Air France Flight 447 - Weather Related Crash?

UPDATE: 6/7/09 17 bodies rescued from Air France crash.

UPDATE: 5:14PM EST Air France today confirmed that they received bomb threat five days before crash of Flight 447. Flight disappeared so rapidly and without any communication that experts are not ruling out an explosion from a bomb.

Tim Vasquez, with Weather Graphics, has an excellent analysis and thesis for the Air France Flight 447 crash. Airplane enthusiasts will understand the terminology and maps better than I but it looks like the crash was weather-related. Experts fear the worst with Airbus A330's black box never being found. Vasquez's detailed hypotheses may be the closest the airline industry comes to knowing what really happened.

The Air France Flight 447 (Airbus A330) crash investigation will go on for another one and one half years. This is according to the French Investigation Director. The BEA has published a 72 page interim report on the investigation.
