What William Ayers Saw in Barack Obama

As I have noted previously on this site, the real revolutionary left in this country learned in the 1960s that it was never going to achieve the violent revolution it so desperately sought. This country was too successful in raising people out of poverty, and creating a massive middle class, to fall for the mindless Marxist rhetoric these over educated, muddle headed, wannabe elitists had swallowed whole cloth. The leaders of that movement simply decided to change tactics, and became "community organizers" and "educators" with the intent of gaining power through faux concern for consumer issues.

William Ayers, Saul Alinsky and their ilk knew they would never be acceptable to the American voting public, because they had too clearly aired their beliefs, and in the case of Ayers actually engaged in violence to try to start the revolution. What were they to do? Once they had their political organizations in place, who could they elect? They were already taking over the Democratic Party beginning in 1968, but how could they reach that massive middle class where most of the votes are?

So began their search for candidates who shared their views, but who would be acceptable to the American public. It is well known that Hillary Clinton was a protege of Saul Alinsky, and William Ayers similarly took Barack Obama under his wing. Alinsky and Ayers and other radical left leaders knew what they wanted (power) and how they wanted to get it (political organizing), but they needed a smiling face for their radical socialist movement.

Enter the moderate appearing, but radically conditioned candidates. Hillary Clinton was personally responsible for almost single handedly foisting socialized medicine on this country, and she was only the wife of the president then. Bill Clinton was never a proper tool of the hard left, because he was more interested in personal power than power for the movement. Hillary on the other hand was a committed movement leftist who learned the benefits of pragmatism from seeing Bill's success. While this has been a key to her success, it also is what sealed her doom in the primaries just past.

She was the perfect candidate for the new revolution. A woman, white, acceptable to the middle class, a history of winning a hotly contested election in a large state: she knew how to talk moderation while pushing radical policies. Hillary had a serious flaw though, and that flaw lead directly to the left's adoption of Obama as their candidate. Hillary learned from Bill that once you gained power, you didn't need all those long haired leftists who helped you get there. Even if Hillary had won the election, she would never have given actual personal power to the Ayers, Dohrns and ACORNs of the movement. They would have had influence, but no real power.

Then (as "Father" Fleger said) "along comes Barack." Ayers and the movement took Obama under their wing at least as early as 1995. He was the leftists' dream candidate. By his own description, he was a young impressionable man, without even a sense of his own identity. Well spoken (as long as he has memorized what he has to say), pleasant demeanor, and a blank slate; he soaked up their radicalism like a sponge.


But why did the movement choose an inexperienced Obama so clearly over one of their own who had proven herself under fire? For these reasons: Hillary let her desire to socialize our economy be known in the early 90s; Obama has almost no real public record of his radical beliefs. Hillary really gained power through Bill, and so had no direct debt to the movement for her rise to power; Obama was nothing until Ayers and Jeremiah Wright took him in hand, made him part of the Daley political machine in Chicago, and brought him to the point where he is the favorite to become president of the United States. Hillary almost succeeded in establishing socialized medicine and has been an effective (liberal) senator, she need take a back seat to no one in the movement; Obama has accomplished nothing of substance in his entire career, and so needs the movement in a way she never would. ACORN has far exceeded its previous efforts to steal votes for Obama, and Ayers may even have even co-written Obama's first book for him. He owes them - big time.

Moreover, Hillary's involvement in movement politics is in her past. Her work for Alinsky was decades ago and her and Bill's control over the Democratic Party freed her from worrying about the need for placating the movement. To the contrary, Obama is just out of his "community organizing" training period. Hillary has had everything about her past scrutinized and publicized, she is scandal proof. Obama is subject to many on the left who could destroy him by simply leaking the right tape. One wonders if the Khalidi tape released to the L. A. Times, but censored from public view, may not really be a subtle signal to Obama of this vulnerability.

Hillary, by her earlier politics and lust for personal power is damaged goods to the hard left. She also knows that for all their talk, the Ayers and Alinskys of the world are just as much motivated by that same lust for personal power. Socialists always are. Just as their expressed concern for the public good disguises the movement's search for pure power, so too the leaders' claim to want empowerment of their organizations simply disguises their unending quest for their own personal power.

Obama is still young and inexperienced enough to believe the grad school pap that Ayers, Khalidi and others fed him about the movement. He is well spoken and glib enough to come across as knowledgeable, without really having the kind of personal drive and resolve to actually change things on his own. They do not have to worry about Obama going off the reservation like Hillary did in supporting the war in Iraq.

Much that is written about Obama takes on the airs of the conspiracy lunacy that has been so prevalent in recent years. But Alinsky's bible of the left, Rules for Radicals, makes it clear that while organization is central to the movement, concealment of the purposes of that organization is even more so. We are witnessing the results of decades of "community organizing" by the hard left in this country as they try to bring their revolution to fruition.

The hard left in this country chose Obama over the more experienced Hillary because the movement could not control her. Obama they can, and will. There is more at stake in this election than the public has been allowed to know.

Does It Matter That Obama Lacks Respect For Senate Position?

Not only could Barack Obama not make a decision, or want votes with his real beliefs on record, or write any legislation, he didn't respect his constituents enough to attend Senate committee meetings on time. This man is nothing but promises, taking your money with no return for your hard work. What kind of employee would keep his job if he kept showing up late and not producing?

Obama Speechwriter Switches Vote To McCain

Newsbusters is reporting that in the final days of the election, an Obama speechwriter and supporter, Wendy Button, is so delusioned by Obama that she is voting for John McCain.

As the nation slouches toward disaster, the level of political discourse is unworthy of this moment in history. We have Republicans raising Ayers and Democrats fostering ageism with “erratic” and jokes about Depends. Sexism. Racism. Ageism and maybe some Socialism have all made their ugly cameos in election 2008. It’s not inspiring. Perhaps this is why I found the initial mocking of Joe so offensive and I realized an old line applied: “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party; the Democratic Party left me.”

The party I believed in wouldn’t look down on working people under any circumstance. And Joe the Plumber is right. This is the absolutely worst time to raise taxes on anyone: the rich, the middle class, the poor, small businesses and corporations.

...Not only has this party belittled working people in this campaign from Joe the Plumber to the bitter comments, it has also been part of tearing down two female candidates. At first, certain Democrats and the press called Senator Clinton “dishonest.” They went after her cleavage. They said her experience as First Lady consisted of having tea parties. There was no outrage over “Bros before Hoes” or “Iron My Shirt.” Did Senator Clinton make mistakes? Of course. She’s human.

But here we are about a week out and it’s déjà vu all over again. Really, front-page news is how the Republican National Committee paid for Governor Sarah Palin’s wardrobe? Where’s the op-ed about how Obama tucks in his shirt when he plays basketball or how Senator Biden buttons the top button on his golf shirt?

...Governor Palin and I don’t agree on a lot of things, mostly social issues. But I have grown to appreciate the Governor. I was one of those initial skeptics and would laugh at the pictures. Not anymore. When someone takes on a corrupt political machine and a sitting governor, that is not done by someone with a low I.Q. or a moral core made of tissue paper. When someone fights her way to get scholarships and work her way through college even in a jagged line, that shows determination and humility you can’t learn from reading Reinhold Niebuhr. When a mother brings her son with special needs onto the national stage with love, honesty, and pride, that gives hope to families like mine as my older brother lives with a mental disability. And when someone can sit on a stage during the Sarah Palin rap on Saturday Night Live, put her hands in the air and watch someone in a moose costume get shot—that’s a sign of both humor and humanity.

Has she made mistakes? Of course, she’s human too. But the attention paid to her mistakes has been unprecedented compared to Senator Obama’s “57 states” remarks or Senator Biden using a version of the Samuel Johnson quote, “There’s nothing like a hanging in the morning to focus a man’s thoughts.”

...I was dead wrong about the surge and thought it would be a disaster. Senator John McCain led when many of us were ready to quit. Yet we march on as if nothing has changed, wedded to an old plan, and that too is a long way from the Democratic Party.

I can no longer justify what this party has done and can’t dismiss the treatment of women and working people as just part of the new kind of politics. It’s wrong and someone has to say that. And also say that the Democratic Party’s talking points—that Senator John McCain is just four more years of the same and that he’s President Bush—are now just hooker lines that fit a very effective and perhaps wave-winning political argument…doesn’t mean they’re true. After all, he is the only one who’s worked in a bipartisan way on big challenges.

You won't find this on the front page of the pro-Obama MSM's like you did Colin Powell's lackluster racist endorsement. The MSM's are desperately ignoring the abandoning of the Obama Socialist Ship.

World News Daily has published literary expert analysts' confirmation that the "career no accomplishments, do-nothing but author two autobiographies" Barack Obama did not write his autobiography, "Dreams Of My Father." Barack Obama is ultimately Bill Ayer's sockpuppet. Bill Ayers, neighbor, domestic terrorist, anti-American, anarchist, mentor, has been an integral part of Barack Obama's career and ultimately responsible for Obama becoming the Democrats presidential candidate.

Comparing Ayers and Obama's writing styles, Jack Cashill notes:

The stylistic similarities between the best sections of Obama's "Dreams" and Ayers' 2001 memoir, "Fugitive Days," should be apparent to any serious writer or editor.

Consider the two following "nature" passages in Obama's and Ayers' respective memoirs, the first from "Fugitive Days":

"I picture the street coming alive, awakening from the fury of winter, stirred from the chilly spring night by cold glimmers of sunlight angling through the city."

The second from "Dreams":

"Night now fell in midafternoon, especially when the snowstorms rolled in, boundless prairie storms that set the sky close to the ground, the city lights reflected against the clouds."

These two sentences are alike in more than their poetic sense, their length and their gracefully layered structure. They tabulate nearly identically on the Flesch Reading Ease Score (FRES), something of a standard in the field. The "Fugitive Days" excerpt scores a 54 on reading ease and a 12th-grade reading level. The "Dreams" excerpt scores a 54.8 on reading ease and a 12th-grade reading level. Scores can range from 0 to 121, so hitting a nearly exact score matters.

Obama Campaign Censors and Bans ANOTHER TV Station

UPDATE: What is Obama going to do? His Vice presidential candidate can't even get through one interview without getting flustered. Will Obama ban all legitimate hardball questions? Here we have another Biden failed television interview. Not with FOX News but a Philly CBS affiliate. What was Joe Biden's response?

I bet these daring co-anchors Chris May and Angela Russell are unemployed by the end of the month. No wonder Obama hasn't granted an interview in weeks.

ABC Affiliate News Reporter Blows Biden Away

ABC's affiliate Orlando, Florida television station, WFTV-Channel 9 star reporter Barbara West literally took Joe Biden's breath away during an interview on Friday. Using her five minute interview time allotment, West bombarded "Open Mouth-Insert Foot" Biden with question after question regarding Obama's policies on socialism and Marxist statements, and his 'spread the wealth' remarks. Biden was so shocked by the non-softball Hannity-esque questions coming from an ABC network station that he asked increduously "I don't know who's writing your questions?" He couldn't believe that anybody would have the nerve to ask him straight questions on the real issues.

What was the star reporter's reward? Obama's campaign cancelled the next interview with Jill Biden next week. The WFTV station has been told they will get no more chances to ask "real questions." How dare they question Biden that way? Orlando Sentinel Entertainment columnist Hal Boedeker fills in the details:

Biden so disliked West's line of questioning that the Obama campaign canceled a WFTV interview with Jill Biden, the candidate's wife.

"This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election," wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign.

McGinnis said the Biden cancellation was "a result of her husband's experience yesterday during the satellite interview with Barbara West."

The gorgeous reporter responded to Biden's scorn:

"I have a great deal of respect for him. I have a great deal of respect for Sen. Obama. We are given four minutes of a satellite window for these interviews. Four precious minutes. I got right down to it and, yes, I think I asked him some pointed questions. These are questions that are rolling about right now and questions that need to be asked. I don't think I was rude or inconsiderate to him. I think I was probing and maybe tough. I can't believe that in all of his years in politics, and all of his campaigning and such, that he hasn't run into some tough questions before. He's certainly up to it in giving good answers."

Way to go Barbara! I don't know what your politics are, but I appreciate you asking the real questions. 'Softball' Joe Biden should have just answered them appropriately and moved on. He should have said thank you for allowing him to promote Obama's campaign. How ungrateful of the Obama campaign!

Channel 9: I'll be turning in from now to see what's going on in the morning news. I don't care if Channel 35 is the Fox network affiliate. I'm tired of Channel 35's horrible reporting of local news. The 6am - 8am reporters are just brutal. The weatherman is hot but not hot enough for me to keep watching. I'll give Channel 9 a try.

Emmy winner Barbara West had the guts to ask VP candidate Joe Biden hard questions. Whether it's naiveté, ignorance, or just plain lying, Biden needs to understand that the voters do realize the truth about Obama's ties with ACORN fraudulent voter registration. Somebody is lying and it wasn't television reporter Barbara West.

Was Biden answering truthfully about Barack Obama’s relationship with this radical organization ACORN?

The Obama campaign paid an ACORN front group more than $800,000 but revised its filing about this to say it was for “get-out-the-vote” projects, not “to register a single, solitary voter.” But ACORN entities that do register voters could easily have shared this large Obama payment, and those names, real or fake, on voter rolls could help elect Obama-Biden this November.

Obama has long had a complex "relationship" with ACORN, but Biden cunningly said, “We are not tied to them . . . There is no relationship,” evasively using only the present tense to answer a reporter’s question that was explicitly about Obama’s past, not present. An official Obama-Biden website claims Obama “was never an ACORN community organizer,” but Biden now confirms that Obama “was (ACORN’s) organizer.” One of these two voices of the Obama-Biden campaign is lying.

Censorship by the MSM

When conservatives speak of the liberal mainstream media (MSM), they are generally referring to the bias in the reporting of NBC, CBS, ABC, the New York Times and the Washington Post. A more significant problem in our (for now) free and democratic society is that the MSM are censoring the news available to a large part of the electorate.

Bias in reporting is problematic, but most people can decide for themselves if they are given the facts, no matter the opining of the reporter. Much more serious is keeping information from the public entirely, or censorship. This is not about editorial discretion. The MSM are routinely withholding significant information from their viewers and readers that is central to the issues presented by this election.

On any given day, the three major networks reach 21.3 millions viewers daily. The circulation of the New York Times an Washington Post do not approach these numbers directly, but the vast majority of local newspapers carry their stories, and those of the equally liberal AP and Reuters news agencies. By contrast, the monster of talk radio, Rush Limbaugh, reaches approximately 3 million listeners a day.

Cable news networks are essentially a wash. Fox News' ratings show approximately 3 million viewers daily, while CNN, MSNBC and CNBC reach about the same number. But cable viewers (liberal and conservative alike), and Rush's listeners are typical news junkies. We listen to talk radio, watch multiple news cable shows, read multiple newspapers and follow numerous online blogs. If something is reported in any of the media, we will hear about it.

However, a large part of the American voting public is busy living their lives, raising their children and doing their jobs. They get their news from watching the news before dinner and reading the local paper (with all those NY Times, AP and Reuters "news" items). Editorial pages throughout the nation take their leads from the MSM, usually parroting what they read in the morning Times or saw on the network evening news.

Someone should take a poll of the big three networks' viewers and see how many of them can identify William Ayers or the New Party; or have heard of Obama's "redistribution" comments or Biden's claim that an Obama victory will result in a foreign crisis manufactured to test Obama. The MSM censor the news available to their viewers and readers because they know this country is not as liberal as they would have you believe. If their consumers knew about Obama's own prior statements, his conduct with the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, and so much more, Obama would not have even won the nomination.

The NBCABCNBCCNNMSNBCNYTimesWashPost monolith keeps information from their consumers with ruthless efficiency. Just the latest example is the Los Angeles Times keeping from its readers (and the rest of the nation) a video of Obama at a dinner honoring Rashid Khalidi. Khalidi is another Hyde Park "neighbor" of Obama's, who has babysat his children and, oh by the way, was the "former mouthpiece for master terrorist Yasser Arafat."

Andrew McCarthy in a National Review Online article describes Khalidi at the time as "a PLO adviser turned University of Chicago professor, was headed east to Columbia. The MSM believes the people have a right to know, as long as what they are allowed to know is favorable to Barack Obama. There are no real journalists in the MSM any more. Public opinion polls that supposedly show Obama "winning" the race. (But see here and here.) The thousands of devoted supporters who attend Obama's rallies. The legions of blacks and young people who are more "inspired" than ever to vote for a candidate who understands their needs and interests. Etc. We all know the story by heart by now.

This is the "narrative" that the mainstream media has been imposing on this year's presidential campaign almost from the start. Remember how quickly the MSM jumped off the Hillary Clinton bandwagon and onto Obama's? Remember how annoyed and angry they became as Hillary refused to concede the nomination? The MSM decided that electing the nation's first black, socialist, anti-American president was politically and historically more important (and, for them, more exciting) than electing the nation's first female, socialist, patriotic president. And they are doing everything they can to achieve this goal.

Well, there is another story out there that the MSM refuses to address. A huge story. One that could, and I think will, significantly affect the outcome of this race.

If you are depressed or disheartened by the drive-bys driven agenda of ignoring all the warning signs of electing an unvetted, inexperienced candidate into the most powerful position in the world,(Remember Biden has warned us.) US Special Forces Attack Syrian Militants

US military helicopters bombed a Syrian compound in an effort to seal off routes allowing Syrian enemies to enter Iraq and supply insurgents.

A Syrian government statement said the helicopters attacked the Sukkariyeh Farm near the town of Abu Kamal, five miles inside the Syrian border. Four helicopters attacked a civilian building under construction shortly before sundown and fired on workers inside, the statement said.

Zogby Poll: Obama In Danger Zone

Latest Reuters/C-Span polls have Obama with a less than 5% lead and McCain's poll numbers increasing every day. John Zogby points out:

“There is no question that this race continues to tighten and that McCain is finding his message again,” said Pollster John Zogby. “It is after all about the economy and that is how McCain tightened it up the last time. I have said over and over again, when he focuses on extraneous issues, he screws up. In today's single day of polling, it was 49% to 46% in favor of Obama. McCain has moved his own numbers each of the three days and Obama has gone down from 54% to 50% to 49%. I have alluded before to this strange, magnetic pull that brings Obama down to 48% or 49%, a danger zone for him. McCain's gains are among white voters, where he now leads by 12 points, and with men, where he again has a healthy lead. There is still a lot of campaign to go. A lot of campaign to go.”

Caylee Anthony Is Dead

On Friday forensic DNA tests released indicate that Caylee Anthony is dead. God rest that poor wee baby's soul.

"The hair found in the trunk establishes that Caylee's dead and that her dead body was in the trunk of the car. Even if they don't find the body, it's enough evidence, scientific evidence, to establish that she's dead," said Dr. Michael Baden, nationally-renowned forensic pathologist.

DNA testing done on that piece of hair and compared with a sample provided by Casey confirmed that neither Casey nor Caylee can be "excluded as the source of the hair," because the "mtDNA sequences ... are the same."

Tests also confirmed "residues of chloroform" within a spare tire cover found inside the trunk of Casey's car. "Residues consistent with chloroform" were also found within the left and right side trunk liner. The report says no other chemicals were detected within those items. Coupled with evidence that someone on Casey's computer was researching how to make chloroform, it could explain how Caylee was murdered.

"That would indicate that chloroform has to be considered as a cause of the baby's death," Dr. Baden said.

Eight Thousand Attend Royal Hasidic Wedding In Brooklyn

Two Jewish Hasidic dynasties will celebrate for six days a royal wedding uniting two historic families.

If the wedding of Chaim Halberstam and Raiza Meisels lacked the simple charm of a small ceremony (there was a banquet for 5,000), it did not lack fanfare. To many Hasidic Jews, the couple's marriage this week was nothing less than the royal wedding of Brooklyn.

''It's a perfect match,'' said Rabbi Israel Steinberg, a friend of both families. ''There's a boy. There's a girl. He comes from a royal family. She comes from a royal family. It brings the Hasidim together.''

Known for its ethnic neighborhoods and unpretentious, in-your-face temperament, Brooklyn might seem like a shallow pool for blue blood. But to the Hasidim, the ultra-Orthodox Jews who arrived from Europe after barely surviving the Holocaust, Brooklyn is the place of their rebirth. This week's wedding joined two grandchildren of the leaders of two of the largest Hasidic groups, a union that to many symbolized the renewed vitality of their movement.

''These are the two biggest dynasties in the Hasidic world,'' said Schabse Sturman, a member of the Bobover Hasidic movement. ''You connect each other. Both of these groups are people who came out of concentration camps.''

While it wasn't 4,000 to 5,000 men in kilts, what a great wedding! How I wish I could have been there! Oy vey! Feeding 5,000? This was no loaves and fish banquet, I wonder what they serve at Jewish feasts? I'm sure something similar to this Jewish wedding banquet.

McCain/Obama Polls 11 Days To Go

McCain The Stalwart

Charles Krauthammer has written an excellent piece on why he's voting for John McCain. A portion of his column outlines his reasoning:

First, I'll have no truck with the phony case ginned up to rationalize voting for the most liberal and inexperienced presidential nominee in living memory. The "erratic" temperament issue, for example. As if McCain's risky and unsuccessful but in no way irrational attempt to tactically maneuver his way through the economic tsunami that came crashing down a month ago renders unfit for office a man who demonstrated the most admirable equanimity and courage in the face of unimaginable pressures as a prisoner of war, and who later steadily navigated innumerable challenges and setbacks, not the least of which was the collapse of his campaign just a year ago.

McCain the "erratic" is a cheap Obama talking point. The 40-year record testifies to McCain the stalwart.

Nor will I countenance the "dirty campaign" pretense. The double standard here is stunning. Obama ran a scurrilous Spanish-language ad falsely associating McCain with anti-Hispanic slurs. Another ad falsely claimed McCain supports "cutting Social Security benefits in half." And for months Democrats insisted that McCain sought 100 years of war in Iraq.

McCain's critics are offended that he raised the issue of William Ayers. What's astonishing is that Obama was himself not offended by William Ayers.

Moreover, the most remarkable of all tactical choices of this election season is the attack that never was. Out of extreme (and unnecessary) conscientiousness, McCain refused to raise the legitimate issue of Obama's most egregious association -- with the race-baiting Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Dirty campaigning, indeed.

Christians Fighting Secularism With Fireworks

Bravo to Phil Butler, with Grucci Fireworks. The Gruccis, the 'First Family' of fireworks since 1850 and Gold Medal winners for the largest firework display in the world has pulled out of Long Island's July Fourth holiday fireworks on Long Island because Patchogue has changed their Christmas Boat Parade. The Great Patchogue Foundation changed the name of the boat parade to avoid complaints from anti-Christian and anti-religious secularists.

The Greater Patchogue Foundation, which hosts the event along with the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce, decided to change the name because the use of "Christmas" garnered complaints from people who wanted the event to "be more inclusive," said Charles Baker, president of the chamber.
Grucci vice president Phil Butler, a vocal critic of the secularization of Christmas, accused the parade’s organizers of “using all the themes of Christmas and plagiarizing all those themes.” Grucci is headquartered on Long Island.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue commended Butler’s decision:

“If more people like Phil Butler stood up to the high priests of political correctness, the dumbing-down of Christmas would cease Christmas is the only holiday that is singled out by these authoritarians. They do not object to Jewish or Muslim holidays, nor do they object to holidays like Martin Luther King Day. And they relish Kwanzaa celebrations. But when it comes to Christmas, they quickly become censors.

“So Kudos to Grucci. Let this be the first of many counterpunches thrown at the cultural fascists this year.”

Patriotic Palin vs Beaten Down Biden

Sarah Palin's promotion of patriotism is (oh here it comes again) REFRESHING. Biden's tired of hearing about it, too. I'm sure Biden is tired. He knows that the Obama/Biden team is not guaranteed. It will be McCain's and Palin's love of country and middle class family values that will bring voters to the booths November 4th. Every person I've talked to over the last week has loved that Sarah Palin had to stop at Wal-Mart to buy diapers. Which one of us has not needed "something" and stopped in at a convenient Wal-Mart to pick it up? I do on a regular basis: 'Oh great, there's a Wal-Mart, I can get it there and pick up this, this, and this too. I'll save gas and time.' The only people who don't shop at Wal-Mart are elitists. Average people appreciate Wal-Mart.

McCain, on the other hand, while he may not be great in economics, he understands what this country will need: Walking softly and carrying that big stick. The average middle class person understands that, not 'we need to change this country to spread the wealth.'

What does Obama promise? Well, it's hard to know now because he's reneging on his campaign promises for the last six months. Here and here. I mean, heck, why believe Obama when he stated to Tim Russert in 2006 that he wasn't even going to run for the presidency or vice presidency in 2008.

Biden asks for people to understand when Obama does what he has to do because it's not going to be pretty.

“And he’s [Obama] gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you - not financially to help him - we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.”

If that presidential candidate had been John McCain, you would have called it a major scandal and we would be getting stories in your paper every day about how incompetent and corrupt he was.

But instead, that candidate was Barack Obama, and so you have buried this story, and when the McCain campaign dared to call Raines an "adviser" to the Obama campaign -- because that campaign had sought his advice -- you actually let Obama's people get away with accusing McCain of lying, merely because Raines wasn't listed as an official adviser to the Obama campaign.

Conservative Stockholm Syndrome

Eight years of having to support liberal Republican George W. Bush, combined with the relentless campaigning of the national media to elect Barack Obama president and ACORN inspired polling, have given too many Republicans an excuse to go wobbly (in Margaret Thatcher's words) in this election. The never ending series of polls by NBC, CBS, ABC, et al. showing Obama with a double digit lead gather all the headlines, while more respectable (though still partisan) polls like Zogby and IBD are ignored because they show gaps ranging from 3 to 6 percent.

It is no surprise that the liberal media speak regularly of the "inevitability" of an Obama victory in November, but the steady drip drip of erstwhile conservatives waving the white flag two weeks before the election is a sad thing to see. "Stockholm Syndrome" refers to a psychological phenomenon first described when the victims of a bank robbery in Sweden began to identify with the bank robbers who were holding them hostage because they had been held captive so long. That is what I am reminded of as I watch so many pundits prematurely surrender, all with sad lamentations that they wish it were not so. This would be bad enough, but to see so many of them blame their capitulation on Sarah Palin is just getting to be too much.

Peggy Noonan is a star of the conservative wing of American politics. I have loved reading and listening to her for years. But let's face it, she has always had a bit of the snob to her. Christopher Buckley, like so many who follow a truly great parent, feels the need to show his independence and sophistication, in this case by leaving the GOP and dissing Palin. And let us not forget that man of the people, David Brooks, who deigns to share with us his opinion that Palin is a "cancer on the Republican Party." The defection of closet liberal Colin Powell I have already written about earlier.

In response, to quote that great American philosopher Steve Martin... Well excuuuuussseee meeeeeee.

Give me a break. The only job of a vice presidential candidate in the real world is to help the presidential candidate get elected. Whatever chance McCain has of winning in November is a direct result of the fact that real conservatives are now supporting him actively and enthusiastically, only because of Sarah Palin. The people at those massive rallies are not coming to see the uber-experienced liberal Republican John McCain...they are there because of Palin.

It is amazing to read those who bemoan Palin's lack of executive experience wax so eloquent about the appeal of Obama whose only similar experience was working for a non-profit to funnel money to radical education "reformers" like William Ayers. Some shake their head and speak sadly of how, yes, Sarah is popular because of her looks, charisma, and personality, but that it is too bad she has not been running a presidential campaign for two years like Obama has. THEN they could feel enthusiastic about her. They simply flat out ignore that it is her conservative principles that have invigorated millions of voters, and the McCain campaign with them.

Palin is not Fred Thompson, Bill Bennett, or Mitt Romney (do we see a gender pattern here?) but I think it is it is safe to say that John McCain isn't either. Her time as governor and mayor, and the way she has lived her life, show a strong grounding in bedrock conservative principles: pro-life, pro-business, pro-capitalism. Watching her campaign, hearing what she says when she is not being controlled by McCain's advisers, has simply confirmed that first impression.

When those people in Stockholm walked out of the bank, they surrounded their former captors to protect them from the police. Obama has enough protection from his media sycophants and squishy former "conservatives" like Buckley and Colin Powell. Surely he does not need real conservatives' help as well.

For those on our side who wish to raise the white flag I say feel free. But don't presume to speak for me or millions of other conservatives who see Palin, with all her weaknesses and faults, as better than the other three candidates combined We would rather have at least one conservative in this campaign, however limited her experience. And if you don't mind too terribly much, those of us who have not abandoned ship would like to actually have an election this year as well.

McPalin Got Bushwhacked

Having said little during this Presidential campaign, I feel that now is the time for me to throw my 2 cents worth in. Things are looking bleak for Johnny Mac. Despite choosing a running mate that is wildly popular for her charm, looks, folksy mannerisms, and gender, McCain has failed himself, his party,and Sarah Palin with that same choice. Sarah Palin, despite all her accomplishments, simply is not ready to assume the Presidency and in our hearts, we all know it. One cannot ignore the idea that McCain, at his age, may not finish even a first term leaving Palin to assume the office of the most powerful nation on earth. Palin indeed has the intellect and backbone we need in a President. What she lacks is the seasoning it takes to be a viable choice. At this point in time, she is more the Spokesperson than a Statesman. To evolve into the latter will take time and time is what she has too little of to aid McCain in his quest.

To her credit, I believe Sarah Palin could someday be a viable candidate for the Presidency in her own right but that would be many years and many battles down the road.

Experience is what this election has come down to. This is not at all to say that Barack Obama has the necessary experience to be our President, he without a scintilla of doubt does not. What will more than likely propel Obama into the Oval Office is another type of experience and that is the experience we have had with the money swilling and power grabbing of George W. Bush. McCain has had to run his campaign on two fronts: trying to detach himself the failures of Bush while simultaneously trying to show the many reasons that Barack Obama and his Quasi-Socialist policies can only harm America. Sarah Palin simply did not nor could not at this time, help win that awesome battle but I can't think of anyone that would have tried harder than she has.

My prediction, sadly stated: Obama wins by 10%

Colin Powell Endorses Obama and Socialism

On Meet the Press, Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama for president today. In an interview that was self contradictory at best, Powell said the last few weeks confirmed his decision that Obama is the candidate best suited to deal with any crisis that might occur in January 21, 2009. As one of his justifications, Powell said that the Republican Party had just become "too conservative" over the last years.

On the other hand, another "conservative" recently endorsed Obama to great fan fare. Christopher Buckley (formerly of National Review), said he has decided that the Republican Party has left him by becoming too liberal. Claiming the mantle of Ronald Reagan and his father, William F. Buckley, National Review's founder, he is saddened by how the GOP has changed. Unlike Powell, Buckley did not claim the GOP had become too conservative. To the contrary, Buckley blamed his dissatisfaction on the fact that under George Bush, and with the help of congressional Republicans, the party had "doubled national debt, ruinous expansion of entitlement programs, bridges to nowhere, poster boy Jack Abramoff and an ill-premised, ill-waged war conducted by politicians of breathtaking arrogance.”

Powell says the Republican Party has become too conservative for him, and Buckley claims it has become too liberal (on economics). In both cases, it is not the liberalism of the speaker that caused them to endorse the candidate who has expressly admitted his economic policy is based on redistribution of wealth. No, for both it is the fault of those evil conservative/liberal? Republicans.

Is there any sentient human being on this planet who thinks Barack Obama will spend less than Bush or congressional Republicans, let alone John McCain? Does anyone believe that Obama will follow a conservative foreign policy in any sense? At least Powell was obliquely honest that the GOP is too conservative for him. But the curious thing is that Buckley is right that the Party has governed in a liberal, big government fashion. Which raises the question: if the GOP is too conservative for Powell now, why did he ever claim to be a Republican? Pro-abortion, now pro-redistribution of wealth, Powell is, was and always has been a liberal. He is finally with the party with which he really agrees.

In his endorsement, Powell has laid bare the complete incoherence of the left in this election. Powell was explicit in confirming his original decision to support the second Iraq War (necessitated by Powell's decision to leave Saddam in place after the first war). Then he parroted the Democrats' false claim that the only reason we went to war with Iraq was the intelligence regarding weapons of mass destruction. Powell claims the decision to go to war justified, but wouldn't have been if we had known the truth. You know, the war was wrong, but its the CIA's fault. Powell appears to be the first politcian to be for the war while he is against it.

It would be hard for Powell to adopt the leftist claim that Bush lied, so people died, because Powell saw the same intelligence (as did congressional Democrats), and Powell made the speech to the UN that the left uses as its greatest proof of those "lies." It was Powell, not Bush, who made WMD the centerpiece of his arguments in support of the war. Having pushed Bush into that position (that has had him pilloried for five years by the left) Powell now joins their most anti-military candidate.

How will the Obama campaign deal with this contradiction of the central theme of their campaign by the man now endorsing him? They will ignore it, just as they ignore ACORN, William Ayers, Jeremiah Wright. But the irony is just too delicious. Powell supports the candidate who won his nomination by accusing him of lying to the United Nations, and the American people; and Obama will now embrace the man who as Secretary of State made the very decisions and arguments that Obama claims make John McCain unfit to be president.

I would give anything to see Powell and Ayers seated together at an Obama fund raiser. The reluctant general and the unrepentant terrorist, finding common ground in the "transformative" socialism of Barack Obama. Colin Powell is living proof of the wisdom of placing control of the military in this country in the hands of civilians.

Voter Fraud, Race Baiting, Black Poverty - All Part of the ACORN/Ayers/Obama/Democratic Plan

Listening to Rush Limbaugh's last hour today was like watching the lights come on all at once in an entire city. He finally connected the dots. He asked himself the question why black Americans alone of all sections of our society have as a group failed to rise out of mass poverty. His answer, finally, is that it is not an accident, not racism, not chance, but the conscious decades-long tactics of socialists to develop a power base for the eventual imposition by elections of that which they could not achieve by revolution.

ACORN, Afro-Centric Studies in universities, the Black Liberation Theology of Jeremiah Wright, embraced by Barack Obama; they have all contributed to the building of a monolithic power base for primarily white socialists like William Ayers, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and others. The mainstream media complains constantly about how race is supposedly used by conservatives to get white votes. But ask yourself, if the Democrats did not always receive 95% or more of the black vote, how many national elections would they have won over the last 40 years?

Just think about it, who benefits from poverty among blacks? Whatever charges of racism are made, conservatives are capitalists. It is in the interest of capitalists to have as many solvent customers as possible. Removal of millions of blacks from the welfare roles would also likely reduce the taxes on conservatives dramatically. And no surprise, conservatives have therefore pushed for school vouchers, welfare reform, tax incentives for small businesses, and many other reforms that have the chance of making the American dream accessible to blacks in the inner cities. It is in their own best interests to do so.

Democrats on the other hand resist all efforts toward education reform, other than sending more money to Democratic controlled school administrations that refuse to educate black children. Democrats run almost all inner city school systems. Democrats created a welfare system that consciously destroyed the black family in the inner city and built high rise ghettoes that concentrated black votes in the inner city. Why is that?

If you want to know who is responsible for any particular program, just follow the money. Who benefits? The answer is clear that Democrats are keeping blacks poor and filled with racial resentment because without the black vote, they have no chance of enacting their socialist agenda through elections.

Liberals like Ayers and Pelosi pay off their fellow travelers like the Reverend(s) Jeremiah Wright, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton with grants, contracts and political favors. In return, these "preachers" help perpetuate the myth that black poverty is the result of white racist conservatives, all the while getting rich off the very populace they are keeping down. What do Wright, Jackson, Sharpton and so many other black "civil rights leaders" have in common? They all got richer than sin providing cover for the socialists who have devastated black American culture while those they claim to represent remain mired in poverty and ignorance. They have sold out millions of their fellows for power and wealth.

Democrats are not the first to use this tactic. Palestinians who left Israel decades ago are still living in refugee camps, run for years by the PLO, now some by Hamas. Western countries, led by the US, have sent billions and billions of dollars to the Palestinans which were paid directly to the PLO and Yassir Arafat. Given the chance to better the lives of millions of people looking to him for leadership, Arafat and other PLO leaders simply took most of the money for themselves. Arafat could not improve the Palestinians' lives, because their anger was the base of his power. So too liberals here resist any reform that might free blacks from their dependence on socialist programs for fear they might never win another national election.

The Democrats construct high rise public housing slums, write welfare rules requiring fathers to leave the home for wives and children to receive benefits, refuse to actually teach children in inner city schools, radicalize those schools and our universities, constantly rant about racism and class warfare, use ACORN for a nationwide program of voter fraud, resist all attempts to verify voter eligibility, and Obama pays ACORN over $800,000 for its efforts. All are part of the same long term plan.

We are not just in a culture war, but a political war with radical socialism in this country. As I noted in a prior post about community organizers, the true hardcore socialists learned in the 60s that they were not going to get the violent revolution they so desperately wanted. They decided to switch tactics, becoming political organizers and populists, and took over the Democratic Party. Blacks in particular have been paying for decades for the hateful manipulations of the Ayers, Pelosis, Reids, Jacksons and Sharptons. The rest of the country has paid a heavy price in an ever increasing socialist government, and the constant inflammation of racial tensions for pure, crass, political purposes by the left.

For years, those who called the leading Democrats and others socialists were laughed at or ignored as overreacting. With Rush Limbaugh now sounding the alarm, combined with the revelations about Obama/Ayers/ACORN/Wright, and the blatant vote theft by ACORN for Obama, it may be that all conservatives may now awaken to the very real danger the socialists here pose to our very way of life. It's about time.

No, the charter school teacher was suspended for "releasing" the video of the students marching and pledging allegiance to Obama.

Stigall said on Monday morning that the school's director called his show and acknowledged that the video was made on school grounds after class at a teacher sanctioned event.

The school's director didn't return our calls. According to FOX News, the school suspended the teacher in charge of the after school activity for insubordination after he posted the video online.

I guess the public wasn't supposed to know that indoctrination of children is going on in our school system.

God save us from GOP moderates. McCain's campaign has belatedly started raising Obama's history of participating in radical leftist organizations like ACORN and Bill Ayers' the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. Sarah Palin has been the focal point of these attempts to educate the voting public about the most radical leftist candidate for president in our lifetime. The conservative base is responding with campaign contributions, volunteer efforts, and enthusiasm that might actually give McCain a chance to win in November.

So what do the "moderate" advisors of McCain want to do? Limit Palin's appearances and avoid all mention of Obama's 20 year association with the racist/leftist ideology of Jeremiah Wright. In a Wall Street Journal article, the McCain campaign is quoted as saying they have concluded that Sarah Palin has been "overscheduled." Translation, she is reaching GOP voters and we don't want to get "independents" and the New York Times angry with us. Some of the people in her crowds are fed up with the media and think socialism is bad for the country. The horror of it all.

On Wright, one of these geniuses says "It's not appropriate to attack someone's faith." Great, the Bush administration cannot take on militant Islam, and now the GOP should not expose the radical, socialist, racist ideology that Obama listened to for 20 years (and practiced with Ayers). Here's a clue for you "moderates," when someone's religion preaches hatred of you, and advocates your destruction, it is stupid beyond belief to ignore it because you think someone else might be offended. Good thing nobody ever read Mein Kampf.

Newsflash to Senator McCain and his advisors. All that campaign cash and all of those huge crowds are not coming because of your sterling resume' and history as a bi-partisan maverick who fought earmarks. They are there because of the conservative principles Palin articulates so well when your handlers leave her alone.

John McCain does not deserve to win this election, but I hope he does anyway, because Obama would be even worse. And with Palin down the hall, conservative principles will at least get an airing before they are ignored. Ayers, ACORN and Wright are all parts of the same radical leftist picture: win power at all costs, the ends justify any means. If McCain showed one tenth of the courage against them and the New York Times that he did against the North Vietnamese, this thing would have been over in August. Let Palin be Palin, or go back to Arizona.

ACORN Is Trying to Steal the Election Before the Polls Even Open

ACORN, the community organizing group Obama has worked with, represented as a lawyer, and taught for, is being investigated in almost every swing state for gross voter fraud. They are having people register as many as 72 times each. ACORN's massive fraud does not just make it possible that this election will be outright stolen on election day, it also serves to suppress Republican votes by skewing pre-election polls.

All the major pollsters conduct polls based on questioning either "registered voters" or "likely voters." In both types of polls, the pollsters first determine the make-up of the sample of people they will question. When doing a "registered voter" poll, the pollsters weight their polls according to the registration records in the state they are polling.

For example, take a state with 100,000 registered voters: 50,000 registered as Democrats; 40,000 as Republicans; and the remaining 10,000 as independents. A pollster would then determine the total number of voters they want to poll, and conduct their poll to match the percentage of registered voters by party affiliation. So a poll based on 500 voters would include 250 Democrats, 200 Republicans and 50 independents.

Thus the number of registered voters in each state determines the weighting of the survey. And of course a survey weighted heavily Democratic will show stronger support for Obama. The more fraudulent Democrats ACORN can register (regardless of whether the votes are even cast) the heavier the representation of Democrats in the surveys and the higher Obama's numbers.

This is just in a registered voter poll. In a "likely voter" poll, the pollster then tries to determine the eagerness of various groups of voters to vote. This purely subjective factor gives the pollsters (almost all of whom are liberal) room to slant their samples even further, thus showing ever increasing numbers for the Democrat, and depressing (they hope) Republican turnout. Such skewed polling also helps the "moderates" make up their minds. Why "waste" your vote on a sure loser? ACORN's fraudulent voter registration drives threaten to steal the election before the polls even open.

The Democrats have fought every attempt to limit voter fraud because they know they cannot win national elections any more without it. Imagine a world in which only real registered voters could vote, and the mainstream media actually objectively reported facts rather than Democratic campaign literature.

Quick investigation and prosecution are the only way to even dampen this type of fraud because the Democrats will never allow any legislation to address it. But don't hold your breath no matter the headlines of current investigations. Bush has the same "bi-partisanitis" that McCain has. He knows if he actually prosecutes voter fraud, he will be called a racist. ACORN engaged in similar fraud in the last election, New Mexico and Wisconsin being prime examples. But Bush won, so why anger the New York Times by prosecuting felonies?



The only way this problem can be dealt with now is by countering it with a massive conservative turnout on election day. Shining a light under Obama's and ACORN's voter fraud rock is the only way to accomplish this.

If McCain isn't willing to make this an issue, Sarah Palin has to let her principles be her guide, and raise it herself every day until the election. If the McCain campaign does not fight this fight, and the Justice Department does not finally start to take this rampant, systemic vote fraud seriously, we can forget having real elections in this country any more. We will just be another socialist banana republic...without the nice weather.

I said previously that Barack Obama's Muslim faux pas are starting to add up. It's even more important to make sure that everyone understands that Barack Obama is Arab American. Was the View's promotion of Barack Obama's genealogy insightful when it told their viewers that the Senator was related to Brad Pitt? Did they give an accurate portrayal that Barack Obama is not African American? Arabs don't consider themselves black. It's more politically correct for Barack Obama to be seen as black, not Middle Eastern descent.

2) 43.75% Arab, and

3) 6.25% African Negro

This corresponds to a demographic breakdown of his 16 Great-Great-Grandparents as follows: 8 Caucasians, 7 Arabs, and one Negro.

Though Obama's racial/ethnic background is in and of itself irrelevant, it says a great deal about the man when viewed in the context of what he wants people to believe about him. Since entering politics, Obama has strenuously worked to identify himself as an "African American," i.e. as a black man. On what basis, though, does he establish this identity? Genetically, he is infinitesimally black. Culturally, he is white, having been raised in a white family and having known neither his father nor his father's cultural traditions. Socio-economically, he is among the wealthiest and most privileged 0.1% of the U.S. population. Educationally, he's attended -- courtesy of affirmative action -- the finest institutions of higher learning in the country. Obama doesn't even share with the vast majority of American blacks the "legacy of racism." He was born in the post civil rights era and his father was a foreigner, so neither he nor any of his ancestors suffered any racial discrimination. Moreover, there were no slaves among Obama's ancestors, but there were SLAVEHOLDERS and SLAVE TRADERS. Obama, then, has shared not at all in any aspect of the "black experience" as it has come to be defined in America, yet all accounts he's poised to be the "first black President of the United States."

• Barack Hussein Obama's name is not African-American, it's Arabian.

  Barack Obama was originally named “Baraka.” It is not an African name. It's an Arabic word meaning “blessed” and comes directly from the Koran.

• Barack Hussein Obama genealogy is not African American but Arab American. Kenneth Lamb cites:

  Documentation of his actual ethnic background demonstrates Mr. Obama is not an “African-American” as defined in United States law. This research was initiated by a request from a daily news publication of international reputation in New York City.
  
  The story then moves to documenting his father’s genealogy. This study indicates Sen. Obama is actually Arab-American. The significance of this is that “the soul and substance of Mr. Obama’s claim to fame” rest entirely on his being “the first” African-American to achieve whatever it is that Mr. Obama is claiming at the time. If Mr. Obama is not legally an African-American, then his claims collapse.

California Is Newest Welfare State

RINO Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger whines that instead of kicking out illegal aliens that use up California revenues, or cutting services to welfare recipients, or raise more taxes on those anti-American Hollywood celebrities, he wants a state budget bailout just like Wall Street received this week.

How about this great idea? Let's take money from Senator Biden's state of Delaware's state budget bank account where they are more fiscally responsible and give it to California residents to use to balance their budget?

That's fair, right? Problem solved.

Palin Makes Faux Conservatives Crazy Too

Sarah Palin has become a Rorschach test of true conservatism. A few true conservatives have expressed doubts about whether Palin is ready to be vice-president, but those who call themselves conservative (but are not) are adopting the left's outright visceral hatred of Palin. They don't criticize, they ridicule and demean. There is no analysis, just pronouncements of what "everyone knows."

David Brooks is no conservative by any real standard, but claims to be one for the sake of giving the New York Times the appearance of presenting opposing views. His reasoned judgment of Sarah Palin? She is a "fatal cancer to the Republican Party."

While he trashes Palin, Brooks is full of praise for how Obama "is unconnected with the tired old fights that constrict our politics." His blindness is a symptom of the same disease we see in the rest of the mainstream media and admitted liberals in general. Sarah Palin, when not managed by McCain's "moderate" advisors, is a clear, persuasive spokesman for conservative values. As such, she unhinges them.

Brooks and other pseudo-conservatives have been engaged seemingly forever in an attempt to redefine conservatism. Their success in saddling us with liberal nominees like both Bushes and John McCain made them think they had won the ideological battle for the Republican Party. The failure of either Fred Thompson or Mitt Romney to win the nomination this year confirmed their belief. But they misread these failures. Thompson simply did not have the energy for a real run; Romney is too recent a convert to conservatism on many issues; and they both attracted votes from one another.

Along comes Sarah Palin, and all of a sudden real conservatives throughout the country become energized, perhaps to the point of winning the general election. Palin is thus as much a threat to RINOs (Republicans in name only) and "moderate" Republicans (liberals who just won't admit it), as she is to true liberals. If Obama, ACORN and their media allies succeed in lying to the public long enough to win this election, then Sarah Palin, and not McCain, Brooks, or any other "moderate," will likely rise as the putative head of the conservative opposition.

Brooks, et al. favor what is in effect socialism light: the government should run the economy, just not as much as the Democrats want. They see the demise of true conservatism as so close, but so threatened by Palin, that they are unhinged. They want to strangle her political career in the cradle just as much as the Democrats.

While the Brookses of the world are impressed by Obama's cult of personality, (and Biden's serial lying) true conservatives know that it is Palin's principles that make her so formidable; confidence in her God, her country, the Judeo-Christian ethic and capitalism. We share those principles and now have someone who can sincerely represent them (and us) on the national stage. To Brooks and the rest: Bring it on.

Let's remind readers of which countries which are currrently socialist and/or run by a dictator. Freelance writer and website operator Z. Perry writes:

• Cuba: Cuba is one of the most Socialist nations, as it has a mostly state-run economy, universal healthcare, government-paid education at all levels, and a number of of social programs. It does not have a stock exchange.


• North Korea: The same is true of North Korea, which has an almost entirely state-run economy, as well as the same social programs mentioned for Cuba. Like Cuba, North Korea does not have a stock exchange.


• Venezuela: Economy has more private ownership, but the government social programs are quite extensive and the foreign policy is very left-wing. Cuban doctors and teachers have been brought to Venezuela to provide some medical and educational services. China: A substantial part of the economy is still state-run, although there are not as many social programs as there once were and universal healthcare has been eliminated. Still has a Socialist-type foreign policy, for the most part.


• Vietnam: A significant part of the economy is state-run. Close ties with Cuba, Venezuela, and Belarus.


• Syria: Although not commonly referred to as Socialist in the West, Syria has a mostly state-run economy and universal healthcare, along with a left-wing foreign policy.


• Belarus: Much of the Belarussian economy is state-run and some govt. social programs are available. Belarus has close ties with Venezuela, China, and other Socialist countries.


• Sweden: Mostly private industry, but many well-funded govt. social programs are offered. Universal healthcare and government-provided education at all levels is made available. "In the Nordic countries, the social security system provides generous public pensions that may depress wealth accumulation." [T's note: A Swedish government website reports that the tax burden in Sweden is equivalent to 51% of GDP, which together with Denmark is the highest in the world.

Now let's see what countries have the best household wealth.

I received an email from a close friend who is as confused as I am and as a reasonably intelligent cognizant adult would be to why the average American Democrat and liberal voter does not ask more questions about Obama's past and real ideaologies. She writes:

I found the email Trace and it was written by a Debbie aka chet1deb at this site. It also is disputed by Snopes as false. But then again, I long gave up Snopes to their own liberal bias.

Online rumor mill spins its own myth; Snopes.com is presented by some media outlets as an unbiased arbiter of rumors and hoax..

Trace, this is Debbie's original post. You can see the one you received was condensed. I have researched her statements and included links to the original articles or facts to support her concerns. This election has me very worried. So many things to consider. About a year ago I would have voted for Obama. I have changed my mind since then. About six months ago, I started thinking "where did the money come from for Obama". I started looking into Obama's life.

Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California. He is very open about his two years at Occidental, he tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply himself to his studies. Barry" (that was the name he used all his life) during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan. During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a "round the world" trip. Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia, next Hyderabad in India, three weeks in Karachi, Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate's family, then off to Africa to visit his father's family. My question - Where did! id he get the money for this trip? Nether I, nor any one of my children would have had money for a trip like this when they where in college. When he came back he started school at Columbia University in New York. It is at this time he wants everyone to call him Barack - not Barry. Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia? It's not cheap! to say the least. Where did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe.

After Columbia, he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000. a year. Why Chicago? Why not New York? He was already living in New York. By "chance" he met Antoin "Tony" Rezko,born in Aleppo Syria, and a real estate developer in Chicago. Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery this year. Rezko, was named "Entrepreneur of theDecade" by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association".

About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School. Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School? Where did he get the money for Law School? More student loans?

After Law school, he went back to Chicago. Rezko offered him a job, which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. Guess what? They represented "Rezar" which Rezko's firm. Rezko was one of Obama's first major financial contributors when he ran for office in Chicago. In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with "seed money" for his U.S. Senate race. In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price). With ALL those Student Loans - Where did he get the money for the property? On the same day Rezko's wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama's new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko. Now, we have Obama running for President.

Valerie Jarrett, was Michele Obama's boss. She is now Obama's chief advisor and he does not make any major decisions without talking to her first. Where was Jarrett born? Ready for this? Shiraz, Iran! Do we see a pattern here? Or am I going crazy?

On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert Malley advisor to Obama was "sacked" after the press found out he was having regular contacts with "Hamas", which controls Gaza and is connected with Iran. This past week, buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers reported that during Obama's visit to Iraq, he asked their leaders to do nothing about the war until after he is elected, and he will "Take care of things".

Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that where born in Pakistan? They are in charge of all those "small" Internet campaign contribution for Obama. Where is that money coming from? The poor and middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle East? And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on "This Week" with George Stephanapoulos. Obama on talking about his religion said, "My Muslim faith". When questioned, "he made a mistake". Some mistake! All of the above information I got on line. If you would like to check it - Wikipedia, encyclopedia, Barack Obama; Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett: Daily Times - Obama visited Pakistan in 1981; The Washington Times - September 7, 2008; The Times May 10, 2008. Now the BIG question - If I found out all this information on my own, Why haven't all of our "intelligent" members of the press been reporting this? A phrase that keeps ringing in my ear - "Beware of the enemy from within"!!!

PBS's Gwen Ifill's failure to disclose or recuse herself from the debate is a clear violation of the code of Society of Professional Journalists ethics. Does Ifill belong to this organization and where is the Society of Professional Journalism in enforcing their own ethics with the drive by media?

Journalists should be free of obligation to any interest other than the public's right to know.

Journalists should:

—Avoid conflicts of interest, real or perceived.
— Remain free of associations and activities that may compromise integrity or damage credibility.
— Refuse gifts, favors, fees, free travel and special treatment, and shun secondary employment, political involvement, public office and service in community organizations if they compromise journalistic integrity.
— Disclose unavoidable conflicts.
— Be vigilant and courageous about holding those with power accountable.
— Deny favored treatment to advertisers and special interests and resist their pressure to influence news coverage.

Anti-Palin Ifill will be on her best behavior tonight, of course, trying not to look biased. That doesn't negate the fact that just by moderating the debate, this Obama supporter has raised her profile and the knowledge of the book, promoting and advertising it liberally, and possibly earning herself $350,000 with the book's debut January 20, 2009. Nobody - even an average IQ - could argue that Ifill or her book company didn't think about this when taking the job of moderator. This is a blatant scandal that will not be reported on except by the conservative blogs and right-wing talk shows.

I would like to see if any of the MSM's are on the membership list for this professional membership association. Reading the Society of Professional Journalists' Code of Ethics left me stunned. I don't believe today's MSM's have even read them, nevermind that they make a mockery of them on a daily basis.

Government Fails Home Buyers

We've heard it for the last two weeks - government should make sure that homes don't get foreclosed on. It's a right to own a home, and it's up to the government to make it easier to buy a house. Wrong. If you can't afford to buy a house, you shouldn't get a loan that puts you into debt, that you can't repay. This 1992 study indicates why loaning to bad risks is dangerous.

The Federal Reserve of Boston drew up a Fair Lending Document for mortgage lenders, which was heavily criticized by experts as a derivative of a flawed study–but the objections were ignored. The document stated that: “discrimination may be observed when a lender’s underwriting policies contain arbitrary or outdated criteria that effectively disqualify many urban or lower–income minority applicants.”

The new criteria made it essentially “discrimination” to reject obviously unqualified low income or no income people when providing mortgages. This included people on welfare as well as people who didn’t have a penny as a down payment for a home–or even a job. In short, the new rules declared the old rules “Outdated” and lenders were warned that not following new rules would constitute discrimination.

So under the new criteria, what were the criteria that qualified someone to get a mortgage which Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac would embrace and heavily encourage? I hope you are sitting down:

Credit History: Lack of credit history should not be seen as a negative factor…. In reviewing past credit problems, lenders should be willing to consider extenuating circumstances. For lower–income applicants in particular, unforeseen expenses can have a disproportionate effect on an otherwise positive credit record. In these instances, paying off past bad debts or establishing a regular repayment schedule with creditors may demonstrate a willingness and ability to resolve debts….

Down Payment and Closing Costs:Accumulating enough savings to cover the various costs associated with a mortgage loan is often a significant barrier to homeownership by lower-income applicants. Lenders may wish to allow gifts, grants, or loans from relatives, nonprofit organizations, or municipal agencies to cover part of these costs. . . .

Sources of Income: In addition to primary employment income, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will accept the following as valid income sources: overtime and part–time work, second jobs (including seasonal work), retirement and Social Security income, alimony, child support, Veterans Administration (VA) benefits, welfare payments, and unemployment benefits.

I just want to ask you if you would loan a couple of hundred thousand dollars to somebody based on the above criteria.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac enabled illegal aliens, persons with no jobs, no credit, no responsibility, no vested interest, to get 120% mortgage home loans with no money down. When hard times hit them, they lost their jobs or handled credit poorly, they just walked away from those mortgages because they couldn't care less. Socialist Democrats were irresponsible in creating these government entities.

The government has no business in the mortgage industry and the only ones who benefitted by this fiscal irresponsibility were Barack Obama, Chris Dodd, Frank Raines, Jim Johnson, and the Democrat party.

Or the winner. Does the name Stockdale ring a bell? That name only reminds me of the Hollywood movie and Broadway play "No Time For Sergeants" about a North Carolina rube drafted into the military, starring Andy Griffith. If you are a baby boomer, do you remember the Stockdale that ran for Vice President? I couldn't name him until I was reminded of the painful Vice Presidential 1992 debate between Al Gore, Dan Quayle, and retired Admiral James B. Stockdale?

[Note: As you're watching the short video, pay attention to the introductions of Al Gore and Dan Quayle. Change is not new to politics. Dan Quayle was right in all his predictions of a Clinton presidency.]



Oh, it's coming back now. Admiral Stockdale opened up his first debate with a weak "Who am I? Why am I here?" I couldn't believe how out of place this honorable man was among the two career politicians. The audience's response was applause and laughing at the Admiral's cartoonish introduction, and of course, Admiral Stockdale lost the debate and the election.

You will never think of him again in the same way. What a courageous man Admiral Stockdale was and how proud we should be of our veterans.

The Real Danger to Sarah Palin

Tonight's debate will show where the real danger to Sarah Palin comes from. If she is allowed to be herself, show some humility (maybe say "I don't know" when she doesn't), and speak normally as she did in the debates during her campaign for governor, she will come across as the intelligent, persuasive, charismatic conservative she is. If she is forced to regurgitate talking points, ignore the questions she is asked to "stay on message," and repeat herself ad nauseam, then the liberals within the Republican Party will have shown their true colors.

Let's face it, McCain is no conservative on domestic policy. He was dragged kicking and screaming to conservative positions on taxes and immigration, and still favors government control of political speech before elections. Now he has apparently surrounded Palin with advisors from the Bush camp (more non-conservatives). The results have been painful to watch. Liberals in the Republican Party campaign the same way Democrats do: focus group tested statements on poll tested issues, regardless of the questions asked. The very characteristics that made Palin such an immediate star to conservatives (and the population as a whole), are what McCain's campaign consultants have buried; to the point where the question becomes whether the deconstruction of Sarah Palin is an accident at all.

Anyone who has followed Republican Party politics knows there is an ongoing battle for the soul of the party between liberals and conservatives within the party. True conservatives believe that our ideology is not only correct, but wins elections when real conservatives run on it. Ronald Reagan and the 1994 congressional Contract with America are cases in point. But the liberals in the party are always listening to the consultants, pollsters and focus group mavens to tailor their message to like-minded "moderates" and "independents."

Sarah Palin is an unabashed conservative on all three main political issues: foreign policy, economics and culture. The RINOs (Republicans in name only) are as threatened by Sarah Palin as the Democrats. A charismatic, coherent, consistent conservative? Oh the horror! That is why the fact that Palin is surrounded by liberal Republicans in this campaign is so dangerous. In the long run, they have as much to gain from an implosion of Palin as the Democrats. If they can engineer her collapse in the polls, they will point to her underlying conservative views, not their cynical, liberal, poll driven brand of politics.

Sarah Palin is a breath of fresh air in a Republican Party dominated by "moderate" (meaning liberal) consultants and pollsters. She has the potential to be a long term spokesman for a conservatism that can lead both the party and the country back from the statist/socialist direction the left is trying to take us. As hard as it would be to lose this election, the destruction of Palin politically would cause the Republican Party more serious long term damage.

We will know after watching tonight's debate what the GOP's consultants and handlers put first, their country and party, or their own thirst for control of the party.
