turns on the classroom overhead and a full body image of Obama, with six U.S. flags behind him, comes up about 4 feet away from the flag that hangs on the wall. The screen is apparently around five feet by six feet.

In the image, President Obama appears to be staring straight out with no facial expression, just a serious look. All of the kids in each class faced the President, instead of the flag that hangs in the corner.

These state teachers need to be placed on suspension and a message sent out that this type of indoctrination is wrong. Parents need to prepare and warn their children about this type of socialist tactics.

Obama needs to call the Secretary of Education and demand this type of communist behavior has to stop. Nip this in the bud right now.

Teacher Placed On Suspension For Indoctrinating Students.

Majority Of People Want To See Reagan's Policies Back

Rasmussen polls this week are reporting that a majority of American (56%) voters want to see Reagan economics back in power. That's not 56% of Republicans but American voters, both Republicans and Democrats. When polled, 85% of Republicans feel that implementing Reagan policies would lead the United States back to successful times.

To everything turn, turn, turn. There is a season, turn turn turn.

Politics is cyclic. Seems there could be more conservatives than liberals.

Obama's First 10 Days = Broken Promises 1 & 2

Not appearing in any American drive-by media newspapers or liberal network news, but reported by bloggers, the India Daily and the Free Republic, that Obama's first broken promise: Lobbyists will not find a job in the White House. Oops, Obama be bad... he's appointed more than 17 lobbyists to his administration so far.

His second broken promise came promptly a few days later when he signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. Applauded by power red and blacksuits of Obamites and O-bots, the cool and smooth Obama first law passed went completely against his promise and policy for transparency.

Obama's campaign rhetoric stated publically over and over again that he would bring transparency to the White House by allowing the public to look at any bills 5 days before signing them. He didn't do that with the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. He signed it with no public input whatsoever.

Will "liar, liar, pants on fire" be the Obama Administration's motto for the next four years?

Compassionate Hamas Uses Families As Human Shields

Those poor Palestinian terrorists. Being bombed by Israel is just not right. So Hamas just has to resort to desperate solutions, such as taking over the homes of families and using parents and children as human shields. It's not their fault, Israel is attacking them.

Another Science Discovery Makes Fetus Stem Cells Unnecessary

Free Republic is reporting that the University of Pennsylvania have found that stem cells from the esophagus tissue from mice can successfully be used to create new tissues in immune-deficient mice.
"The immediate implication is that we'll have a better understanding of the role of these stem cells in normal biology, as well as in regenerative and cancer biology," says senior author Anil Rustgi. "Down the road, we might use these stem cells in replacement therapy for diseases like gastroesophogeal reflux disease (GERD) and also to understand Barrett's esophagus, a precursor to esophageal adenocarcinoma and how to reverse that before it becomes cancer."

The researchers set out to identify and characterize potential stem cells -- those with the ability to self renew -- in the esophagus to understand normal biology and how injured cells may one day be repaired.
Since there is so much information from scientists and doctors that fetus stem cells don't work and adult stem cells do, does this mean that Democrats, celebretards, and liberals will stop campaigning to keep abortion legal so that they can kill babies to harvest their stem cells?

No, the left-wing wants to keep murder legal.

Standing Ovation At First Appearance Of Former President Bush

He is loved.

Leave A Message - Nobody's Home

So much for all the preparation and time the Obama pre-inauguration staff spent on being up and ready to work on Inauguration Day. Obama's promise of transparency is now a moot subject. Don Irvine, Accuracy in Media Chairman, and Top Conservative on Twitter (TCOT) provides insight from David Cay Johnston with the Columbian Journalism Review into Obama's campaign rhetoric implosion.
This might be the simply the problems of a new administration struggling to cope with a flood of calls and perhaps the complex machinery of the modern office. But it might also indicate that President Obama’s messages about open government have not reached press secretary Robert Gibbs and his staff.

While it is too early to judge just how this will work out, the early signs are troubling. And interviews with a dozen Washington reporters indicate that the Obama press operation tends to embrace friendly questions, while treating skeptical questions as not worth their time or, worse, as coming from an enemy.

I have called 202-456-2580, the main number for the White House press office, going back to the Nixon administration. Never has anyone in the press office declined to spell his name, give his job title, or hung up, even after the kind of aggressive exchanges that used to be common between journalists and flacks—and between journalists and high government officials, for that matter.
Office machinery is complex? What about all the experts being hired? So much for all the hoopla about "Change" and how the Obama administration was not going to be the inept, unprepared, confused, secretive, as the Bush administration. Obama can't even find his way into the White House and the drive-by media doesn't say a word.

Obama Administration: Abortion Good, Adoption Bad

Brian Darling, Red State reporting that Obama will be appointing David Ogden as Deputy Attorney General. Another pro-abortion advocate, David Ogden will be an effective tool for Obama to make abortions a necessity of having a good life vs giving birth will which mean women having a life of woe. Darling says:
On March 6, 1992, Attorney David Ogden signed an amicus brief for the American Psychology Association in Planned Parenthood v Casey, 505 U.S. 833 (1992), arguing:

From Page 23 of Ogden Brief submitted in Casey:

It is grossly misleading to tell a woman that abortion imposes possible detrimental psychological effects when the risks are negligible in most cases, when the evidence shows that she is more likely to experience feelings of relief and happiness, and when child-birth and child-rearing or adoption may pose concomitant (if not greater) risks of adverse psychological effects for some women depending on their individual circumstances.

Obama has made it clear to Planned Parenthood that he will protect abortion (not children) and that he feels that having children is a punishment. Make your voice heard to Obama. Tell Congress and Obama NO on naming David Ogden to Deputy Attorney General.

Want Proof RINO's Exist? Here You Go!

RINO's are the reason why Republicans lost the election... that and the Bush's Administration domestic policies.

Michelle Malkin's late night reports on the Republicans who voted tonight with Democrats on the bloated S-Chip expansion.

The Nine RINO's are (drumroll and Taps playing in the background):

  • Alexander, TN

  • Collins, ME

  • Corker, TN (what's up with TN Republicans?)

  • Hutchieson, TX (Bush's state, no wonder)

  • Lugar, IN

  • Martinez, FL (I'm glad he's leaving - We need to elect a conservative Hispanic! I told Martinez's office he was worthless)

  • Murkowski, AK

  • Snowe, ME (No surprise there - a definite Obama RINO)

  • Specter, PA (Another no-brainer... really no brains)

The RNC and these RINO's need to be put on notice that there will be no monies donated to their resurrection campaigns. They should be DOA when they knock on Republican doors.

Which Republicans side with Obama on issues? Five Thirty Eight provides a quick chart. Click on graphic to enlarge.

Make Your Voice Heard!

Obama's spending package has got some problems with it. Mainstream America can't let this debacle go through. If you're asking why? Here's four of trillion dollars of reasons:
  • $300,000 for tennis court improvements
  • $1.500,000 for golf course club house and maintenance shed
  • $750,000 for a skateboarding park
  • $6,000,000 (yes, SIX MILLION DOLLARS) for a snow-making facility (no doubt because of global warming and climate change)

The solution is to tell Congress what you think of them and their high and mighty ivory tower solutions.

Whether you're Republican, Democrat, liberal or conservative, if you have been asking yourself "How can I make a difference?" Here's your chance. Congress's website OpenCongress gives you an opportunity to contact your politician, vote on bills in front of Congress, and keep an eye on your Congressmen's votes.

Everyone on Twitter needs to join and VOTE! Liberals outweigh Conservatives on the Congressional site!

You do need to sign up (don't moan, Toccatamundi) but it's free and painless! Don't be apathetic!

Enough Said

British Hospital Staff Spooked By Ghost

The hospital staff complained so much about the shadowy cloaked figure roaming the wards, that the administration has contacted church authorities who have called in an exorcist.
“Several have seen a male figure cloaked from head to toe in black darting between rooms and through walls – especially in departments near the morgue.

“It’s affected morale so much that bosses decided they had to act.” Exorcisms in England must be pre-approved by a bishop.

A spokesman for the Bishop of Derby said: “Any case such as this is put to the Bishop.

“He would seek proper advice before taking action.”

Experts said the spirit could be the ghost of a Roman soldier killed on the spot where the original hospital was built in the 1920s. Developers ignored protests and covered over part of one of Ancient Britain’s main Roman roads.

The hauntings have been experienced at the Shardlow Hospital since 2005. Work gangs were scared during the demolishing of the original building.

Liberals Show Their True Evil

When I get hate mail, I don't publish it because it's not worthy - it's puerile, lacks creativity, and just spews ignorance. Now Michelle - she gets GREAT hate mail. She is truly a role model for bloggers and "walking through the valley of death" and "into the lion's den" (more like stupid kittis) every day with your convictions.

Take a look at how vile the left side can be, then watch Michelle on FOX News and see her as a great conservative spokesperson!

Gitmo Judge Tells Obama Administration To Get Real

Judge James Pohl, Army Colonel, has denied the Obama administration order to stop the trial of alleged USS Cole terrorist attacker, Abd al Rahim al-Nashiriat the Guantanamo base.
But Pohl said he found the government's reasoning "unpersuasive" and he clearly felt he was not bound to bow to the administration's wishes.
Now, that's ballsy.

Pelosi Don't Need No Stinkin' Republicans

Despite her adamant bipartisan affirmations last year, Nancy Pelosi knows exactly what her liberal lapdogs want and need.
“I didn’t come here to be partisan, I didn’t come here to be bipartisan,” Pelosi told reporters at her weekly press conference. “I came here, as did my colleagues, to be nonpartisan, to work for the American people, to do what is in their interest.”

But that's not what she said before the elections:

"Elect us, hold us accountable, and make a judgment and then go from there. But I do tell you that if the Democrats win, and have substantial majorities, Congress of the United States will be more bipartisan," said Pelosi.

Liar, liar, pants on fire.

Google Bias Against Sarah Palin

Google's blatant liberal bias has been documented by many conservative outlets, including Michelle Malkin, Little Green Footballs, and Sma' Talk wi' T.

I tried to find Sarah Palin's support group Women for Sarah Palin by Googling. You would think that it would be the first link to come up, right? No, Women AGAINST Sarah Palin comes up first. How does that happen?

Obama Celebrates Pulling Wool Over Liberals Eyes By Partying

How did your president spend the night during this economic collapse? Michelle Malkin reports that Obama was so happy that his spending package debacle passed the House (without Republican support) that he spent your tax dollars buying wagyu steak and drinking vodka martinis.
On the heels of the most expensive inaugural celebration in American history and passage of a trillion-dollar spending binge that will saddle future generations with unprecedented debt, perhaps President Obama might consider cutting back on such indulgences.
So much for everybody doing their share of cutting costs. Obama mantra: "Don't do as I do, do as I say."

I guess times are going to get worse for everybody but Obama.
"Historically, what has always brought us through hard times is that national character, that sense of optimism, that willingness to look forward, that sense that better days are ahead," Obama said. "I think that our art and our culture, our science, that's the essence of what makes America special. And we want to project that as much as possible in the White House."
Obama is keeping his promises. Happy days are here again!

What A Real Stimulus Plan Looks Like

All American Blogger has posted a WSJ column from Rush Limbaugh on what Congress and Obama should be implementing.
I say, cut the U.S. corporate tax rate -- at 35%, among the highest of all industrialized nations -- in half. Suspend the capital gains tax for a year to incentivize new investment, after which it would be reimposed at 10%. Then get out of the way! Once Wall Street starts ticking up 500 points a day, the rest of the private sector will follow. There's no reason to tell the American people their future is bleak. There's no reason, as the administration is doing, to depress their hopes. There's no reason to insist that recovery can't happen quickly, because it can.

In this new era of responsibility, let's use both Keynesians and supply-siders to responsibly determine which theory best stimulates our economy -- and if elements of both work, so much the better. The American people are made up of Republicans, Democrats, independents and moderates, but our economy doesn't know the difference. This is about jobs now.
Why isn't this even being discussed? Why aren't the economic experts (not Democrat cronies and lobbyists)being consulted?

An Open Thank You Letter To The Republicans

Dear Senator Demint and all the House Republicans:

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for standing together as one voice who listened to your constituents and our pleas to do the right thing. You voted our voice to not be a part of this pork debacle. You have given me great hope and as long as we can continue this fight for the next four years and bring Republicans back to their conservative values, I will be right there with you. Fighting the good fight.

We can't let the Democrats force us into a socialistic government that takes our very soul away.

Thank you for not being bipartisan, not compromising our hopes and dreams. Thank you from myself, and for my children, and for my grandchildren, and for my great-grandchildren's future.

I am so proud of each and every one of you. Please keep it up.

Please continue to listen to Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Malkin, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham and all the rest of the conservative Talk Radio. They speak for us.

Thank you so much. I have hope again. For now. Please feel free to ask me what I need you to do. I'm going to be forthcoming in helping you turn this country around. It's our country. We need you to protect it.

Sincerely,

T.

Protestants Disrupt Northern Ireland Talks

The peaceful valleys and glens of Northern Ireland are back to their bitter fighting.
Protestant hard-liners disrupted a Belfast news conference Wednesday called to unveil — and sell to a skeptical public — the 18-month efforts of former Anglican Archbishop Robin Eames and former Catholic priest Denis Bradley.

As they prepared to speak, Protestant hard-liners jumped up from the crowd to hurl insults and condemnations — both at the two men and other audience members linked to the outlawed Irish Republican Army. The hecklers included men and women who lost relatives or were maimed in IRA attacks.

"My brother was an innocent man defending this whole community," said one protester, Hazlett Lynch, whose policeman brother was killed in a 1977 IRA ambush. "When IRA men died while launching cowardly attacks on this community, they actually received justice. The families of those murderers should not be consoled with a single penny today."

Their fury focused on an Eames-Bradley commitment to paying the nearest relatives of all 3,700 dead from the conflict about $17,000 each. The two former churchmen insisted that all families who lost loved ones deserve equal support — but once the anger had ebbed, Eames offered a qualified apology.
So much for "former" men of the cloth's efforts to keep the peace. The centuries of generational anger and bitter hatred is not going to go away so easily.

Northern Ireland and Ireland need to be joined. The Brits need to leave the now Catholic-majority counties.

ATM's Being Blown Up In UK

The article just says "another" not how many.
Officers were called to Dora Street at Morisset about 3.15am (AEDT) today following reports of an explosion.

"Both the single ATM and the vacant shop it is housed within, were seriously damaged," police said.

"No one was injured and it is not yet known whether cash was taken."

A police strike force investigating a string of attacks on ATMs across NSW is looking into the latest incident.

UPDATE: Republican Politicians Twitter With Conservatism Revival?

UPDATE: Senator Jim Demint [R-SC] wants conservatives to communicate with Twitter.

We'll be using Twitter to spread our conservative message across the US. We'd appreciate it if you'd ask your friends to follow @jimdemint 5:29 PM Jan 24th from TwitterFox.

Senator Jim Demint - South Carolina.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Hill is reporting that 29 Republican Congressman use Twitter during their meeting with Obama. That's good news because that means we can communicate with them!
There could be no clearer demonstration of the way politics has moved into an age in which technology trumps formality.
While Obama implored Republicans behind closed doors to consider supporting his economic stimulus bill, GOP thumbs worked overtime, tapping updates onto the microblogging website for thousands to read.
“Impressive,” Rep. Bob Inglis (R-S.C.) remarked, before noting that everyone in the room — Obama and Republicans included — expressed “deep concern about unemployment.”
“There’s real desire in this room to figure a way back to prosperity,” Inglis wrote on his Twitter page.
Others were quick to point out the sharp differences on the stimulus package.
Obama had “not much luck [because] we know tax cuts [equal] better and quicker,” Tweeted Rep. John Culberson (R-Texas), one of the most frequent Twitter and new-media users in the House.
Twitter allows users to share websites and opinions or interact with other users in 140 characters or fewer. The site has caught on with media-savvy lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, who routinely check in from locations as varied as constituent breakfasts in their districts and the floor of the House during a vote.
“If [the] President carries this on it does open door for a new tone!” Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-Mich.) exclaimed.
“Sharp differences are muted,” Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Texas) Twittered.
The Republicans commended Obama throughout the meeting, but were quick to note their continued disagreement with the president and the House Democratic leadership after conservative blogs pounced on the friendly rhetoric. (Pundit Michelle Malkin, a frequent Twitter user herself, directed a message toward Burgess during the meeting: “You Tweeted during Obama [meeting]: ‘Sharp differences are muted.’ That’s exactly what’s wrong [with] the Republican Party!”)
“President Obama is speaking to House Republicans right now on Democratic stimulus bill,” wrote Rep. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) on Twitter. “Good sales man, bad product.”
The Audacity of Pro-Abortion Democrats
Jeff Emmanuel with Red State has a great post on the Doug Kmiec bending over backwards to prove to the Vatican that the pro-abortion (so his daughters aren't punished with a baby) Obama is a pro-life Democrat.
Pepperdine University law professor Doug Kmiec, a pro-life advocate of President Barack Obama’s election, has stated that he thinks he will be considered as a choice for U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See. The President is nowhere close to determining such things because of the order of events … everyone’s first order of business is economic recovery,” Kmiec said. “At the appropriate time, when diplomatic relations through the State Department need to be addressed, I think my name would be part of the discussion.”
There is no way Obama is pro-life and I cannot believe that the Vatican would accept Doug Kmiec's ambassadorship to the Vatican.
This morning, watching my new 18-week old baby granddaughter's heart beat, fingers move, her body turning, and yet she has to wait till June for her birthday to breathe the air, I find it heinous that anyone be pro-abortion.
20 Facts About The Stimulus Package You Need To Know
Freedomworks has the facts about the stimulus package that all conservatives should hammer their Congressman's office with. Here's 1 - 5.
1. The $825 billion package slated for a House vote later this week will exceed more than $1.1 trillion when adding in the interest ($300 plus billion) between 2009-2019 to pay for it.
2. The Capitol Hill Democrats’ plan includes funding for contraceptives; regardless of where anyone stands on taxpayer funded contraception, there is no question that it has NOTHING to do with the economy.
3. The legislation could open billions of taxpayer dollars to left-wing groups like the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), which has been accused of voter fraud, is reportedly under federal investigation; and played a key role in the housing meltdown.
4. Here are just a few of the programs and projects that have been included in the House Democrats’ proposal:
· $650 million for digital TV coupons.
· $600 million for new cars for the federal government.
· $6 billion for colleges/universities – many which have billion dollar endowments.
· $50 million in funding for the National Endowment of the Arts.
· $44 million for repairs to U.S. Department of Agriculture headquarters.
· $200 million for the National Mall, including $21 million for sod.
Read the rest here. No way should this bill pass! Call, email, wire, write, and Twitter your Congressperson.
The Republican GOP Can't Do It - It's Up To Grassroots
Over the last four years, the Republican party leadership has melted into the Little Lord Fauntleroy Club of Wussy Men For Socialism. Compassionate Conservative has become a metaphor for liberal Republicans who want to be liked so much by the bad-for-the-economy-boy Democrats. Republicans who straddled the fence so much they've lost their cajones.
I have been angry, emotional, rationally judgemental, shocked, disgusted and gob-smacked at the ludicrous attempts of Republicans to embarrass their constituents by acting like free-spending, victimizing, "free-for-all-but-the-rich" liberals.
I have been ashamed of the Republican leadership for the last eight years who had the nerve to send me constant requests for money to "our" cause to save our country from the throes of liberalism and used it to vote Democrat.
Not anymore. Not a penny more to Republicans until they get their heads out of their asses.
From now on, I am going to be more vocal in contacting my representatives in Congress. I am going to voice my opinion stronger and louder to protect my rights and denounce liberal efforts to socialize this country.
I want to stop this hypocritical and blatant partisanship administration from condemning our United States to a global economy that puts us at the bottom rather than as a leader of the free world and capitalism.
I want to stop the bloody and deadly war against prosperity where the casualty rate could be as high as 2.5 million lives.
In this effort, we need to reach out to all the disenfranchised Republicans, conservatives, and libertarians to boldly go where Republican leadership won't go: Door to door, computer to computer, telephone to telephone, friend to friend, family to family. We need to demand that Republican politicians vote as we ask them to vote and lead as we ask them to lead.
We want Republicans to say to Democrats who tell us not to listen to conservative leadership: We will listen to Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Michelle Malkin, Laura Ingraham.
We will not ask for compromise, we've compromised too long. It's why we lost the election. We will look to conservative leadership from Rush Limbaugh to Glenn Beck to Michelle Malkin to Laura Ingraham to Sean Hannity to Newt Gingrich to Ronald Reagan, all the way back to our founding fathers.
Communication is necessary. Fortify and support our causes with facts and resources.
You have a voice - Speak up!
The Internet and religious cult fervor without specifics is how we lost - Let's bring back our freedoms by winning through our freedom of communication to bring back conservatism.
Glenn Beck promised tonight to prove to us that there are more conservatives than liberals in this country. Let's show him how.
Big Clue As To Why Detroit Is Democratic Bastion
Heard from a Detroit caller on Rush Limbaugh today: There's no mystery why Detroit is the worst economically-depressed city in the United States. It has the highest unemployment, highest foreclosure rates, and the highest violent crime rate. It only has a 47% functional illiteracy rate. That explains a lot.
Detroit has never had Republican leadership.
Marie Antoinette Tree Succumbs To Similar Fate As Namesake
The 223-year old tree survived the French Revolution unlike it's original landowner, Marie Antoinette. Planted in 1786 at the Versailles Palace, the 82' tall beech tree was pushed over by a windstorm this last week.
The 82-foot high purple beech, one of the last trees in a hamlet dedicated to the former queen in the vast palace park, was felled Friday by an unusually fierce winter gust, the park's head gardener said.
"Imagine how an old tree in Versailles is vulnerable to the wind," gardener Alain Baraton told AP Television News on Tuesday. "That was all it took to cause the tree to fall and crash."
At least 21 people died in the winter storm that pounded France and Spain last week.
The 223-year-old tree's collapse, which also exhumed a jumble of roots, earth and grass, was the latest blow to the ex-queen's Versailles vegetation after her most cherished oak tree died in a 2003 heat wave.
It had suffered other wind related damages over the last decade, and this gust of wind ultimately was the last straw.
Octuplets Born Kicking And Screaming In California
UPDATE: Just thought of this: How many legs does an octuplet have?
Happening only twice in the world, eight little babies were born alive and well to parents in California.
The mother, who was not identified, gave birth to six boys and two girls weighing between 1.8 pounds and 3.4 pounds, doctors at Kaiser Permanante hospital told KCAL9.
"It's a surprise," Dr. Karen Maples said. "Eight newborns are in stable condition and they're doing quite well."
Kaiser spokeswoman Myra Suarez said she could not release any information about the mother, including her condition or whether she used fertility drugs. Such drugs make multiple births more likely.
"They are all doing the best they can," Suarez told the AP.
I'd be kicking and screaming too if I found out I had to live in California.
Clinton Fronted Obama Administration & Free Speech Intolerance
Let's not forget that Obama's Administration is full of Clintonites. Let's not mention that Obama wants to silence Rush Limbaugh. With the hint of an Democrat presidential victory seemed evident, the rumors of the Unfairness Doctrine being revived made liberals giddy. Let's just say that the only ones allowed to talk in this country are liberals and socialists.
What's next? Policies to shut up right-wing conservatives?
Seems so. Newsbusters is reporting the move to shut up talk show hosts Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, and conservative outspoken Townhall columnist and blogger, Michelle Malkin, are bubbling in the cauldron of evil Clinton minion Robert Reich.
In a front-page article, the Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano reaffirmed that Pope Benedict XVI deplored all forms of anti-Semitism and that all Roman Catholics must do the same.
The article was issued amid an outcry from Jewish groups that Benedict last week lifted the excommunication of a traditionalist bishop, Richard Williamson, who has denied that 6 million Jews were murdered during World War II.
The Vatican has stressed that that removing the excommunication by no means implied the Vatican shared Williamson's views.
The Vatican stated that Williamson's views violate Church's teachings. Then, pray tell me... why allow him to continue to be a bishop with full faculties? Are Williamson's outspoken and inhumane viewpoints worse than men who see nothing wrong with women becoming priests and women excommunicated for wanting to serve the Lord?
Germany is now investigating Bishop Williamson for violating German law which makes it a criminal offense to deny the Holocaust. Nice. Talk about war crimes.
Drive By Media Finds Conservatives Hard To Work With
New York Slimes has ended their collaboration with Bill Kristol, conservative columnist, Editor of The Weekly Standard, and author.
Hmmm, CNN loses Glenn Beck to Fox and NY Slimes fires Bill Kristol. How does that fit in with Obama's plan to save jobs in this volatile economy?
Who Saw This Coming?
A more gentler and kinder administration will be more favorable to terrorist trials.
RICHMOND, Va. — A lawyer for Zacarias Moussaoui told a federal appeals court in Virginia that the Sept. 11 conspirator should get a new trial.
Moussaoui was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to helping plan the 2001 terrorist attacks. His case is before the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
Moussaoui's lawyer, Justin Antonipillai told a three-judge panel Monday that the plea should be thrown out because the government didn't turn over evidence that could have aided the defense. Justice Department attorney Kevin Gingras argued Moussaoui knew the information existed but pleaded guilty anyway.
Let's go ahead and just bypass the trial and pardon Moussaoui because he didn't martyr himself like the other terrorists who died on September 11, 2001. He's had to live these last seven and a half years with the pain that he is a failure as a Muslim martyr. He doesn't deserve to be punished anymore. I can hear the lunatic liberals now: "Keep Ramos and Compean in Prison. Free Moussaoui."
President OBOMBA Goes Unnoticed
I'm not surprised that the liberal whackos are completely unaware that one of Obama's first moves was to approve military bombing against Pakistan villages killing women and children. Liberals don't know because the left didn't make hay out of it unlike their Bush-Derangement Syndrome attacks.
Michelle Malkin posts the London Times' article on the bombing attacks. Michelle's blog has more insight into it but also the most common sense responses from intelligent, thinking, readers.
Reader John has a few questions: “Where are the anti-war liberals? Where are the baby-killer signs? Why [aren't] the major media networks showing pictures of dead children as a result of Pres. Obama’s air strike?”
Check out Flyovertime, American Elephant, and Salt's comments on Michelle's post. Brilliant.
Can we now call him President OBOMBA?
Rush Limbaugh Responds To Obama
Byron York, a National Review columnist and author, was the only reporter to ask Rush Limbaugh's response to Obama's insecure and misleading attack against him. The wimpy and unconservative Republicans didn't listen to Rush Limbaugh. That's why they lost the election.
Rush's response is very insightful regarding Obama's strategy for implementing socialism into America's government.
There are two things going on here. One prong of the Great Unifier's plan is to isolate elected Republicans from their voters and supporters by making the argument about me and not about his plan. He is hoping that these Republicans will also publicly denounce me and thus marginalize me. And who knows? Are ideological and philosophical ties enough to keep the GOP loyal to their voters? Meanwhile, the effort to foist all blame for this mess on the private sector continues unabated when most of the blame for this current debacle can be laid at the feet of the Congress and a couple of former presidents. And there is a strategic reason for this.
Secondly, here is a combo quote from the meeting:
"If we don't get this done we (the Democrats) could lose seats and I could lose re-election. But we can't let people like Rush Limbaugh stall this. That's how things don't get done in this town."
To make the argument about me instead of his plan makes sense from his perspective. Obama's plan would buy votes for the Democrat Party, in the same way FDR's New Deal established majority power for 50 years of Democrat rule, and it would also simultaneously seriously damage any hope of future tax cuts. It would allow a majority of American voters to guarantee no taxes for themselves going forward. It would burden the private sector and put the public sector in permanent and firm control of the economy. Put simply, I believe his stimulus is aimed at re-establishing "eternal" power for the Democrat Party rather than stimulating the economy because anyone with a brain knows this is NOT how you stimulate the economy. If I can be made to serve as a distraction, then there is that much less time debating the merits of this TRILLION dollar debacle.
Obama was angry that Merrill Lynch used $1.2 million of TARP money to remodel an executive suite. Excuse me, but didn't Merrill have to hire a decorator and contractor? Didn't they have to buy the new furnishings? What's the difference in that and Merrill loaning that money to a decorator, contractor and goods supplier to remodel Warren Buffet's office? Either way, stimulus in the private sector occurs. Are we really at the point where the bad PR of Merrill getting a redecorated office in the process is reason to smear them? How much money will the Obamas spend redecorating the White House residence? Whose money will be spent? I have no problem with the Obamas redoing the place. It is tradition. 600 private jets flown by rich Democrats flew into the Inauguration. That's fine but the auto execs using theirs is a crime? In both instances, the people on those jets arrived in Washington wanting something from Washington, not just good will.
If I can be made to serve as a distraction, then there is that much less time debating the merits of the trillion dollar debacle.
One more thing, Byron. Your publication and website have documented Obama's ties to the teachings of Saul Alinksy while he was community organizing in Chicago. Here is Rule 13 of Alinksy's Rules for Radicals:
"Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it."
Rush Limbaugh and his values is what the Republicans should be listening to in gaining back Congress leadership. I'm afraid that if Republicans don't stop being cowardly in their admonishments against the socialist policies of the Democrats, they will become as extinct as the Whigs.
The Sun Is Setting On British Economy
The British economy is going even deeper into despair and doom. The scary part is that the British government has spent even more money than the US is planning to with the TARP's and government loans. Obama and Congress need to take heed. Giving banks taxpayer's money isn't the solution. The Investors Business Daily is reporting the grave concerns.
But Britain's ills hold some lessons for the U.S. Believe it or not, Britain has outspent the U.S. in trying to get its economy back on its feet. It has put more capital, as a share of its economy, into its banks. And it's spent lavishly on Keynesian stimulus. It hasn't worked.
Now, it's talking about nationalizing its banks. But this won't work either, and the U.S. would do well not to emulate its British cousins overseas.
Nationalizing the banks might preserve them, but it will lead to a skewed, government-directed allocation of capital. Politicized loans will become the norm. Those who aren't popular or connected — which describes, by the way, many entrepreneurs — will not get loans.
This is already happening in the U.S. with the TARP program. As the Wall Street Journal noted in a news analysis of TARP, "some powerful politicians have used their leverage to try to direct federal millions toward banks in their home states."
Just imagine these banks being nationalized.
Britain, and for that matter the U.S., would be far better off doing something along the lines of the Resolution Trust Corp. The U.S. formed the RTC in the early 1990s to buy bad assets from hundreds of troubled banks, then sell them on the market.
It worked. Banks cleaned their balance sheets, and began lending again. The system was saved.
The Villages - Florida's Friendliest Hometown or Sin City?
Being touted in nationwide commercials, The Villages in north Central Florida is the retirement version of the original sin city, Las Vegas.
Though The Villages — which spans three counties with 40,000 homes and more than 70,000 residents — boasts 34 golf courses, nine country clubs, two downtown squares and a slew of restaurants and bars, getting lucky is one of the residents' primary pastimes.
The huge complex began growing rapidly in the mid-1990s, and reported cases of gonorrhea rocketed from 152 to 245, of syphilis rose from 17 to 33, and of chlamydia from 52 to 115 among those 55 and older in Florida from 1995 to 2005.
The state's sexually transmitted disease rate among those over 65 is one of the fastest growing in the country, one report claims.
In 2006, a local gynecologist reported that she treated more cases of herpes and human papillomavirus at The Villages than she did when she worked in Miami.
Anti-Semitic Network Target Israel With Lies
Chatting (really arguing) with lunatic fringe liberals about the Israeli-Hamas conflict, I was stunned to hear their terrorist-apologist rhetoric that Israel was using banned weapons to defend themselves. I couldn't believe that somebody would be so stupid as to think a country so blatantly hated as Israel would leave themselves open to anti-Semitic United Nations retaliation for war crimes. I hadn't heard or read the charges that Israel had illegally used banned weapons. Now I know why the liberals believe this rhetoric. CBS has broadcast the illegal allegations as news.
On Thursday’s CBS Evening News, Katie Couric incorrectly called one of the munitions reportedly used by the Israeli military a "banned weapon," and, after ignoring numerous violations of international law perpetrated by Hamas, relayed charges that Israel may have committed "war crimes." Referring to Israel’s alleged use of white phosphorus in Gaza, Couric introduced the report: "Hamas gave a thumbs-down to President Obama today, saying his Middle East policy is no different from President Bush's. Hamas just ended a bloody war with Israel in Gaza, and tonight there is growing evidence the Israelis may have used a banned weapon. Some even accuse them of war crimes."
Newsbusters has the script and video evidence. CBS should be charged with treason and abetting the enemy. Hamas terrorists are the ones using the banned weapons against innocent Israeli villages. See Gateway Pundit and the Confederate Yankee has the photographs. Photographs and facts that you won't see on the drive-by hatemongers.
Israel has the right to defend themselves against cowardly terrorist attacks.
Hannah Needs Prayers
So many of you are compassionate and faithful prayer warriors and ask for prayer intentions. Michelle Malkin's post today is heart-wrenching. Please keep 4-year old Hannah Garman in your prayers as all the other parents in the world facing the loss of their child to illness.
Twitter - The Next Frontier
As most of my friends and peers know, I am an infomaniac. I read non-fiction constantly, research current events, watch news, and blog.
First it was bulletin boards, next AOL, then cell phones, wireless laptops, and now a new frontier.
Keeping up to date with family and friends is hectic especially when everyone is on the run. I can't always get into my favorite chatroom these days (It's getting to be a good thing.) to find out what my friends are doing and I don't have access to my email (and really don't need more email) 24/7 while I'm on the road or traveling. I love knowing what my family is doing and how my friends' days are going. So I'm taking another step into the technology of the future with "Twitter."
Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users' updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length.
Not everybody has time (or has the interest or cares) to read about another person's life but it will let me know who does and we can talk via twittering short and sweet. I'd love to hear what you're doing and you can keep up with my (if you can) adventures. If something newsworthy happens - you'll hear what I think and you can tell me what you think.
Some of you will roll your eyes (I know who you are LOL), some will be excited (I know who you are). I haven't gone over the deep end... really!
It's safe, no spam - the Terms of Service (TOS) are excellent and prevent harassment from bullies and marketers. You can control who reads your tweets and who you receive tweets from. You can tweet once a day, once an hour, once a week. It's up to you.
Warning - this is really for those who are online (you can tweet from your computer or laptop) or if you have free - I repeat - FREE - texting on your mobile phone.
Click to go to Twitter.
Give me a tweet! Sweet!
Hidden Mickeys Are Everywhere
UPDATE: Thanks to all the readers who thought it could be Minnie Mouse's ears. But if you know Minnie at all, you know she never goes anywhere without her beautiful bows.
UPDATE: Yayyyy, Steve Barrett, author of the Hidden Mickeys books, the Hassle-Free WDW Vacation book, and the Hidden Mickeys Guide website added my Hidden Mickey to his collection!
It's not the Virgin Mary on toast that I can sell on E-bay for $28,000 but the Disney Magic is so prevalent in the Orlando area that "Hidden Mickeys" appear everywhere! Even in splats from an individual creamer for a cup of tea. This happened while I was fixing my cup of tea right before a workshop and I was so tickled at seeing the good omen of Mickey Mouse ears that I had to run out to the car to get my camera.
I wonder if I can submit this to Steve Barrett's "Hidden Mickey's: A Field Guide to Walt Disney World's Best-Kept Secrets ?
I guess living 15 minutes from Disney World is magical.
Realizing Your Daughter Is A Murderer
Known for his angry outbursts against protesters and stressed pleas for privacy, George Anthony, grandfather of murdered Caylee Anthony and retired police officer went missing yesterday. He left his home at 8am and did not return in time for an afternoon appointment with Cindy, his wife and his attorney. Text messages from Mr. Anthony received in the afternoon by his wife stated that Anthony was depressed. Cindy Anthony reported her husband missing at 11pm last night. Using his cell phone pings, the Sheriffs department located George Anthony in a Daytona Beach hotel room. Anthony was taken to the hospital where he is undergoing tests.
The recently released pages of evidence indicates that his daughter really did commit this heinous crime. Evidence shows that a heart shaped sticker was placed on the duct tape that was wrapped around Caylee's mouth. It may also reveal that the body of Caylee was moved after the Anthonys found the car.
Or does the suicide attempt indicate that Mr. Anthony, a former homicide detective may be involved in the crime?
In his situation, realizing that my daughter murdered my beautiful grandchild, I would probably do the same thing.
Michael Moore's Pornographic Propaganda
I've written about Michael Yon in Iraq before. His passionate efforts brings the truth to those of us who sit in our homes safely because of our brave military. AP, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, Washington Post, and the New York Slimes on a daily basis deliberately sabotage our government's efforts to win the war in Iraq, putting our service men and women in harm's way. Yon's newsletter and photographs provides details ignored and not reported by the Bush-crazed leftwing media.
Yon knows that bloggers help get the word out about our soldiers along with the dangers and the successes in Iraq during war. Bloggers who rely on brave reporters like Michael Yon to bring us the facts and truth through laptops and cameras. Yon understands the intent of trying to make sure that everyone you know hears the real story.
I usually freely grant use of my work to truthful, peaceful, non-commercial, non-political outlets. For instance, a church group wanted to use one of my photos for their congregation. I was honored and gave it to them freely. On another occasion, a peaceful, non-profit Islamic organization wanted to use the same photo that Michael Moore has infringed upon (Major Mark Bieger cradling a little girl named Farah), and I was honored to contribute to their peaceful cause. I’ve seen grandmothers use my work in technically illegal ways, but since they’re not a big company, they probably have no idea about copyright, and usually use the work in tasteful, appropriate ways, I just smile and say “Go ahead, Ma’am.”
Thank you, Michael. If I could be there with you, I would.
Just a few weeks ago, Michael Yon's work was stolen by the abhorrent, hypocritical, and soulless Michael Moore. When someone lies, manipulates, and deceives with his work and benefits financially from those sabotaging lies, lawsuits should be filed.
Read the latest details on Michael Yon's lawsuit against Michael Moore's pornographic use of Yon's heartbreaking photograph for his own vitriole and hatemongering purposes. If you haven't seen Michael Yon's photograph of Little Girl, check it out.
Abortions Will Help Science Recruit Brains
I posted in June about a little premature girl struggling for survival. This week the miracle continued.
Six month old Lexie Slater-Folkman went home from the hospital last week after being born prematurely at only 23 weeks gestation. A miracle considering that in Britain women can have abortions up to 24 weeks. How can anyone believe that with medical technology today that increases the chance of survival, there is no viability of a baby at 24 weeks of age?
Lexie Slater-Folksman weighed only 1 lb, 8 oz. at delivery. She was put on life support, her parents being warned that she might not survive, the Daily Mail reports.
Her eyes not having developed fully, Lexie required laser surgery when she was just one month-old. She also suffered collapsed lungs and spent weeks on ventilator equipment.
Lexie’s parents, the 20-year-old Sarah Slater and her 25-year-old fiancé Richard Folksman, said their daughter’s case proves that abortion laws are outdated and should be changed.
In May, Parliament voted to keep abortions available up through the second trimester (24 weeks) Why is there a current push to have mid to late term abortions?
Because science wants your body.
In Britain, there is a shortage of brains.(The link requires an account.) Not intelligence, but actual brains. The scientists in the United Kingdom only have 10,000 brains to operate on and to perform research. A call to recruit brains, asking people to volunteer to leave science their brains has been issued.
Researchers say that they need thousands more fresh organs from donors with both diseased and healthy brains. There are currently only 20 brains to study autism and 30 brains to research Alzheimer's in the country.
Autism determined at birth and into childhood means they need to operate on newborns and children's brains.
Britain doesn't sound too Frankenstein-ish yet but check out Croatia scientists' needs. (The link requires an account.)
At the Croatian Institute for Brain Research, neuroscientist Miloš Judaš switches on the lights and steps aside. "Here it is," he says. The cavernous room is filled with row after row of floor-to-ceiling shelves, nearly all of them crammed with glass jars or plastic buckets. Judaš points to one jar, where a black spot mars a bone-white brain not much larger than a plum. "Lesion," he says. "Typical in premature birth, but those babies tend to survive now."[T's note: He sounds saddened by that fact.]
The Zagreb Neuroembryological Collection and Brain Tissue Bank contains 1,160 human brains ranging from the fifth week after conception to 91 years of age, plus 130,000 stained histologic slides or sections, some fixed and others frozen. Ivica Kostović, director of the Croatian Institute for Brain Research (CIBR), began accumulating normal and pathologic specimens in 1974, after his return from Johns Hopkins University. His stockpile continues to grow. Croatia does not have an organ donation program, so specimens instead come from autopsies performed at the university's departments of pathology, gynecologic pathology, and forensic medicine, Judaš says.
Fetal material was available more frequently before the 1990s, largely due to a higher prevalence of hypoxic-ischemic damage in the brains of premature babies, he adds. More preemies survive today, but many end up with cerebral palsy or other cognitive, motor, and sensory deficits - an impetus for Judaš's work.
How can the United States help in the effort to keep abortions legal? By keeping abortion clinics secret.
There is so much negative publicity now when an abortion clinic infiltrates a neighborhood or city, that they have to go underground. They are doing it with assistance of the universities.
Newly publicized plans for the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics to perform second-trimester abortions in a jointly-operated clinic have attracted protest from employees of the clinic and the Alliance Defense Fund. The pro-life group claims the “secret and potentially illegal plans” would likely compel pro-life medical professionals to cooperate in unethical acts and could provide fetal remains for medical research.
The plans, made public by the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) on Tuesday, show that University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics (UWHC) is planning a full-service second-trimester abortion practice at the Madison Surgery Center. The center is a joint venture of UWHC, UW Medical Foundation, and Meriter Hospital and currently does not provide any services related to abortion.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Planned Parenthood, which performs abortions up to the 18th week of pregnancy, took over Christensen’s clinic. Later-term abortions are being referred to a clinic in Milwaukee, with the new joint clinic being intended to perpetrate such abortions in the Madison area, the Associated Press reports.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
University of Wisconsin researchers Ian Duncan, Su-Chen Zhang, Hans Sollinger and Debra Hullett have reportedly published studies that, according to the ADF, indicate “they experiment on fresh fetal brains and pancreases from second-trimester abortions, apparently obtained from the victims of Madison abortionist Dennis Christensen.”
“UWHC may well be pushing abortions into the Madison Surgery Center, via their own in-house abortionist Dutton, so that they will have fresh and inexpensive baby body parts for various researchers to dissect,” the ADF alleged.
The sanctity of life must be taught in schools and universities without the need or the encouragement of abortions. Medical research can be accomplished without the secrecy of making money off abortions. Yes, all of our medical techniques have to in some way involve the operating and research on humans, so the balance between research and respect for life have to be balanced and universally promoted.
With Obama in the White House, abortion will become a government-funded right. 'Soylent green' research will become the legacy of our unborn children and the duty of our elderly population. Respect for life wont happen with this administration.
Grandma's Hands
5 Generation Photo by Pamela McFarland Walsh
I am truly blessed to receive wonderful emails from all over the world. They help inspire me to share my thoughts and strong emotions that they evoke with others on my blog. My most visited posts have been about women, some beloved like the Princess Diana and inspiring Nicole Johnson's Invisible Woman, and others sadly like Casey Anthony.
My friend and fellow chick blogger, Toccata sent me a beautiful email on "My Grandma's Hands." The email said it was from an unknown photographer and author. I researched the photographer and the poet and came across a wonderful memorial to Pamela McFarland Walsh's grandmother. Please click on the post's title to read and see more pictures of the long-lived women in their family. With our fifth grandchild expected in June, we too, have been blessed with beautiful family. One day I hope to have five generations of hands in one photograph to hand down to my great-great-granddaughters to show them the strong women in our family.
Grandma, some ninety plus years, sat feebly on the patio bench. She didn’t move, just sat with her head down staring at her hands.
When I sat down beside her she didn’t acknowledge my presence and the longer I sat I wondered if she was OK.
Finally, not really wanting to disturb her but wanting to check on her at the same time, I asked her if she was OK. She raised her head and looked at me and smiled. “Yes, I’m fine, thank you for asking,” she said in a clear voice strong.
“I didn’t mean to disturb you, Grandma, but you were just sitting here staring at your hands and I wanted to make sure you were OK,” I explained to her.
“Have you ever looked at your hands?” she asked. “I mean really looked at your hands?”
I slowly opened my hands and stared down at them. I turned them over, palms up and then palms down. No, I guess I had never really looked at my hands as I tried to figure out the point she was making.
Grandma smiled and related this story:
“Stop and think for a moment about the hands you have, how they have served you well throughout your years. These hands, though wrinkled shriveled and weak have been the tools I have used all my life to reach out and grab and embrace life.
They braced and caught my fall when as a toddler I crashed upon the floor.
They put food in my mouth and clothes on my back. As a child, my mother taught me to fold them in prayer. They tied my shoes and pulled on my boots. They held my husband and wiped my tears when he went off to serve our country in time of war.
They have been dirty, scraped and raw, swollen and bent. They were uneasy and clumsy when I tried to hold my newborn son. The left hand is decorated with my wedding band they showed the world that I was married and loved someone special.
They wrote my letters to him and trembled and shook when I buried my parents and my spouse.
They have held my children and grandchildren, consoled neighbors, and shook in fists of anger when I didn’t understand.
They have covered my face, combed my hair, and washed and cleansed the rest of my body. They have been sticky and wet, bent and broken, dried and raw. And to this day when not much of anything else of me works real well, but these hands hold me up, lay me down, and again continue to fold in prayer.
These hands are the mark of where I’ve been and the ruggedness of life.
But more importantly it will be these hands that God will reach out and take when he leads me home. And with my hands He will lift me to His side and there I will use these hands to touch His Face.”
I will never look at my hands the same again. But I remember God reached out and took my Grandma’s hands and led her home.
When my hands are hurt or sore or when I stroke the face of my children and husband I think of Grandma. I know she has been stroked and caressed and held by the Hands of God.
I came across this Youtube video of Bill Withers, of "Ain't No Sunshine" fame, singing about his grandmother.
Prince Harry Breaks Under Stress Of Being Royalty?
UPDATE: Prince Harry Apologizes, Faces Punishment.
What shameful behavior for any soldier but this is Prince Harry, the son of the beloved late Princess Diane and Prince Charles. I can't even begin to say how disappointed I am in this shocking video. Too sad.
The soldier prince pours shame on the Royal Family as he calls an Asian squaddie “our little Paki friend” and tells another officer cadet jokingly wearing a camouflage veil off duty: “F*** me, you look like a raghead”—an offensive term for an Arab.
Harry, 24, third in line to the throne, also mocks the Queen—who is Commander-in-Chief of the British Army—while acting out a mobile phone call to her in front of other cadets at a field camp in Cyprus.
They laugh out loud as the disrespectful Prince pretends to get bored talking to his grandmother and dismissively hangs up on her saying: “Send my love to the corgis. I’ve got to go, got to go, bye. God Save You . . . yeah, that’s great.”
I'm not going to post the video. It's disgusting. Prince Harry is not a kid anymore. He's grown up and become an ugly person.
I'm A Lonely Little Onion In An Onion Patch
My momma used to sing this song to us as children. She would sing it whenever we were crying or we were singing songs. I think Captain Kangaroo would also have it on his children's show and she would sing it with the television, too. We loved it with all the emotions and sound effects. Especially the "boo hoo" part. Sing along and enjoy.
Of all the saddest words
That I have ever heard
The saddest is the story told me by a bird
He had spent about an hour
A-chatting with a flower
And here's the tale the flower told:
Oooh...
I'm a wonewy wittow petunia in an onion patch
An onion patch, an onion patch,
I'm a wonewy wittow petunia in an onion patch,
And all I do is cry all day
Boo hoo, boo hoo,
The air's so strong it takes my breath away...
Wide ay-way
I'm a wonewy wittow petunia in an onion patch.
Oh, won't you come and play with me?
(instrum.)
Who put me in this bed?
I bet his face is red,
I call him down with every teardrop that I shed
If I only had him here
I'd take him by the ear
And make him share my misery.
My nerves begin to crack
Each time I see a track
Made by a kitty with a stripe upon his back
If he'd ever stop by me
I think I'd rather be
A dead petunia, wouldn't you?
All together, woooah (nuts)
I'm a wonewy wittow petunia in an onion patch
An onion patch, an onion patch,
I'm a wonewy wittow petunia in an onion patch,
And all I do is cry awe day:
B' hoo,hoo
B'hoo hoo hoo hoo,
Oh the air's so strong it takes my breath away,
Wide ay-way...
I'm a wonewy wittow petunia in an onion patch.
Oh, won't you come and pway with me?
I am so gruesome....
Oh, won't you come and pway with me?
My best friends tell me....
Oh, won't you come and pway with me?
New York Slimes Stays In Business With Al Jeerz Advertisement
Listening to Glenn Beck on my travels yesterday, I was not really shocked - more disgusted - (again) learning that the New York Times accepted half page advertisement from the terrorist front group Al-Jeerz. Unbelievable that an American (in location only) corporation could help fund an Islamofacist organization.
Gunslinger heard the same thing and had some great comments:
Yes, that Al Jazeera. The mouthpiece for Islamofascism.
They're touting themselves as "independent" and "fearless". They brag that they're at the "center of events", "get the real story", and "put people at the top of their news agenda". (I think that last might have been an inadvertent truth slopping over the brew of lies.) "For the real story, watch the English Language Al Jazeera."
You bet.
Did the New York Times run ads for the Nazis in 1942? Or Pravda in 1958? I don't remember hearing about that.
And Liberals can't figure out why the New York Times is going broke. The government will bail them out. Guaranteed. And they will be Pravda, American-style, propaganda organ of the STATE.
I can't understand why this isn't being talked about more by the Maharaji Rush, Bill O'Reilly, or Sean Hannity. Only the third most hated conservative Glenn Beck finds it alarming. Come on folks, this is why newspapers are tanking! Americans don't want to pay to aid the war of Islamofacism against the American way of life!
How soon before New York Slimes closes their slimy doors like the Seattle Times?
Thanks Gunslinger for backing up the story. It's nowhere else on the Internet. Not even on Glenn Beck's site!
P.S. Thank goodness Glenn Beck came to his senses and left CNN. His new program on Fox starts Monday.
Another Liberal Newspaper Bites The Dust?
The Seattle Times is looking for someone to invest and buy their newspaper or it will have to close its doors. Where's George Soros or Congress when another liberal bastion fails?
Seattle is one of two major cities on the verge of losing its second daily newspaper as the industry tries to pull out of a tailspin brought on by falling circulation and advertising revenue. Denver's Rocky Mountain News recently put itself up for sale in the face of steep losses and could close if a buyer isn't found soon.
Hearst said it is not considering buying The Seattle Times, the city's other daily paper, which has handled non-news functions for the P-I since 1983 under a federally approved joint operating agreement. Hearst has owned the P-I since 1921, and the paper has had operating losses since 2000, including $14 million last year.
The mood in the P-I newsroom was grim.
"People are kind of depressed. There's some crying," said Candace Heckman, P-I breaking news editor who has worked at the paper since 2000.
C'est la vie.
How Old Is Your Brain?
Fun challenge for your eyes to test the age of your brain. First time I attempted the Japanese test, Flash Fabrica, I scored 33. But I attempted it at 11pm at night after an entire day of eye-straining editing and I didn't know what I was doing. Second time I took it, I scored 28. I wonder if I can get my brain age down to 5 years old... what will that mean?
It's a more satisfying self esteem test than what is your real age with body and lifestyle questions!
Read the following instructions since the game is in Japanese. Believe me, you'll understand after seeing the first screen.
1. Touch 'start'
2. Wait for 3, 2, 1.
3. Memorize the number's position on the screen, then click the circles from the SMALLEST number to the BIGGEST number.
4. At the end of game, the computer will tell you the age of your brain.
H/T and a big thanks for a fun website to Clair!
Matt Lauer's Guilty
Like her or not, Ann Coulter can take care of herself with leftwing reporters. She stands her ground against Matt Lauer, leaving him looking foolish every time he changes the subject when he's wrong.
LAUER: No, no I only read one line. The, the section in the book goes on in some other directions that I think are over the line. That's the reason I made the point.
COULTER: Well quote that sentence to me then!
LAUER: Let, let, let me do this. Let me ask you this other thing. In the book, throughout the book, you refer to the President-elect Barack Obama as "B. Hussein Obama."
COULTER: Not throughout the book.
LAUER: Well in a lot of places.
COULTER: I sometimes call him the Angel Obama.
LAUER: In a lot of places.
COULTER: The Sheriff Obama.
LAUER: You don't refer to President Bush as "G. Walker Bush." Why would you, if not for the reason of appealing to the extreme readers of your book who still believe--despite all the information and despite the fact that it's simply untrue--that he's Muslim.
COULTER: It's not untrue that, that's what his middle name is. This is the first time-
LAUER: But why would you refer to him
COULTER: -in history-
LAUER: -in that way, when no one else refers to him in that way?
COULTER: He refers to himself that way!
LAUER: As B. Hussein Obama?
COULTER: We now know that he likes his middle name.
LAUER: But as B. Hussein Obama?
COULTER: He's announced, he's announced that he is going to use his middle name now. So-
LAUER: Well so I think George Walker Bush-
COULTER: You act like this is a hate crime-
LAUER: George Walker Bush enjoys his middle name too-
COULTER: -to use his middle name.
LAUER: -but he doesn't call himself G. Walker Bush. I'm just saying you don't refer to any one else in that way.
COULTER: Okay I think it's insane-
LAUER: But by highlighting Hussein-
COULTER: -to act like using someone's actual middle name is some sort of vicious hate crime - point one. Point two, if Republicans-
LAUER: Why take his first name out of the mix?
COULTER: Because, because we just went, I mean it is funny Matt Lauer. I'm not going to deny that there is something ironic about having just gone to war with an enemy named Hussein and they're running a guy whose middle name is Hussein. This would be like Republicans. I'm going to finish this sentence no matter what you do.
LAUER: Go, go! I didn't say a word.
COULTER: Oh you were getting ready. In 1948 running, running instead of Thomas Dewey, you know if it were, Thomas Hitler Dewey. If that were his middle name I think it would have come out. If we were running candidates named, named, you know-
LAUER: Would we have called him, T. Hitler Dewey?
COULTER: I think it would have been mentioned.
LAUER: We've just come through an election cycle where it seemed to me and maybe I'm completely wrong because apparently, according to you, I'm wrong about most things, but that, that people have decided it's time to address the issues that face this country. The economy clearly one. Unemployment. Things like that. And to maybe concentrate less on what divides us. Did you not get that sense from this? I mean I'm just asking is-
COULTER: No.
LAUER: You didn't get that sense from this election?
COULTER: No, to the contrary and as I detail, at great length in this book, we didn't, I mean to say we want to concentrate on the issues, then why wasn't B. Hussein Obama asked about the issues? He was asked, as I describe over and over in my book, you know the tough "gotcha" questions he'd get from the media were things like, "How did you feel tonight? You must have been thinking about your parents."
LAUER: Do you, do you not get a sense though-
COULTER: That's from Brian Williams.
LAUER: -that people want-
COULTER: Meanwhile Sarah Palin is memorizing the last seven kings of Swaziland.
LAUER: Do you not get a sense that people want a different tone? That they want a different attitude? That they want, maybe, to start to pull together?
COULTER: No I think liberals want conservatives to stop talking so that you can keep telling us how marvelous B. Hussein Obama is. You were not asking him about the issues during the campaign, which is why, well the next four years, I think, are gonna be a surprise for all of us because he can't keep voting, "present."
She's very funny as she won't let NBC forget all the major retractions that the network have had to air because of their reporters being wrong.
Newsbusters has Lauer and the entire pathetic interview. It's a must read.
No Experience Needed
  • Barack Obama, no federal government experience.
  • Al Franken, no government experience.
  • Caroline Kennedy, no government experience.
So, if Samuel Wurzelbacher aka 'Joe the Plumber' wants to go to Israel and be a war correspondent, why can't he? I mean if the leftist drive-by media doesn't have to provide real news, why should anyone be upset that an average "Joe" wants to report the news?
Even Barack Obama was engaged enough with Mr. Wurzelbachers' speaking skills to debate him and answer his questions for over five minutes.
Mr. Wurzelbacher has a credible on screen personality and communication skills to be a good reporter. That's exactly what we need more of in the world: conservative reporters.
Back to you, Joe.
And Not One Conservative In The Bunch
Obama can be presidential when it comes to the economy, the bailout fiasco, reappointing the Clinton administration but he can't comment on Israel and Hamas. Where is Ronald Reagan when we need him?
Palin On/Off Criminal List
Who says that bloggers aren't changing the world? Conservative blogs are reporting the malicious and maligning of conservatives and showing the blatant misrepresentation of facts and hatemongering by the drive by media.
Newsbusters, a conservative media watchdog, highlighted two days ago CNN's end of they year insidious insertion of Governor Sarah Palin into a list of "Political Criminals of 2008."
Showing they have no sense of morality, no grasp of corruption and no understanding of what defines a criminal, CNN gives us another one of those ubiquitous year in review stories, this one titled "Politicians who fell from grace in 2008." In this one, CNN has decided to reveal for us their top eight politicians that found 2008 to be a "career-buster" because of their "crimes and misdemeanors" or their outrageous controversies.
CNN features corruption mired Rod Blagojevich, the sex crazed Elliot Spitzer and John Edwards, and the criminal bribe taker Ted Stevens among four others. Each of these men in the CNN list have either been convicted of criminal actions, are indicted for corruption, lost their positions, been drummed out of their party, or are soon to face jail time. Among these eight criminals, however, is a name that doesn't belong among this class of serial abuser of the public trust. It won't be shocking to note that among the worst sex criminals, bribe takers, liars and thieves in politics for 2008, CNN ridiculously included the name of Governor Sarah Palin.
After CNN's leftist bias was outed by Newsbusters, it only took a day for them to take the popular conservative Republican governor off the list. Palin Derangement Syndrome continues.
Oh No! Global Ice Rebounding!
Alert the media! Global ice measurements are back to their 1979 totals. Holy Ice Pick, Batman! Wonder which one of the "chicken little" newspapers will report this bit of fact?
Earlier this year, predictions were rife that the North Pole could melt entirely in 2008. Instead, the Arctic ice saw a substantial recovery. Bill Chapman, a researcher with the UIUC's Arctic Center, tells DailyTech this was due in part to colder temperatures in the region. Chapman says wind patterns have also been weaker this year. Strong winds can slow ice formation as well as forcing ice into warmer waters where it will melt.
Why were predictions so wrong? Researchers had expected the newer sea ice, which is thinner, to be less resilient and melt easier. Instead, the thinner ice had less snow cover to insulate it from the bitterly cold air, and therefore grew much faster than expected, according to the National Snow and Ice Data Center.
Yayyy, now can we take off the polar bears off the endangered list as well? They're doing just fine, too.
Return Of Camelot Just A Dream?
Caroline Kennedy may be trying to slip into her father's, uncle's, and cousin's political shoes but she may not stay there very long.
A new survey conducted by Public Policy Polling shows 58 percent of voters would prefer to see Gov. David Paterson appoint state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo to the seat.
That's compared to Kennedy's 27 percent.
Among Democratic voters, Cuomo leads by about 20 points.
Who knows? Does Caroline Kennedy have the intelligence and experience to be a Senator? As much as our first forefathers, our parents, any mother or father, you or I do... yes she does. Just by the simple fact that she has grown up in this country, has graduated from high school, has had to raise and support a family, has read a few newspapers, and definitely has her own opinions about the way our country should be governed. As much as any other citizen of legal age in this country should be allowed to become a Senator. And she's just as articulate as Nobama.
Should she be allowed to slip in the backdoor without being voted in by a majority of constituents above other well-qualified, experienced, and deserving junior Senators who have worked hard for their voters and our country? No, she doesn't have that right. It's not a legacy or generational gimme. Even if she is a Kennedy.
Angelic Voices
More children singers this week. Can you tell that I love spine-tingling, goose-bump-brilliant music? I love hearing amazing talent that is unexpected. Talent that is not Hollywood celebrity or generational old hat but honest to goodness phenomenal talent. There are many musically talented people in the world, but it's the genuine goodness inside a certain few that show the world they are special and that I love to hear.
Britain's Faryl Smith is only twelve years old and yet the maturity and strength of her vibrato and voice is incredible.
Another child, with a light inside him that makes me want to give him a hug, 13 year old treble, Andrew gives more credence to the fact that bullies are nothing but jealous of truly talented and good people. He sings Pie Jesu like an angel.
News Flash: Conservative Bloggers Report The News
Michelle Malkin has ended 2008 with the ultimate post on how conservative bloggers have made their mark on the Fourth Estate by blowing the whistle, getting the scoop by investigative reporting, providing real facts that the impotent liberal press refuses to acknowledge, and blogging the news.
Before we fully launch into the action-packed first week of 2009, I want to provide you with a year-end wrap-up of original blog reporting on this site and across the conservative blogosphere. Why? Well, over the weekend, a few bloggers on both the left and right perpetuated an ill-informed and self-serving myth that demands debunking. The myth is that conservative bloggers don’t do reporting.
Michael Goldfarb at the Weekly Standard complained on Friday that there aren’t enough conservatives engaged in “online partisan reporting” and holds up left-wing blogger Greg Sargent (formerly of TPM, now headed to the Washington Post) as a model Internet journalist for constantly bombarding the McCain camp with phone calls.
Matthew Yglesias of Think Progress piled on with this smug assertion: “What the right lacks are people with the skill to do the job.”
Bullcrap.
For various reasons, the incredible amount of investigative online reporting published on conservative blogs in just the last year alone has gone largely uncredited.
Michelle proceeds to list, praise, and document the conservative newsbreakers from 2008, the year that journalism died.
Michelle's blog is a must read for every conservative out there and a great way to start 2009. I agree with Commenter Mookie - Debbie Schussel's blog was extremely important in getting news on home-grown terrorists in the United States.
Rush will be all over this this week.
Another Amazing Voice
Charice Pempengco, a 16 year old phenom, discovered on a talent show. Singing since the age of 4, petite Charice sings to take care of her mother that she loves dearly. Remembering how her abusive father nearly shot her mother when Charice was three years old, she brings all of her emotions and trauma into her singing.
Charice sings now worldwide with David Foster (composer famous for Whitney Houston's songs), Andrea Boccelli, and Celine Dion.
She gives me chill bumps. I hope the entertainment world takes care of this little one. She is very special.
New Year of Joining Parishes Means New Beginnings, Huge Renovations
Visting family in Taunton for the holidays means going to mass as a family on holy day of obligations. Depending on the location, attending mass on vacation takes determination, thought and sometimes a hassle. In out of the way destinations, it can take lots of effort to find a Catholic Church. In Massachusetts, it was a common sight to see Catholic churches on every other city corner. These days Catholic churches, with the massive consolidation of parishes under heavy financial strains, are not as evident.
Taunton Catholic parishoners have undergone heavy decisions this last year. Decisions that have produced a lot of varying emotions, thought, prayer, and recommitment to their Catholic faith. Due to fiscal necessity and reduced parish sizes, the two Taunton parishes, St. Joseph's and St. Paul's Catholic Churches agreed to combine into one parish, one church. The Catholic Church that evolved from the two congregations became St. Andrew the Apostle Parish. (The patron saint of Scotland.)
We were very fortunate to attend New Year's Day mass at this beautiful English gothic-styled brick Catholic church. It was obviously undergoing major renovations to accomodate the future growth of this newborn parish. The interior of this one hundred and twelve year old church, decorated for the Christmas celebrations was breathtaking. The architectural details of huge entry doors, dark wood paneling, stained glass windows, and sacred grotesques adorning the columns and walls, took me back to my childhood and travels to English and Scottish medieval churches. The quiet spirituality and solace inside the church belied its currently scaffolded exterior. St. Andrew the Apostle's sanctum is cerebrally conducive to prayer. You know that you're in God's house in this parish. Every corner of this tiny parish is filled with reminders of saintly adoration and prayer.
St. Andrew The Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Taunton, MA
St. Andrew the Apostle Church (established in 1896 and dedicated in 1910) is what memories are made of for older Catholics, especially those that can't bring themselves to attend because of post-Vatican II changes. You know deep down they miss going to church and receiving sacraments. These churches are what Catholics should be insistant on protecting and salvaging for future generations.
I could tell that Reverend Timothy Reis and Father Alan Thadeu understood their challenges for the future. Their words embodied support of the congregation and confidence in their efforts. Attending the mass was uplifting and a great way to invigorate our faith and start off our family's new year.
St. Andrew the Apostle closed on January 4th, 2009 for the serious renovations that would hamper attending mass, so the former St. Paul's Catholic Church (now also called St. Andrew the Apostle Parish) two miles away will be the site of all masses and parish events until March 2009.
(Fall photograph from St. Andrew The Apostle Parish homepage)
If you're in the Taunton area after March, please stop in and attend mass at the refurbished St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. I can't wait to return and see the changes. Good changes.
Donations should be encouraged to help restore the church. If so moved, you can send a donation to St. Andrew The Apostle Parish. I know there are many Catholics nationwide that would truly appreciate in helping to restore this church for all Catholics to attend mass. If there are renovations going on in your diocese, please help. Your faith and attendence is needed.
