California Target Illegal Aliens

More than 1100 illegal aliens were captured and arrested in three weeks. Participating cities included Santa Ana, San Francisco(shock!)and San Diego. California, it's a start.

Nancy Pelosi Can't Do Anything Right Or Left

The reason for the bailout bill failure was Nancy Pelosi's lack of self control with her vitriolic mouth. She can't even get her own party to vote for her bills. Why couldn't the Democrats pass this bill on their own? They wanted the Republicans to save them? Senior Democrats did not vote for this forced socialism after listening to their constituents!

This has been the worst do-nothing, can't accomplish anything, Democrat Congress in the last 100 years.

House Republicans Voting on First Principles

The bailout bill in the House seems to have failed today. It is essential that true conservatives come to their support and push for a solution to this crisis that actually implements conservative capitalist principles.

There is a central reason socialism fails everywhere it is tried. No one is smart enough to centrally plan an economy. No single politician, group of "economic advisors" or elite group of any kind can anticipate all the potential effects of a given policy. It's like playing four dimensional chess with 250,000,000 pieces.

During the present financial crisis (when isn't there one?), even the conservative experts on economics cannot agree. The Treasury Secretary and Chairman of the Fed say the bailout is absolutely necessary. Alan Reynolds of the Cato Institute calls the bailout "creeping socialism." The Heritage Foundation seems to favor its enactment, while noting that there are "questions" about its constitutionality. A senior Cato Institute analyst sees the bailout as "the least of the evils" of the alternatives available. Dick Armey says the bailout should be rejected, while Lawrence Kudlow says the bailout is a "win-win" for tax payers.

Who to believe? Well, a true conservative knows for a fact that none of these experts really knows what is going to happen with this bailout. If any of them were smart enough to actually centrally run the banking system, then some of them would also be able to run the healthcare system, automobile industry, any part of the economy we want. In other words, socialism would work. But ask the Soviets, Chinese, Cubans and most of Africa how well central economic planning works.

This is an old pattern in this country. The socialist policies of the Democratic Party derail an industry. They blame capitalism. The leftist mainstream media parrots the Democratic Party's talking points. And Republicans more interested in getting re-elected, and hoping to show up favorably in mainstream media news stories and talk shows, try to push for socialism light, which in fact is just one more step on the long march to pure socialism.

There is no question that something has to be done. On this all the "experts" seem to agree. But at some point in time, it would be nice if our Republican leadership would actually come to understand that you do not abandon first principles in a crisis. They are in fact your only hope of not making the situation worse. Socialism created this mess, and more of the same will only, in the long term, make it worse. No one can predict what any bailout will do, but one based on conservative/capitalist principles has a better chance of succeeding, or at least of doing less harm, than any socialist alternative.

It is time for the few conservative leaders we have to stand for what they believe in, as House conservatives have done so far. It is a disgrace that those who created this crisis, the Barney Franks and Chris Dodds, are even involved in formulating the answer to this crisis. It will be a bigger disgrace if Republicans capitulate and let them profit from their monumental failure. If the Republicans cave in on this one, I will vote for McCain/Palin in November, but will vote Democratic on every other federal race. If we are going to have socialism, it is going to fail, and I would rather the Democrats be blamed for it.

Wall Street Tumbles More Than 700 Points In Bailout Backout

UPDATE: 1:49pm Dow Plunges More Than 700 points.

Dow industrials fall more than 600 on fears bailout package vote will fail. Fox reporting more than a thousand to one voter emails,phone calls, and contacts to their Congress representatives against the bailout vote.

Obama, CItizen of the World?

For the first time in the United States since the American Revolutionary War, we have a presidential candidate who was a citizen of another country.

Is being citizen of the world is more important to Barack Obama?
“People of Berlin, people of the world, this is our moment. This is our time,” he declared, offering himself “not as a candidate for president, but as a citizen, a proud citizen of the United States and a fellow citizen of the world.”

Obama’s speech, the centerpiece of his presidential-style sweep of the Middle East and Europe, set a global agenda as expansive and audacious as any contemplated by a candidate for United States president.

Putting Obama in the White House will set forth a new agenda that has nothing to do with the middle class.

In Democrats Own Words: Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac Are Fine

Responsibility for the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac debacle lies (emphasis on the lies) with Democrats Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, Jamie Gorelick (Responsible for 9-11 vulnerability lack of communication) and Frank Raines lying. All of whom benefited from the banking industry lobbyists.

No One Sees God

Ken Blackwell's column on leading Catholic theologian and Templeton Prize laureate, Michael Novak's newest book: No One Sees God: The Dark Night of Atheists and Believers makes interesting reading for those who face combat from secularists and anti-Catholic forces.

In the book, Mr. Novak discusses faith and compassionately engages, with great charity and respect, the new atheist movement. This is a movement led by authors such as Richard Dawkins, Dan Dennett, and Christopher Hitchens. From my readings of their work, the answers they give to metaphysical questions are frequently lacking and often consist only of mean-spirited insults hurled at the reportedly 92% of us who believe in God. Mr. Novak, however, sees the positive in the popularity of these anti-religion books, as they challenge believers to question and carefully exam their own faith.

Novak provides a compassionate explanation of why atheists have difficulty in allowing themselves to believe in the supernaturality of God. If Christians understand where atheists and secularists anti-spiritual beliefs come from, it should be easier to dialogue and possibly provide them with a spiritual window in which they might want to peek and wander in. Sadly, it may not always be their fault in not understanding Christianity since they have no foundation on which to see God.

No One Sees God, The Dark Night of Atheists and Believers is one for the Catholic home library.

McCain's Foreign Policy Trumps Obama's Debate Dare

Debates highlight the importance of being able to communicate your points and expound on policies on your toes without cue cards. The divergency between John McCain and Barack Obama was as different as day and night.

Senator McCain knew how he would handle as president the bailout's cost to America and where he would cut back on tax dollars not spent wisely while Senator Obama kept talking about the programs he would pay for with tax dollars from the United States taxpayers. Obama didn't know what he would cut.

Over and over again McCain's foreign policy experience and long Congressional record reflected who would be the better president in the White House. Barack Obama agreed. He pointed out three times during the debate that John McCain was right. Obama knows. He tried to smile weakly each time McCain hit Obama's lack of action as a Senator. Obama made snide comments like "of course not" when Senator McCain corrected Obama's misinformation. You could hear Obama off-camera snickering nervously when McCain would counter with Obama's lack of experience and poor past judgement. He started to lose control when he interrupted his Republican opponent's time with McCain making and winning his point the more Obama obfuscated.

Obama even got into tense tit for tat stories with the Republican leader midway throught the debate when McCain talked about bracelet given to him by a mother who had lost her military son in Baghdad. Obama couldn't wait to show off his own killed in action soldier's bracelet and tell his story. He was quite proud of having one. Amazing this anti-military politician wearing a dead soldier's dog tag bracelet. Every time Senator McCain would relate a story, Obama struggled and stammered to keep up with McCain.

Obama's annoying debating technique of ending his statements several times on different issues with Senator McCain would agree with him. Obama kept repeating that he and McCain agreed on certain issues, like Russia. He would say "As McCain said, we agree on energy independence." McCain never put himself on the same connected level as Obama. Senator McCain does not agree with Obama but Barack Obama wants to be Senator McCain.

Senator Obama emphatically gave 'great credit' to McCain's anti-torture policy. Again, Obama highlighting why John McCain would be the better president.

When Obama started to attack the military superiority and veteran funding, while stating that he wants health care policies, McCain stuck to his earmark cuts.

McCain ended the debate winning it stoically by relating his bipartisan efforts in bringing our war dead home from Vietnam. It was very touching.

The host, Jim Lehrer did a good job at giving both politicians equal time and time to counter as needed. I was very pleased with his line of questions and follow-ups.

Why They Won't Let Palin Be Palin

Sarah Palin exploded on the national political scene with a gangbuster speech at the Republican political convention just weeks ago. Now she makes appearances and gives a good stump speech, but has only been allowed to give three interviews so far, to Charlie Gibson, Sean Hannity and most recently Katie Couric.

In delivering her convention speech and responding to normal questioning from Hannity, Palin showed the confidence, conservative principles and quick wit that have made her a political star with conservatives. But there have been so few challenging interviews, and her answers are so clearly scripted, that she seems almost Obamaesque when she is out of her element. How can that be?

There are those who think she is being prepared and rehearsed too much. While the left is dying to turn her into the next Dan Quayle, destroy her credibility before anyone has a chance to get to know her. The reality is almost certainly something quite different. There are apparently two problems: Palin is facing some issues she likely has not encountered before, and there are issues on which she and McCain disagree (probably a lot since she is a staunch across-the-board conservative unlike McCain). McCain's consultants don't seem to know how to deal with either of these problems.

The second issue will be the easier to resolve. Remember, Palin is the vice-presidential nominee, and the conventional political wisdom is that a vice-presidential nominee must parrot the positions of the presidential nominee. Think of George Bush Sr. castigating Reagan for "voodoo economics" and then having to pivot and support the very capitalist program he so clearly disliked.

Palin is no Bush though. She is not a life-long politician, accustomed to saying whatever is needed to get elected. More to the point, she is a true Christian, and her ethics likely will not let her outright lie. One of the most refreshing moments of the Palin performance so far was when she was asked about her support of drilling in ANWR and McCain's opposition. When she acknowledged their differing positions and said "I'm working on it," it was refreshing, honest, and showed a strong independent politician who nevertheless understood who the boss was. But the political professionals must have cringed.

It is true that a sitting vice-president must support the policies of the administration, but that does not mean she must abandon her principles. If she is elected, her answers will change to "I gave President McCain my views on the issue, and I fully support the position of this administration." That is the only proper answer for any serving senior administration official. There is no reason she can't give the same type of answer now, without impugning her integrity in the slightest.

The bigger problem is how to deal with issues with which Palin has limited or no experience. Here the McCain campaign has failed her miserably. One of Palin's greatest assets is true, deep-down, Christian humility. McCain has rarely shown any, until his convention speech when I was shocked to hear him speak humbly of how he broke under torture from the North Vietnamese while a prisoner of war. (That was the first time I really felt any respect for McCain, the politician.) But enter the campaign consultants: the Rick Davises, David Axelrods, Karl Roves and James Carvilles of the world.

Consultants, pollsters and focus group mavens like Frank Luntz have destroyed politics in this country. Just as consultants led Detroit automakers all to make cars that are indistinguishable from one another, political consultants have done the same to candidates. And the first rule of modern campaigning is to show not an ounce of humility.

Palin has offered the proximity of Alaska to Russia, and her position as head of the Alaska National Guard as examples of her foreign policy experience. The only sense in which such claims should have been made is in a comparison to Obama's total lack of any such experience. Having initially made the claim though, Palin has since been required to continue making and expanding on those arguments, and they are total losers.

C-Span has shown Palin in several debates in which she participated when she was runnning for governor of Alaska. She is clear, articulate, and quick on her feet. She knows a gotcha question when she sees one, and knows how to deal with it. No one expects her to know every nuance of every political issue this country faces. Admitting her relative lack of foreign policy experience, always while comparing it to that of the Democrat's presidential nominee, would show the humility and humor she radiates when left to her own devices.

McCain's advisors took the tremendous momentum Palin's freshness brought the campaign and trashed it by running one whining, arrogant sounding, accusatory commercial after another. They should have let talk radio and bloggers deal with the "Lipstick on a pig" and "teaching sex to kindergarteners" issues. They should learn from Palin's (and Rudy Giuliani's and Fred Thompson's) use of humor at the convention rather than anger. And they should let Sarah Palin speak for herself, once she has been thoroughly briefed on McCain's positions. The contrast between Palin's Christian humility and Obama's unbridled arrogance was devastating to the Democratic nominee, and could be again.

Very few conservative politicans who make it to Washington stay conservative. Consultants, advisers, lobbyists...all appeal to their egos to change them to protect the broken system from which they make their living. Sarah Palin would be better served by advice from an "elder stateman" like Fred Thompson, than from consultants like Rick Davis or his clones who see her greatest strength - her humility - as a weakness. And McCain has a much better chance of winning if he allows Palin to be herself, and perhaps revisits the issue of humility himself, as he did so eloquently at the convention.

Oh Oh Biden Slips Again

Democrat choice for Vice President Joe "Foot in Mouth, Poster Boy of Plagiarism, Aw Shucks Who Cares If It's Right" Biden (D-DE)should not be allowed to speak live to any audience without a set speech that has been written by someone with intelligence and honesty. The gaffe of the day occurred when Biden stopped speaking from the prepared text in Cincinnati, Ohio Wednesday. He criticized John McCain and made the following statement:
"After seven years...the Bush administration realized the absurdity of its own policy and sent our leading diplomat to Iran. The Assistant Secretary of State as he went to Tehran, sat down at the instruction of the President of the United States."
The sad part of this gaffe is that the incident never happened! What actually happened was that it was Undersecretary William Burns and the country was Switzerland, one of those other small insignificant terrorist countries. Burns, just an observer, sat in on a meeting with other diplomats and Iran happened to be there.

Biden Thanks God For Lawyers Being Corporate America's Problem

James Taranto brings up the next gaffe in a long line of gaffes from Joe "Foot In Mouth" Biden as he sucks up to lawyers during a speech (remember Joe Biden is the Change, the Vice President that Obama thinks you can be proud of and trust):
Standing near Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., Biden also said that if "one more national commentator talks about what a great debater I am, all Claire is gonna have to do is make sure that Sarah Palin, when she's walking on the stage, doesn't trip, and she'll win.

"One of the debates I've had and finally won within the campaign, Claire, is -- we talk about how John McCain's 'changed,'" Biden said. "He hasn't changed a bit. John McCain has not changed one single solitary bit from the day I met him 34 years ago.

"He
[Mccain]has never, never, never, never, never, never, never shared the values set that you share," Biden said. (T - Remember Biden's talking to lawyers) "He's an honorable, decent man, but John McCain truly believes, truly believes that you are corporate America's problem," he said to the trial lawyers. "And thank God you are."

Biden said that he's "done more than any other senator combined" for trial lawyers.

"There are two people -- you've heard me say it before -- two groups that stand between us and the barbarians at the gate," Biden said. "It's you and organized labor. That's it. That is it. So, mark my words, mark my words, if we lose this election, you are going to continue to see a continuation of the onslaught on everything we care about. For real. For real. So, I'm not only thanking you for your help. I would think you're all absolutely brain-dead if you didn't help. And I mean it."

Biden's Long Line of Gaffes

Obama To Congress: Call Me If You Need Me

Wizbang - one of the better political blogs out there - noted last week that much like the last three years in Congress of voting present, not making any decisions, not legislating, Barack Obama is not needed to help resolve the current national financial crisis. He won't show up to lend his wisdom and counsel and the Congressional senators won't be concerned that the Senator Obama isn't there. Obama is still getting his Senator's paycheck though.
True leadership alright. Barack Obama's response?
Obama said he will stay in Florida for the time being and will not return to Washington unless asked by Congressional leadership.

"I've told the leadership in Congress is that if I can be helpful then I am prepared to be anywhere at anytime," he said.
Is this lead by example, Barack? Call me if and when you need me? Barack's flippant remarks are getting to be as common as Joe Biden's foot in mouth disease. The Senator's remarks reminds me more and more of Mayor Ray "Chocolate City" Nagin's incompetent blethering.
Barack Obama, come hell or high water, is going to debate on Friday, even if John McCain isn't there. Barack Obama doesn't need John McCain there to showcase what a personal Saviour he is for America. I can see Obama whining now that McCain's been complaining about debating Obama in bitter townhall meetings for months now, and by golly Obama is going to debate, fiscal meltdown be damned. Barack Obama doesn't care about the country - only his ego.

Biden: Leaders Need To Know What They Are Talking About

Biden: A Democrat Born To Inspire! This man has been in the Senate for 30 years and still doesn't know America's history? Democrats have the nerve to say that McCain is too old and is suffering from dementia? Biden's historic pattern of stupid mouth tricks is embarrassing for the Democrats and I bet Katie Couric was gobsmacked. Is Joe "Poster Boy of Plagiarism" intelligent enough to be Vice President?

Joe Biden remarks that Hillary Clinton and John McCain would be better candidates in this race.

Joe Biden knows what he is talking about with John McCain, but Biden is no leader.

What a "Community Organizer" Really Does

"Community organizer" sounds so uplifting, so caring. Who could be against someone who organizes a community to petition their government, in accordance with their First Amendment rights? But for leftist groups, a community organizer is a member of a self appointed political vanguard. The goal of an organizer in the method advocated by Saul Alinsky is not to help citizens seek redress from their government. It is to build a power base, the single true function of which is to bring down the democratic/capitalist system in this country and replace it with a centralized socialist government led by the leftist elite. The consumer benefits sought by the action groups are merely a means to an end.

Stanley Kurtz of National Review has been writing a revealing series of articles detailing Barack Obama's history as a community organizer in New York and Chicago. He details Obama's close working relationship (at least) with William Ayers, a founder of the leftist terrorist group the Weather Underground. In describing Obama's longest stint as a community organizer with the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, Kurtz claims that Obama's efforts as a community organizer at that time were "largely a failure." But this mistakes the true purpose of Obama's activities at the time.

In 1975, I was a student at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sometime around 1977, I was hired to work as a fund raiser for a group called the Milwaukee Alliance for Concerned Citizens (MACC). The stated purposes of this group were to bring 911 service to the Milwaukee area, change laws regarding generic drugs and other consumer issues. I was hired to raise funds as part of a group who went door to door seeking donations from local residents. We were given lots of information on the different consumer issues and focused our attention on neighborhoods with older residents. I was successful enough in fund raising that I was offered a salaried position as head of the fund raising arm of the group.

At that time, I was recruited by the leaders of the group to become more involved in its overall operation. I was given a number of tracts to read, but was told to focus on Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals." I was told that everything I needed to know about community organizing tactics were in that book. I was further informed that MACC had been formed by a former founding member of the SDS; that the leaders of the movement had learned that the type of violent revolution they had been seeking in the 60s was simply not possible in the United States. People were simply too well off to be mobilized to armed revolt. The movement therefore had to change its tactics, though not its ultimate goals.

Community action groups, local community organizing, were the new tactic of the socialist revolutionaries. Their lack of concern for the targets of their organizing efforts bordered on contempt. Those we had been collecting funds from to run the organization were just too dull to understand the beauty and necessity of socialism. But their money, and later their votes, were the only plausible way left to bring down capitalism. I listened to what they said, went home and read Alinsky, and quit the next day. The Alinsky styled movement of community organizers has become more sophisticated in dressing up its populist message since then, but its tactics and goals have not changed at all.

The sole purpose of community organizing on the left is to acquire power. That is why Stanley Kurtz's description of Obama's efforts in Chicago as a failure is so wrong. Obama joined CAC, and Reverend Wright's church, to build a power base. Little more than 10 years later he is perhaps two months away from the presidency of the United States. Obama's time as a community organizer was a resounding success if one looks at it according to the Alinsky model.

Kurtz notes that Obama was able to steer millions to other Alinsky style community groups. Obama worked well with the corrupt Chicago Democratic political machine and succeeded in getting all real opponents removed from the ballot in his subsequent runs for office. Obama's rise politically is exactly the point of what he was trying to do. The simple fact that the Chicago students in whose name Obama gave millions to leftist groups saw no benefit from that money is irrelevant to Obama, or any other true believer. Their goal is not raising people out of poverty, it is using poverty to gain power through elections. They aim not to improve the educational system in this country (most of which is run by other members of the movement), but to keep the educational system in chaos until they can use the rage of the millions of uneducated to gain power.

There is not a "vast left wing conspiracy" in this country, but there is a movement of committed socialists who have decided to try to do through the ballot box what they could never do through violence. They run our public schools, almost all universities, the mainstream media, most foundations, and certainly the Democratic Party. Obama does not reject Ayers and his violent past because they are fellow travellers in this socialist movement. Their only disagreement may be over tactics.

Don't Hold Your Breath For Massachusetts Health Care

When you get sick, do you have the luxury of waiting 100 days (over three months) to see a doctor? That's how long the Boston Globe says patients have to wait for treatment in 'Universal Health Care Mecca' Massachusetts.

British National Health Care

Canadian Health Care

A Look At Single-Payer Health Systems

Ethics? We Don't Need No Stinkin' Ethics

Barack Obama's first claim to qualification to be president of the United States is his time as a community organizer. Remember, "Jesus was a community organizer...?" Unfortunately for his claim to be a post-partisan champion of change, Obama's time as a community organizer just taught him the same old tired (but dangerous) leftist notion that the ends justify any means. His campaign shows he learned this lesson only too well.

As reported in an article on National Review Online by Mark Hemingway, Obama's first stint as a community activist was in a New York organization that saw it's mission, according to the New York Times, as “winning over students on the political left, who would normally disdain a group inspired by Ralph Nader as insufficiently radical...." This group was one of a natinonwide network of college campus "community organizers" called PIRGs (public interest research groups). Obama later said “I used to be a PIRG guy. You guys trained me well.”

Obama's second community organizer job in Chicago was run by Saul Alinsky's disciples. (Hillary Clinton was hired by Alinsky himself for this same group, while Obama did not come to the group until after Alinsky's death.) The Washington Post noted in this article that Obama's and Clinton's "common connection to Alinsky is one of the striking aspects of their biographies. Obama embraced many of Alinsky's tactics and recently said his years as an organizer gave him the best education of his life."

The training in such organizations, indeed of "community organizers" of the left in general, is based in large part on the bible of the left. Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals. (I was recruited by a leftist community organizer in 1975, and Rules for Radicals was my required first reading. More of that in a later post.) If you want to understand Obama and his tactics (or those of the left in general), this is a must read book. You have to know your enemy, and this book makes it clear that leftist organizers are the enemy of the Judeo-Christian, capitialist, democratic form of country we live in now.

Most important during this election though is what the left's bible has to say about ethics. In Rules for Radicals, Alinsky wrote:
"The practical revolutionary will understand Goethe's 'conscience is the virtue of observers and not of agents of action'; in action, one does not always enjoy the luxury of a decision that is consistent both with one's individual conscience and the good of mankind. The choice must always be for the latter. Action is for mass salvation and not for the individual's personal salvation."
Therefore, an "agent of action" (meaning community organizer, politician etc.) must always choose furthering leftist goals over mere matters of conscience.

In case the message wasn't clear enough, Alinsky went on to say:
"The means-and-ends moralists, constantly obsessed with the ethics of the means used by the Have-Nots against the Haves, should search themselves as to their real political position. In fact, they are passive -- but real --allies of the Haves."
According to Alinsky then, in matters of class warfare, those claiming to represent the "have-nots" are not just justified in refusing to consider the ethics of any available means, but if they do so, they are traitors to the class struggle.

To remove all doubt, Alinsky finally says:
"This (the consideration of ethics in determining whether the ends justify the means) is the nadir of immorality. The most unethical of all means is the non-use of any means." (emphasis added).
Lie about your opponent? (McCain wants to fight a 100 year war in Iraq.) Destroy your detractors with lies and innuendo? (McCain wants to privatize social security and cut benefits in half; Sarah Palin...don't get me started.) Tell one group of voters one thing and tell others the exact opposite? (Think NAFTA and Canada, or small towners who cling to their bibles, guns and bigotry.) Take money from people you know to be corrupt? (Tony Rezko) Undermine your country with its enemies in a time of war? (Negotiating with the Iraqi government to delay negotiations and troop withdrawal until after the election.) Inflame race tensions to get votes? (Blatantly false Spanish language ads about McCain.)

For a leftist like Obama, it is simply not permissible to even question whether any of these means are unethical. The only "unethical" thing he could do according to this perverse philosophy is to not ignore ethics all together in seeking power.

Alinsky is finally getting the attention he deserves....from the right. He has long been an icon, leader and inspiration for activists on the left in this country. Now Rush Limbaugh is making a big issue of Alinsky on his radio show; and others are writing more and more about the pernicious teachings of the man who dedicated his life to fomenting class warfare.

Barack and Michelle Obama both quote Alinsky in their speeches. Their conduct demonstrates that they are true disciples of his teaching: that there is no such thing as objective ethics for the elite left. It is time to shine bright lights from all directions under the rock where the left hides its real beliefs. Obama is an Alinsky disciple to his core, and we simply can't afford that.

Palin's Crash Course In Foreign Diplomacy And Fiscal Responsibility

Not only will save jet fuel (Hey Al Gore and Barack Obama - pay attention!) and taxpayers' dollars, but meeting seven world leaders at the United Nations will provide Governor Sarah Palin immediate global exposure and a great foundation of future foreign diplomacy.

The first-term Alaska governor plans to meet seven world leaders and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger in New York City this week, where the U.N. General Assembly is convening.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On Tuesday she will meet separately with Kissinger, Colombian President Alvaro Uribe and Afghan President Hamid Karzai. On Wednesday she is to meet jointly with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko. She then will meet separately with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Palin also will sit down with rock star and humanitarian activist Bono.
At least we know that Sarah Palin won't violate the Logan Act like Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama did when Obama wanted Iraq to hold off any successful troop withdrawals that would make President George Bush look victorious. An prosecutory investigation should be conducted on the less than honest Democrat presidential nominee who will stop at nothing to win.
Want To Know What An Obama Administration Be Like In A Crisis?
Imagine Barack Obama is president of the United States... okay, try to imagine. An attack on the United States occurs or there is a devastating crisis involving our top cities. What would Obama be like during a national disaster or military emergency? How would his administration handle a world crisis? We saw exactly how inexperience and socialism's lack of self-responsibility and "pass the buck" motto came into play during an inexperienced Democrat Mayor's meltdown in Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.
Remember Mayor Ray "Chocolate City" Nagin's whiny leadership inability as people in his city drowned with hundreds of school usuable buses parked because the school buses weren't good enough? Who got things organized and moving in New Orleans after Katrina? Lt. General Russel Honore and the military led emergency operations to restore order, not the mayor's office, not Democrat Governor Blanco's office. Mayor Nagin called General Honore John Wayne.
A President Nagin/Obama prototype would be disastrous. Obama would be sitting on the floor of the White House asking his 350+ advisors to help him.
John McCain as President with his military background and his leadership abilities, along with a Vice President Palin would be able to weather any crisis with precision decisions and immediate action.
I don't want to take that chance of letting an inexperienced but "present" President have to bear that kind of responsibility. If you can't make a yes or no decision for even one state, how can you be responsible for the entire United States?
Jesus Was Not a Community Organizer
If I hear one more leftist, atheist, mindless talking head say "Jesus was a community organizer, Pontius Pilate was a governor," I swear I will sprain something from laughing so hard. Try as they might, the poor dears simply do not get the whole "God thing."
Newsflash to the Obama campaign and its sycophants: to Christians (78% of the U.S. population): Jesus was not a community organizer, He was the son of God. Or more to the point, He was God.
Most leftists are elitists who use religion as a handy prop. If you want to get elected by a population that believes in God, it is best to act as though you do as well. (I would give anything to strap Obama, Bill Clinton and many others to a lie dectector and ask them a few questions about their beliefs). They can repeat memorized verses with the best of them, but they just don't get what it is really all about.
Jesus did not come to organize anything. He specifically rejected the attempts of others to turn Him into just that. One wonders if anyone on the left has ever heard "render unto Caesar that which is Casesar's, and unto God that which is God's?" Or how about "my Kingdom is not of this world?" Jesus was in fact betrayed because Judas wanted Jesus to be more of a, shall we say, community organizer?
Jesus did not come to organize communities or build a political base. He came to speak the truth to those who would listen. He told us it is our obligation to love (including help) our brothers. He did not group people together to demand support from others. The left will never understand this difference between an obligation to do good, as opposed as a non-existent right to receive that good.
To Christians, Jesus did not try to organize a community, found a local church, or do anything that remotely resembles what "community organizers" do. He came to do no less than save the world from itself. The left is so lost in this area, maybe they should have Charlie Gibson interview somebody about it.
Charlie Gibson Should Move to MSNBC
Charlie Gibson's reading of Obama talking point questions to Sarah Palin was embarassing. Leaning back in his chair, glasses perched on the end of his nose, trying to imitate William F. Buckley (without the intellect), Gibson's condescending demeanor was straight from Keith Olbermann.
In his most obvious attempt to make Sarah Palin look like a religious zealot, Gibson asked the following: "You said recently, in your old church, “Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God.” Are we fighting a holy war?" When Palin said she doubted that that was what she said, Gibson responded "Exact words."
The actual "exact words" of Palin were “Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God,” she exhorted the congregants. “That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God’s plan.” Was Gibson lying, or just woefull unprepared for the interview?
Gibson then tries to make Palin look (to be polite) uninformed by asking her her opinion of the Bush Doctrine. When she asks him to explain what he means by that, Professor Gibson proceeds to get the Bush Doctrine wrong. According to Gibson, "The Bush doctrine, as I understand it, is that we have the right of anticipatory self-defense, that we have the right to a preemptive strike against any other country that we think is going to attack us."
The Bush Doctrine began as the principal that any nation that supported terrorists would be treated the same as the terrorists themselves. That was what Bush proposed in September of 2001 (not 2002 as Gibson misstated). So Gibson was simply wrong. Subsequently that "Doctrine" has been added to and modified to the extent no one can say with authority what exactly it is. But to the extent it has ever dealt with preemptive strikes, it decidedly did not apply to a "country that we think is going to attack us." There has never been any dispute that we have the right to preemptive srtikes in the event of a country preparing to attack us. No one ever said Iraq was going to attack us, not even Colin Powell.
The Bush Doctrine with respect to preemptive strikes expressly denied that any imminent danger, let alone outright attack, was necessry to justify military action to defend this country. The argument was, and is, that the danger of weapons of mass destructions in the hands of a dictator who presents a risk of giving those weapons to terrorists, justifies preemptive action. That was what the whole debate was about, which seemed to pass old Charlie by.
Gibson may not scowl and growl as effectively as Olbermann, and his leg may not tingle with the intensity of Chris Matthews', but he would be more at home on the set of MSNBC where he can more openly give vent to his inner Obamaphile.
UPDATE: ABC Rebuked For Distorting Palin's Answers
UPDATE: LA Times Rebukes ABC For Distorting Palin's Answers
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Palin Gets The Tough Questions From ABC's Charlie Gibson

They won't ask Barack Obama the tough questions about William Ayers and Frank Marshall Davis, or his absences from Congress, or the reasons why he voted "present" instead of yes or no, but liberal MSM's Charlie Gibson's does with his interview with Governor Sarah Palin.

Palin defended a previous statement in which she reportedly characterized the war in Iraq as a "task from God".

Gibson quoted her as saying: "Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God."

But Palin said she was referencing a famous quote by Abraham Lincoln.

"I would never presume to know God's will or to speak God's words. But what Abraham Lincoln had said, and that's a repeat in my comments, was let us not pray that God is on our side in a war or any other time, but let us pray that we are on God's side."

When asked if she believed she was "sending [her] son on a task that is from God," Palin said: "I don't know if the task is from God, Charlie. What I know is that my son has made a decision. I am so proud of his independent and strong decision he has made, what he decided to do and serving for the right reasons and serving something greater than himself and not choosing a real easy path where he could be more comfortable and certainly safer."

When asked if Palin was ready to be Vice President, her response?

"... On January 26th, when John McCain and I are sworn in, if we are so privileged to be elected to serve this country, we'll be ready. I'm ready."

Liberal sympathist and Obama supporting ABC couldn't help themselves by reprinting misinformation about Wasilla city librarion's reasons for leaving her position.

Palin has also recently come under fire for dismissing a librarian while she was mayor of Wasilla in 1996.

The librarian lost her jobs after telling Palin she would not remove books if the mayor deemed them offensive.

Totally false. Left wing MSM's reporting accurately? Not in this day and age. The real story has been available for days here.

Obama Losing Rumor Race

WARNING!

David Mikkelson of Snopes, reports that superstar Messiah wannabe Barack Obama has been at the top of the rumormonger mill for nearly a year. So many unanswered questions that the Obama campaign team had to create a Stop the Smears website (which still doesn't answer the hard questions). I say "has been" because now Sarah Palin is all over the Internet with even more hateful smears and attacks than Obama!

Democrats should understand that now Obama has been put on notice. Obama's star is descending. The Electoral College shows that there is now a 4 vote difference between Obama (193) and McCain (189). His celebrity is tarnished.

Barack is no longer interesting. There is no change in his campaign. Barack Obama with his pick of Joe "Poster Boy of Plagiarism and Gaffes" Biden is same ol' politics. No change. Obama's team is on the defense on real issues, such as judgment, taxes, economy, foreign policy, not being honest about his associations with William Ayers, Frank Marshall Davis, not that Barack Obama is a Muslim. Barack Obama is a Christian, but we know that now he was schooled as a child in an Indonesia madrassa. He kepts interjecting his Muslim memories into his responses. Being a Muslim is part of Obama's life experiences.

The rumors about Sarah Palin are now getting extreme. Charlie Martin, of Explorations blog, has the best (better than Snopes and Urban Legends) and funniest updates on the virile Palindrome and vitriolic P.S.D. (and here) going on right now. p>

This site is a great clearinghouse that has ALL of the Palin rumors, some of which I hadn't heard, and he's has found answers on some that aren't on the usual hoax sites. Palin Rumors is a must read.

These are my favorite (at the moment) top ten stupid claims about Alaskan governor Sarah Palin.

There are at the current time over 70 rumors, truths, and corrections with links on the Palin Rumors website. You're not going to want to miss Charlie Martin's insights. Keep checking it often, this is only the beginning of the lunatic fringe meltdown.

Media Bias Is As Easy As ABC

Watching Sarah Palin's interview by ABC's Charlie Gibson, it was chopped up and taken out of context. The Alaskan governor handled herself well despite being portrayed as a religious fanatic. Carol Platt Liebau and Amanda Carpenter, Townhall bloggers have the actual comments and ABC's slice and dice spin:
I've suspected for some time that the next page in the playbook is to make Sarah Palin sound like some kind of religious wacko (payback, perhaps, for the genuinely offensive Jeremiah Wright?). Here's a prime example, in fact. And a significant omission on Charlie Gibson's part tonight only reinforces my suspicion. Here's the exchange:

GIBSON: You said recently, in your old church, "Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God." Are we fighting a holy war?

PALIN: You know, I don't know if that was my exact quote.

GIBSON: Exact words.

Only problem is that the quote is not a complete one -- and the omission changes its substance markedly.

The full Palin quote is as follows: Sarah Palin was asking listeners to pray that "our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God." That's quite a difference -- but one any real journalist is capable of understanding (Juliet Eilperin put the quote in its proper context in this WaPo piece; MSNBC got it right here.) Rather than declaring, in essence, that God is on our side, she was asking for prayers that we are on His.

The best thing about blogging is that conservatives can correct the bias immediately and stop the drive-by media's hatchet jobs on their enemies. Check out the entire interview at Townhall. Carol links to the biased reporting from Huffington and others. I just refuse to link to the lunatic fringe. I can't handle their hate.

Free Speech Doesn't Extend To Italy's Vatican

Italian comedienne Sabina Guzzanti could go to jail for insulting Pope Benedict XVI in her Dante-esque routine mentioning the Papa.

"...warning everyone that within 20 years Italian teachers would be vetted and chosen by the Vatican, she got to the punchline: "But then, within 20 years the Pope will be where he ought to be — in Hell, tormented by great big poofter devils, and very active ones, not passive ones."

The joke may have gone [down] well with her crowd on the Piazza Navona in Rome, but not with Italian prosecutors. She is facing prosecution for "offending the honour of the sacred and inviolable person" of Benedict XVI.

Remember September 11

On September 11, 2001, 19 Islamic terrorists hijacked 4 American jetliners and murdered over 3,000 innocent people. While this was not the first act of Muslim terror against the Judeo-Christian West, it was the one that finally awoke many in the West to the extent of the risk posed by radical Islam.

Shortly after Pearl Harbor, Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto is quoted as saying "I fear we have awakened a sleeping giant and instilled in him a terrible resolve." This same lesson was soon visited upon the Taliban and Al Queda in Afghanistan after September 11, 2001. The preening Osama Bin Laden to this day cowers in a cave in Pakistan, afraid to even use a cell phone.

After this initial success, in a society infected with political correctness, too many in this country became more concerned with the sensibilities of Muslims than with protecting our country. Out of fear of offending, our response was labelled the "War on Terror." But as many a commentator has already noted, terrorism is not an enemy, it is a tactic. This war is not with the IRA, Black September, or the FALUN. This war is against followers of Islam who take the many passages in the Koran calling for jihad against all non-Muslims at face value. For those who died in the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and United Flight 93, it is irrelevant whether the radicals' interpretation of the Koran is "correct," or held by a majority of Muslims.

The West cannot afford to have its resolve to defend itself be emasculated by politically correct leftist revisionists who blame America for every wrong in the world. Al Queda, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, Syria, Iran, all those who use murder and terrorism as the means to impose their lust for power and perverted views of morality on the world, are our enemies. We began to fight back in Afghanistan. We continued this fight in Iraq. We are now finally following Al Queda from Afghanistan into its sanctuaries in Pakistan. We must continue this fight wherever it takes us.

It is not as though we have a choice between diplomacy and military force. We are being left no choice. Only when we use the force necessary to defeat our enemies do they submit. Quadaffi did not foreswear terrorism and pursuit of nuclear weapons until he saw what happened to Saddam. We should continue to exhaust diplomatic measures to deal with those who threaten us. But the only chance such diplomacy has is when our enemies know we will use force if diplomacy fails. It is time to return to the resolve this administration showed in its first term, to treat those who support our terrorist enemies no different from the terrorists themselves.

Today, the victims in the Twin Towers and Pentagon and the heroes on Flight 93 deserve our prayers and respect. The poor and oppressed suffering under Islamic fascism in Iran, Syria, Palestine and others, deserve our prayers and pity. Those who perpetrate acts of terrorism, and those who support them, deserve our wrath. Let us never forget the horror of this day. If we fail to defend ourselves in this war, we do disservice to those who died seven years ago today. We did not just erect memorials to those who died in Pearl Harbor in 1941, we also fought and defeated fascism throughout the world until it was a threat no longer. Those who perished on 9-11, 2001 deserve no less. May God bless them, and may they rest in peace.

We Cannot Forget

Seven years ago today, time stood still, at least for America. The unthinkable had happened, and we were stunned by the reality of the sight of hijacked airplanes plowing into the World Trade Center and the misery and devastation that ensued. No one will forget where they were or what they were doing as they heard of and saw the unprovoked carnage but more so, no one will forget the anger, sorrow, and fear that welled up within our souls. Our world and our lives were forever changed by the followers of a miscreant version of a religion we knew little of and understood even less. In the name of their God, thousands of innocents were mercilessly slaughtered by the deviant branch of Islam and the assault continues to this day all over the world.

In private, we mourned in shock and disbelief. In public, we asked our leaders how this could come to be. In unity, we vowed that never would this happen again.

We now live in a world that is suspicious of every airline passenger, a world where every email or package you send is under scrutiny and a world that has become cynical and weary from wondering where terror and misery will raise it's ugly head again.

There are few things in life that are certain. For better or worse, Man's need for revenge is one of them. To the adherents of radical Islam, please take notice, we are not done with you yet. You will be brought to justice. We cannot nor will not forget who you are and what you have done. Forever will the memories and images of 9/11/2001 burn in our hearts and in your future forever, you will rue the day you dared to raise a hand to us. May hell hold you in its vicious grip for a thousand eternities for what you have done.

Never Forget!

Today, September 11, 2008, nearly 70,000 people suffer from the 9-11 post traumatic stress, yet millions have forgotten what happened to this country, and millions more wish it would happen again.

My heart breaks every time I think of 9-11 and what happened on that day. God bless all those who died and their families. God bless America! Never Again!

Fact Check

Palin-drome

There is just no stopping them. Liberals are suffering an epidemic of Palin Syndrome: a loss of control of the lips and larynx resulting in the emission of unmitigated stupidity. Like Tourettes for liberals. A single instance of this disease could be called (tongue firmly in cheek) a Palin-drome.

The latest Palin-drome coming from this debilitating disease recently surfaced on Salon's online site. Cintra Wilson starts off light with "Sarah Palin may be a lady, but she ain't no woman." Then the fever starts to grow with "Like many people, I thought, "Damn, a hyperconservative, f***able, Type A, anti-abortion, Christian Stepford wife in a 'sexy librarian' costume -- as a vice president? That's a brilliant stroke of horrifyingly cynical pandering to the Christian right. Karl Rove must be behind it."

As the foam starts to drip on the floor....she continues: "What her Down syndrome baby and pregnant teenage daughter unequivocally prove, however, is that her most beloved child is the anti-abortion platform that ensures her own political ambitions with the conservative right. The throat she's so hot to cut is that of all American women." Followed by the truly classy "I did not think that women being downgraded to second-class, three-holed chattel would be a pressing concern in my lifetime."

We have to do an intervention for these poor people. The only cure for their disease is November 4, 2008. Only after Palin is actually elected vice-president will the sufferers of Palin Syndrome have any hope of reaching closure. Until then, be patient with these poor disabled adults.

Liberal Hatred, The Gift That Keeps On Giving

Sarah Palin simply has liberals foaming at the mouth. On the heels of Obama's lipstick on a pig comment comes the chairman of the South Carolina Democratic Party, Carol Fowler saying ""John McCain had chosen a running mate " whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.” "

Obama, Biden, the mainstream media liberal bloggers, and Democrats everywhere are simply unhinged by the popularity of Sarah Palin. And they simply do not get it. As Obama keeps falling in the polls, expect more of the same.

The vanity of liberals leads them to believe that anyone who disagrees with them is either stupid, evil, or both. Palin, who walks the walk of a real conservative., and is popular to boot, is beyond their understanding. She is also an existential threat to the left. Conservatism with a bright, articulate, attractive spokesman? They have to strangle this baby in the cradle. No way they can let this infant conservative star be born alive.

Another Embarrassing Gaffe For Joe Biden

The Democrat campaign is imploding. Earlier, I had posted that I hadn't heard from Sen. Biden in a few days. Well, we found him. Obama's Messiah persona obviously has worn off on Joe. He was speaking at a rally where he didn't know who or what he was doing and in front of a large crow, commanded Sen. Chuck Graham to stand up. Over and over. When Sen. Graham didn't stand up, Joe Biden looked confused. It was only then that Obama's specially selected running mate noticed that Sen. Chuck Graham noticed something.

Joe Biden is living up to his gaffe-prone reputation.

Joe Biden, (30 year Senator- two time Presidential campaign loser) was overheard to say to Sen. Graham, when he went over to him and shook his hand, "Can you tell I'm new at this?" Biden doesn't deserve to be the Vice President. The United States can't stand the humiliation.

Senator Chuck Graham arrested for DWI Senator Chuck Graham, (D-MO) uses a wheelchair because of a spinal cord injury.

More on Chuck Graham's arrest. The comments are interesting.

Democrat Rep Compares Barack Obama To Jesus On House Floor

This is not a good week for the Democrats. Rep. Steve Cohen, (D-TN) on the record, compares Barack Obama as a community organizer to Jesus (aka the Messiah, the One they've been waiting for) and "a governor" to Pontius Pilate. Are the Democrats that stupid to say these things, not just in public, but on YouTube and Congressional television? The actual phrase was first used by the leftwing loonie blogs. So that's how Democrats are going to change America? Democrats are reading the Daily Kos, Media Matters, and listening to Air America and using their hateful mindless spewing as talking points. They don't have solutions, just rhetoric.

I wonder how the rifles and Bible-holding Christians will feel about this? The Democrats should maybe stick their foot in their lipstuck mouths and just be quiet the next few weeks.

Barack May Think He's Funny

Barack Obama's common sense and judgment is now seriously damaged with voters on his flippant "where life begins above my paygrade" and sexist "lipstick on a pig" anti-Palin remarks, but now the ex-Messiah thinks he's a comedian. CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic reports on Barack Obama speaking at a townhall meeting in Michigan with a speech about John McCain-Palin campaign.
He even found a way to make an answer to a question on civil liberties comical.While speaking about the importance of habeas corpus, Obama said, “We don’t always catch the right person. We may think this is Mohammed the terrorist, it might be Mohammed the cab driver. You may think it’s Barack the bomb thrower, but it might be Barack the guy running for president.”

Three days before the 7th anniversary of September 11th, and Barack Obama is joking about being a bomb thrower? Middle Class Americans won't think comedy routines on the war against terrorism is that funny. Even the drive-by media are getting uncomfortable and noticing that One could be the empty suit that was always prophesied. Word from the wise to Barack Obama? Comedy is not your forte, Big Guy.

This is not a man who is fit to be President.

Bloody Brits For Barack - Who Cares?

There's a reason why the United States started the Revolutionary War. We didn't give a bloody hoot what Brits thought and we wanted them to get out of our lives. John Moody, Executive Vice President of FOX News has this refreshing commentary on the socialist, anti-American Brits that seem to think they can influence our country.

Another fine America-hating British institution, the BBC, paid for a poll of 22,000 non-Americans to ask them who they wanted to be president. Guess what? Nearly one in two prefers Barack Obama. Only one in five wanted John McCain. That leaves 30% who had the right answer: they don’t know who should be president of our –- not their –- country.

The BBC is a socialist government propaganda machine. Until Great Britain can show that their economy, their education system, their health system, and in general, everything they do (Except make a great cup of tea - they do know how to make a great cup of tea.) is better than the United States, they need to sod off.

Joe Biden Who?

Notice how nobody is talking about Joe Biden and he's disappeared from the news? I think his sons' scandals are having an impact that the Obama campaign doesn't want to explode with 'lipstick on his collar' scandal in the news. Wait, that's the Rev. Wright's sex scandal right now.

My, my, my.

UPDATE: Wait, one more time... Joe Biden is in the news. He's been castigated by the USCC Cardinal Justin Rigali and Bishop William Lori on Biden's anti-Catholic abortion beliefs that Biden professed on 'Meet The Press.'

Ready To Smear

House Halts Heist Of Highway

Congress voted 395-18 to end the NAFTA agreement that would give Mexican trucks unlimited access to American highways. (Kudos to all my faithful readers who contacted their Representatives and pushed them to this decision). Although this issue has yet to be brought to a vote in the Senate, the House vote has indicated what the American people feel and the Senate needs to back the House on this one. (Get busy putting the pressure on your Senators, it can and does make a difference).

Obama's Pig Analogy

Walks like a pig, talks like a pig, wears lipstick? No doubt in any intelligent person's mind that Obama's condescending analogy referenced the next Vice President Sarah Palin.

Obama graduated from Columbia and Harvard. He or his staff didn't realize that Palin made a lipstick remark during her speech? They didn't discuss it? It didn't come up in conversation? How often has/does Obama reference lipstick or pigs in his speeches over the last 8 years?

What does this say about Obama's judgment towards women? Sounds more like a catfight hiss from his wife Michelle, than words from a real man.

UPDATE: Red Lipstick On A Pig? Or Green Envy On An Outsmarted Community Organizer?

A bitterly chastened Barack Obama is striking out like a rattlesnake in heat now that a gun-toting, soon to be Grandma from Alaska has stolen his thunder, absconded with his female voters, fleeced five million dollars from Chicago donors who should know better, and ripped off his mojo.

This is what happens in the big leagues of politics when a sexist community organizer casts off a 60s-something feminist and her 18 million votes like so many worthless American flags at a Democratic convention.

Things have gotten so nasty for the Messiah that some experts are no longer certain that the Anointed One will be resurrected and seated at the Right hand of power come November 4.

As one would expect from a community organizer who has never held a real job with adult responsibilities, Barack Obama is not handling this CHANGE well.
He was supposed to be the cool, calm, and collected miracle worker who, we were told, was so charismatic and personable that terrorists like Osama bin Laden and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad would be hypnotized into helpless submission just by gazing into his Jihad eyes.

Terrorists who would normally enthuse at the prospects of stoning a woman to death for the unconscionable act of being a rape victim would be converted into Red Cross volunteers after just three or four minutes of spiritual meditation with the Anointed One.

However, all of that style and class escaped from Obama’s persona when he slithered from the gutter and declared “Lipstick on a pig, still a pig,” an ugly comment created by slimy left-wing bloggers in Obama’s name.

At first blush, John McCain and Sarah appeared outraged by the Obama slam.
Until, that is, pollsters started to report that Obama’s sexist drivel was driving women to the McCain-Palin ticket in droves.

Now the McCain-Palin team is praying that Obama will say something equally as idiotic again, as soon as possible.

Given enough Obama public statements to feast on, the McCain-Palin ticket may be able to win the election without the need to campaign further.

Speak to us again, Holy Community Organizer!

The Issue With Health Care

How do you argue with idiots? Liberals, anti-Bush hatemongers, and anarchists, suffering from GCD (genetic comprehension disability) love to argue.

Conservative talk show host Glenn Beck has logical responses to their rants (even though they aren't going to listen to you).

Argument:

  • 'Just as the Liberal Lion, Ted Kennedy so eloquently said this week, health care is a FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT for all Americans, not just an expensive privilege for the few.'
  • 'But health care can be a matter of life and death...just like the story Hillary told during the campaign about the uninsured pregnant woman who was sick and went to the hospital but was turned away because she didn't have $100, and both she and her baby died...over a measly 100 bucks in the greatest, richest nation on earth!'
  • 'Well I just believe that something has to be done by this government to cover everyone...it's inexcusable in America not to have insurance!'
  • 'It's just sad and pathetic, that in this country, we have such a terrible health care crisis...even Cuba is ranked ahead of us!'

    Your winning, logical, reasoned arguments

    1. First of all, I'd like you to point out where that "right" is spelled out in the Constitution? But while you're looking that up, lets just address your "expensive privilege for the few", statement. The fact is, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, 84% of Americans HAVE health insurance. Now my math may be fuzzy, but that seems like-not "the few", but "the many". In fact, the OVERWHELMING majority. In many cases, it may be expensive, but so are a LOT of things in this country that aren't "rights"...like auto insurance or homeowners insurance...which are things we are forced by law to have, but the government doesn't provide.

    2. Well unfortunately, that woman and her baby did die, that's true. However, she was NEVER turned away, she did receive treatment (she just couldn't be saved), and she DID have health care insurance. In fact, it is against FEDERAL LAW to deny health care to someone who needs it. It is illegal in this country. In addition, there are in nearly every city in America, hospitals who treat patients every day who have no way of paying. There are also thousands of clinics and programs to help those who can't pay catastrophic medical bills.

    3. It's inexcusable that some people don't own their own homes. Is a permanent place to live ALSO a fundamental right? Some people don't own a car. If they cannot afford one, should one be provided for them by the government? Where does it end? Flat screen TV's? The right to keep and bear a washer/dryer set? If you do not have a lawnmower, one will be provided for you by an illegal alien? How much can or SHOULD the government do?

    4. Is that why when Cuba's leader Fidel Castro, was on his death bed he was flown halfway around the world to get medical care?

Glenn Beck has great intelligent (and mind-boggling to the liberals) responses on how to argue with idiots on these other conservative issues:

The Arguing Against Idiots Archive is a must read for conservatives who want to be able to make your point without duct-taping your head. You won't regret it.

These Female Broadcasters Should Have Gone Home

Michelle Malkin has excellent examples of female broadcasters who should stay homne and take care of their families. These women have no business in the workforce while their families need them at home. She cites CBS's Katie Couric, CNN's Soledad O'Brien and Campbell Brown, NBC's Meredith Viera as being complicit with and prime examples of the liberal left's sexist policies of denigrating working women with the attacks on Sarah Palin.

The Sisterhood of the Protected Female Liberal Journalists

UPDATE AND CLARIFICATION: Librarian Wasn't Fired!

UPDATE: News to me tonight. James Taranto, wrote "Putting the Lie in Library" from the "Best of the Web," the Wasilla librarian wasn't fired. She made it through the employee interviews when former Mayor Sarah Palin brought in her own staff. The city librarian resigned two months [Edited: before] Mayor Palin began her second term.

Palin told the Daily News back then the letters were just a test of loyalty as she took on the mayor's job, which she'd won from three-term mayor John Stein in a hard-fought election. Stein had hired many of the department heads. Both Emmons [i.e., Baker] and Stambaugh had publicly supported him against Palin.

Emmons survived the loyalty test and a second one a few months later. She resigned in August 1999, two months before Palin was voted in for a second mayoral term.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now any ignorant liberal repeating this piece of tripe really will look 'left behind.'
"So Why Was The Librarian Fired?"
UPDATE: I've received several comments from readers with "Okay, T, so why was the Wasilla librarian fired?" and "So what books did Palin want banned?"
The answer is that there is no evidence that Palin wanted any books banned. It's hearsay from the librarian and the Association of Dissed Librarians aka "Librarians Against Palin."
Two city newspapers did not mention the book-banning incident at all when reporting the city resignations here and here.
So why was the librarian fired?
Using her gut instinct the new Mayor Palin felt (Who knows what happened with actual events, employees talking in the break room, whispers from citizens) that she was/would be undermined by the employees who vocally supported her opponent during the campaign. Just as with all new candidates, i.e. mayors, governors, presidents, chairmen of the boards, when a new person is elected, they have the prerogative to select who stays and who goes. It's the downside but real aspect of politics. All presidents have done this, but when Bush did it when he came on board, the Democrats had the Department of Justice investigate him for firing nine state attorneys that had supported Clinton. But nobody said anything when Clinton had previously done the same thing with 93 attorneys when he came into office before Bush.
SARAH PALIN'S BANNED BOOK LIST
Thank goodness for the bloggersphere. Michelle Malkin has come up with P.D.S. alerts, an acronym for Palin Derangement Syndrome Alerts. These are for the conservative who needs to be able to refute the leftist hatemongering and deceitful rumors that desperate Obama liberals are spreading out in the bloggersphere. The latest are that Sarah Palin as Wasilla's mayor wanted to ban books in the city library.
Upon being made mayor, Sarah Palin did ask for the resignation of the Wasilla city librarian who was a vocal supporter of other candidate running for mayor. Could that be the reason that a copy and paste [Edited: the actual] list of banned books [shown below] by the Evans Library Intellectual Freedom and Censorship group's 'Books Banned in the United States' shows up as the same one Sarah Palin is supposed to have asked for? The trumped up, spurious list includes books that weren't even published in 1996, i.e. Harry Potter which wasn't published until 1998. You would think a librarian maven would know better. But leave it to the ignorant left who believes everything they are told or shown to think it's true.
STACLU reported that it a ppeared that Obama's website did help stoke the fires of Palin banning books but quickly took it down when it was reported to be false.
Honestly, folks... can anyone see any conservative trying to ban the books of Shakespeare, the Living Bible, Huckleberry Finn, Tarzan of the Apes, and Webster's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary?
I don't mind a different opinion as long as one can legitimately express why they have such beliefs without using ad hominem attacks and loony talking points. I expect veracious, straightforward debate and dialogue, with integrity from opponential politicial parties, not grasping at libelous, pathetic straws. The left needs to get a grip.
This is the list of books Palin is supposed to have tried to ban.
Obama's Muslim Faux Pas Starting To Add Up
This is a long time coming post but since Obama's latest Muslim slip of the tongue and combined with his previously thought of as a simple mistake of visiting 57 of the United States, now we know it really wasn't a mistake. It was Barack Hussein Obama's Muslim childhood upbringing coming to his mind. The Organisation Of Islamic Conference has 57 Muslim states.
How the Islamic States Dominate the UN Human Rights Council
Every year from 1999 to 2005 the Organization of the Islamic Conference, representing the 57 Islamic states, presented a resolution to the UN Commission on Human Rights, called “Combating Defamation of Religions”. While the text of the resolution referred to all religions the preamble made it clear that the sponsors’ concerns related primarily to one religion: Islam. The resolution was adopted every year by typically a two thirds majority. By 2005, the Commission for Human Rights had become widely discredited. In the words of then UN Secretary General Kofi Annan “.. the selectivity and politicizing of its activities [were] in danger of bringing the entire UN system into disrepute”. The Commission was abolished by vote of the UN General Assembly in 2006 and replaced by a shiny new Human Rights Council which met for the first time in March 2006. Hopes were soon dashed however that the newly elected 47 member states of the Council – each pledged to uphold international human rights law - would behave any differently from the 53 members of the old Commission. Of the first four resolutions passed by the Council, three were resolutions condemning Israel. Whatever breaches of human rights law Israel may have committed, it beggars belief that these were the only violations of human rights on the planet worthy of condemnation by the Council. By way of contrast, the Council adopted a resolution which inter-alia congratulated the Sudan for its efforts to bring peace to Darfur.
Only those who have been through war, know what hell it is. Giving hope to people who long for freedom is never a mistake.
Matthews & Olbermann: You're Outta There
Nothing is more telling about liberals' ineptitude and weakness than when the going gets rough, the losing network bails out. First Air America bombs, and now Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann have been replaced on the 2008 Presidential debates because they couldn't keep their unmitigated bias and idiotic remarks to themselves while hosting shows. The MSM's are realizing slowly (mainly because they lack a genetic comprehension gene - GCD)that the average middle class American (and likely voter) does not like negativity, vitriole, and anti-conservative and anti-American remarks. While they wail and gnash their teeth at Rush Limbaugh's, Fox New's and O' Reilly's ratings, they made excuses and denied that their own anti-Bush hatemongering are the reason why they don't have viewers or listeners.
John McCain has pulled into an incredible ten-point lead this late into the campaign because of his excellent choice in Vice President nominee Sarah Palin.
Sit down Chris and Keith and learn from the professionals what fair and balanced really mean.
Obama Slips Up And Mentions His Muslim Faith
This slip up is indicative of Obama's ingrained multi-religious background which means at one time, he thought of himself as Muslim. Barack Obama doesn't know who he is which makes his long pauses, getting his thoughts together, not voting directly yes or no, and not answering questions about his judgement on issues, more understandable. It's also why the Islamic countries and other enemies want Obama to win. They know he empathizes with them and will be open to direction.
Why Obama Was Not A Trial Lawyer
Overheard in chatroom:
Maybe Obama didn't do trial work because he could not have his clients plead "present."
Chris Matthews To-Do List For Obama
On NBC's Chris "I have tingly leg syndrome" Matthew's show this morning, Matthews had this to-do list for the love of his life, Senator Obama, to win the White House:
  • Build Commander-in-Chief credibility (so Matthews realizes Obama's credibility is a liability.)
  • Continue building turnout (Matthews said the key is new voters. New voters who are naive and ignorant of Democrat policies?)
  • Keep tying McCain to Bush (With lies, lies, and more lies, Chris? McCain isn't tied to Bush, anymore than Obama is tied to Islam.)
What is Matthews well intentioned advice for John McCain?
  • Project a positive economy/energy message (That's what McCain does - it's the Democrats that are the party of Doom and Gloom whining. Next?)
  • Appeal to swing voters (Done - Independents, Hillary Democrats, and Feminists are coming over to Republicans to vote for McCain.)
  • Keep dodging Bush (Chris, this is your delusion, not reality. Bush isn't running again.)
Calling McCain the Happy Warrior, Matthews condescending, snide remarks are nothing but desperation dripping down his leg. Adding their haepennies' worth of whines were liberal mouthpieces, Michelle Norris, Joe Klein, Andrea Mitchell, and John Heilemann, The New Yorker, who you could tell by their faces how unhappy they are that more viewers turned into the Republican National Convention than the Democrat National Convention and other past conventions, were showing how much they want McCain to lose.
The Problem With Bi-Partisanship
One of the best things about Sarah Palin's entry onto the national stage is the chance, just the chance, that eventually we will have a conservative leader who will not feel the need to preach "bi-partisanship" in hopes of getting people to like her. The thirst for popularity of all too many supposedly conservative leaders leads them to praise the concept, without a clue of what it actually means.
Liberals favor socialist solutions to economic problems; abortion on demand; sexual permissiveness, even providing condoms in schools; and abdication of military force as a means of protecting the country.
Conservatives favor capitalist solutions to economic problems; protection of human life, even before birth; the Judeo-Christian ethic; and reluctant but forceful use of the military when the country is in danger.
"Bi-partisanship" means compromise between these two completely irreconcilable world views. What liberals mean by bi-partisanship is conservative capitulation. What conservatives usually mean by bi-partisanship is....essentially the same thing. They just don't admit it, even to themselves.
Take healthcare, for instance. Conservatives know that the healthcare system in this country has been horribly disfigured by government interference. The federal government enacted tax laws that made it almost mandatory for anyone wanting health insurance to seek it through their employer. State governments then stepped in and defined the policies and benefits that insurance companies and employers had to provide, causing premiums to soar. And liberal judges allowed malpractice judgments to skyrocket, again driving premiums (and thus doctor's bills) even higher.
These distortions have grossly inflated the cost of healthcare, kept millions from being able to afford it, and even resulted in doctors leaving their specialites, or at least the states they practiced in. Liberals then use the results of their own malfeasance to claim that they are the ones who should fix the system. And how will they do this? Why with more government control of healthcare, of course. The socialist's answer to failures of socialist programs is always more socialism.
A true conservative realizes that the only way to fix the socialized problems of our healthcare system is to get the government out of it all together. Provide subsidies and assistance for those who cannot afford healthcare in a true free market system, but allow the vast majority of the rest of the population to decide for themselves what to buy and when.
Independents and "moderate" Republicans then chant...we have to compromise. We have to have a bi-partisan answer. But that is simply impossible. Liberals want more government control of healthcare (and everything else), and true conservatives want less. How do you compromise on that? Most conservatives like Mitt Romney who try, end up just buying into a toned down version of the liberal/socialist answer. They figure that they can at least limit the harm done to the system by further government action. But they are, always and every time, wrong. The inevitable result of the creation of any government bureaucracy is the expansion of that bureaucracy.
The same analysis can be made of our failing inner-city public schools; the mortgage markets, and on, and on. Socialism has been rejected by conservatives primarily for the simple reason that it does not work. It may take years, even decades to fail, but government control of any portion of the economy always fails. No one, of any party affiliation, is smart enough to design solutions to the problems of an economy encompassing almost 300 million people. The trial and error of thousands of entrepeneurs is how capitalism ultimately solves any such problems.
It is the desire to be liked, the vanity, of our leaders (John McCain?), that lead them to ignore this simple truth. Someone who believes that government interference in the economy makes things worse cannot compromise with someone who thinks that the government is the solution to every problem. Someone who believes that every innocent human life is sacrosanct, cannot compromise with someone who does not. (Let's only have 500,000 abortions a year?) Someone who believes that we have the right and duty to defend ourselves, even militarily, cannot compromise with those who view our country and culture with derision.
A leader who is already popular, whose popularity is not a product of the approval of the New York Times, Washington Post, or the solons of the Sunday talk shows, does not need to preach the snake oil of bipartisanship to get elected. Here's hoping (praying fervently actually) that Sarah Palin, or someone like her, has the strength to stand up to the never ending siren's song of bi-partisanship.
Rasmussen Polls: McCain/Obama Tied 46%
The selection of conservative's new love, Sarah Palin, the most popular governor in the United States, has bounced McCain to a dead heat between Obama.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday, September 7, shows the race for the White House is tied.
In the first national polling results based entirely on interviews conducted after Sarah Palin's acceptance speech, Barack Obama gets 46% of the vote and so does John McCain. When "leaners" are included, it's all even at 48%.
US Government Take Over Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac
The two mortgage behemoths have gotten too big for their britches.
Falling home prices, which are expected to lead to more defaults among the mortgages held or guaranteed by Fannie and Freddie, contributed to the urgency, regulators said.
The details of the deal have not fully emerged, but it appears that investors who own the companies' common stock will be virtually wiped out; preferred shareholders, who have priority over other shareholders, may also end up with little. Holders of debt, including many foreign central banks, are expected to receive government backing. Top executives of both companies will be pushed out, according to those briefed on the plan.
The Government Needs To Go Out And Find More Money!!!
Democrat strategist, Reta Lewis, on "Your World with Neil Cavuto" discussed Nancy Pelosi's call for another stimulus package to go out to citizens immediately. This is nothing more than taking what tax dollars you're paying in now and giving it back to you before you pay it. Confused? Most citizens don't understand Economics 101. Sadly most Democrat strategists dont understand it either. Clinton and Washington insider Lewis insists that the second stimulus package is necessary. This is a portion of the unbelievable exchange:
Neil Cavuto: "Reta, do we have the money for this?"
Reta Lewis: "Let me tell you something, let me tell you something, Neil. When you go out in small town America, that they're out there talking to...whether it's on the Democratic side or Republican side, what are they saying to you? If you axed them about a second stimulus, they're saying 'absolutely.' Why not? Because why?
Warning: Get the duct tape ready.
Reta Lewis continues: They are trying to pay their bills! And they want Congress to go out there and find that money! They're not talking about whatever else is going on. It's right ..."
Neil Cavuto: "So, so, Reta, Reta, Reta,..."
Reta Lewis: "... it's pocketbook issues."
Neil Cavuto: "So the 95 plus percent of people who are keeping up with their bills and paying off their mortgages. Are you talking to them? Are they kosher on this? That, that you know, yeah, go ahead, more government. I'll be happy to bail out these folks. Just, just keep it coming. Are you talking to those people? Cause I actually do and they're not, they're not for that.
Reta Lewis: "No, Neil, I don't think it, when you say 95 percent, you mean you're going to have to prove that number to me. Cause when you go out to these small town America..."
Neil Cavuto: "Whoa, whoa, whoa... no, no, no, no."
Reta Lewis: When you got out to small town America, that's not what they are saying."
Neil Cavuto: "Do you know how many people...what percentage of mortgages are running thirty days or more late?"
Reta Lewis: "You know what? I don't know the number on that. But you know what, we hear it, every day about foreclosures."
Neil Cavuto: "You know what? Because I'm the money nerd here, I do.
Reta Lewis: "What is it?"
Neil Cavuto: "It's about two percent of all mortgages."
Reta Lewis: "It's about two percent of all mortgages? So we're not supposed to help that percentage out there that's hurting?
Neil Cavuto: "No, no, no, I'm not saying you're... I'm just saying the other large overwhelming percentages is wondering ... 'hey, hello?' You know? You've got your priorities screwed up here. You are already bailing out those who are behind, some of them got into their own pickle. And, and we're footing the bill!
Reta Lewis: "I don't think they're..."
Neil Cavuto: "They're saying 'Cool it, cool it. We don't have the money for this.'"
Reta Lewis: "I dont think this is all about the mortgage payment. I think the people who are getting this stimulus packages are paying their bills. They're paying their gas bills. They're trying to put gas in their car. You know, we're getting ready to go into their winter months. They're trying to heat their homes. They're trying to pay off their credit cards!!
Neil Cavuto: I know, but is it the government's... so I'm falling behind on my credit cards, I'm falling behind on my gas bill. I can't... I don't ... I can't get a coat. All of a sudden. You know what? Maybe Reta and her buddies will help me. Reta, this is America, right?
Reta Lewis: "No..."
Neil Cavuto: "This is the same country my parents grew up in. My boot straps. You try to look at yourself. Americans take care and look after each other. Mean I don't see where any of you guys are looking uh uh at private solutions where you go back to the lenders and say 'Can you renegotiate? Can you help them out?' But no, the immediate resort is the first resort: Uncle Sam will pick up the tab."
Reta Lewis: "I, I don't think the immediate resort is Uncle Sam will pick up tab. I think what happened when we passed this housing bill before Congress went on recess where you really saw a very very aggressive effort in the House and the Senate, by Pelosi and her team, and by Harry Reid and his team, trying to make sure that we bring these lenders to the table. Why should we always now just blame the..."
Please, second warning: Duct tape now!
Neil Cavuto: "You, you, you know Reta..."
Reta Lewis: "blame the poor little homeowner?" Come on, Neil we can't do it.
Okay, I can't go on transcribing... I don't have my head duct-taped. Obviously Reta Lewis's degrees isn't Economics. It's the government's responsibility to find money to give to people. Democrats don't want to blame the poor little homeowner.
If the poor can't pay off their credit cards, no wonder they can't handle a mortgage! Who's fault is that? Who gave them the credit card in the first place? Let the lenders eat it and if the banks and mortgage companies go out of business. Oh well. The American folks who are paying their bills on time don't need to be bailing out anyone.
More Viewers Watched Palin Than Celebrity Obama
Over 40 million viewers took time in their hectic day to listen and watch Sarah Palin give her acceptance speech despite several liberal channels not showing Palin's speech. Barack Obama's Superbowl acceptance rated 37 million viewers. Obviously more liberals had to see the competition than conservatives.
An audience of 37.2 million people watched Palin on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox News Channel and MSNBC, Nielsen Media Research said Thursday. PBS estimated its audience at 3.9 million, based on a less reliable sample of several big cities. Nielsen does not count the audience for C-SPAN, which also showed the speech.
Last week, Nielsen said 38.4 million people watched Obama speak at a Denver stadium on the six commercial networks, along with BET, TV One, Univision and Telemundo - four networks that didn't cover Palin's speech. PBS added an estimated 4 million to that total.
Guess conservatives don't need to waste their time seeing the second coming of the Messiah wannabe.
Joe Biden's Character
As always during political elections, urban legends, mistruths, and hoaxes pop up such as the ones being assailed towards Sarah Palin. The current email going around the country regarding Joe Biden's inability to pay his bills though is not a hoax. The complainer who had been stiffed sent the email privately to Joe Biden's relatives and it made it's way outside the family whispers to the Internet.
Joe Biden is the good ol' boy, typical Washington political 'insider' according to the usual political processes. He's a confirmed plagiarist and liar and now we know he doesn't pay his bills.
Joe Biden was one of those people. I worked on his 1988 Presidential campaign financial disclosure engagement. I busted it for him and got everything right. He stiffed me for over $15,000 worth of work. He refused to pay once he dropped out of the race. I did similar Capitol Hill campaign financial disclosure work for Bob Dole, Pat Buchanan, and a Democratic candidate for Ambassador to New Zealand. All of those folks paid even though they lost the election or did not get the appointment. That type of work is very demanding and very tedious because your efforts are scrutinized by Congress. Biden did not care.
I am on the Board of Directors of a company that owns a majority position in a private jet management company in Northern Virginia. They manage jets for businesses and rich folks. They also charter planes to the public. This past winter John Thompson chartered over $250,000 worth of air time. He paid every penny.
Joe Biden, in his latest unsuccessful run for President, chartered over $150,000 worth of air time. He PAID ZERO. He continues to refuse to pay stating his race is over and he is out of money. He never once complained about his flights. Joe Biden is a rich man. He could pay.
Joe Biden is a liar and a cheat. I know it first hand. Character is what life is all about. Joe Biden is a man of bad character and sets a bad example for America.
I feel compelled to share this dark side of a man who asks for your vote and trust.
Is Joe Biden someone you would trust with your hard earned money? What does this say about Obama's judgement of character and his running theme of "change you can believe in?" Not according to the people who have dealt with Obama's vice president.
Obama's Community Work
Michelle Malkin's incredible research is a boon to those investigating Barack Obama's campaign and character. Liberals incensed by the condescending tones of Giuliani, Thompson, and Palin's speeches of Obama's career can't believe what they are hearing. Leftwing bloggers try to twist the conservatives comparisons to assaulting church and social services aid to those less fortunate don't tell the whole story. Michelle's column this morning highlights exactly what Barack Obama did as a community organizer.
Obama's community organizing days involved training grievance-mongers from the far-left ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). The ACORN mob is infamous for its bully tactics (which they dub "direct actions"); Obama supporters have recounted his role in organizing an ambush on a government planning meeting about a landfill project opposed by Chicago's minority lobbies.
With benefactors like Obama in office, ACORN has milked nearly four decades of government subsidies to prop up chapters that promote the welfare state and undermine the free market, as well as some that have been implicated in perpetuating illegal immigration and voter fraud.
Since I last detailed ACORN's illicit activities in this column in June (see "ACORN: O's Ugly Ally," PostOpinion, June 26), the group continues to garner scrutiny from law enforcement:
* Last week, Milwaukee's top election official announced plans to seek criminal investigations of 37 ACORN employees accused of offering gifts to sign up voters (including prepaid gas cards and restaurant cards) or falsifying driver's license numbers, Social Security numbers or other information on voter-registration cards.
* Last month, a New Mexico TV station reported on the child rapists, drug offenders and forgery convicts on ACORN's payroll.
* In July, Pennsylvania investigators asked the public for help in locating a fugitive named Luis R. Torres-Serrano, who is accused "of submitting more than 100 fraudulent voter-registration forms he collected on behalf of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now to county election officials."
* Also in July, a massive, nearly $1 million embezzlement scheme by top ACORN officials was exposed.
ACORN's political arm endorsed Obama in February and has ramped up efforts to register voters across the country. Meanwhile, completely ignored by the mainstream commentariat and clean-election crusaders, the Obama campaign has admitted failing to report $800,000 in campaign payments to ACORN. They were disguised as payments to a front group called "Citizen Services, Inc." for "advance work."
Sarah Palin's Executive Decisions Scare Democrats
Sarah Palin, the new face of the Republicans, is scary to the liberals, the Democrats, and to anti-Bush MSM's. Looking for dirt in any way possible, the leftist pundits spin Palin's administrative decisions in her career as symptoms that she's not ready to lead. In reality Palin's 'barracuda' decisions as mayor and governor show extreme business acumen and political savvy. This is one woman that who realizes that hard decisions need to be made in the light of business and municipal development and what is good for the city.
Florida small cities faced similar growth pains to one time Alaskan Mayor Sarah Palin's Wasilla. Rising from having many small towns with little worry about serving 5,000 residents to hiring more highly specialized employees and administrators that create sound infrastructures that could handle an influx of 30,000 to 50,000 newcomers. Wasilla had good ol' boys out of high school, that were city councilmen and 20-year municipal employees running the administration office, city water, sewer, and utilities where the only tools needed were a telephone, typewriter, big monkey wrench, pipes, and some duct tape to fix problems. Wasilla needed to come into the 21st century to implement state and federal mandates using the latest industrial and utility technology and pollution controls involving computer software and college engineering degrees. Top off an escalating volatile situation by voting a woman in charge who used a velvet glove with brass knuckles underneath and you have bruised, angry male egos and their wives who have to live with them.
Articles by "The Nation" the 143-year old left's anti-war newspaper, portray Mayor Palin's actions of firing and hiring competent people as a sign of poor leadership and bad management, when in reality, she made the right decisions for Wasilla. What can you expect from a newspaper that has Tim Robbins on it's board of directors?
What happens to leaders when they replace the 'Old Guard'? They [ Edit: the old status quo folks] get pissed. Nobody likes to be fired and what was wrong with the way they had been doing it for the last one hundred years? Times change. Cities have to prepare for the future of their residents, build parks, schools, and create business opportunities. Good city managers shrink budgets, bring in jobs, make hard decisions to cut taxes here but then raise them in other areas, and bring in competent advisors on financial matters. As always with the left, disgruntled employees, and oblivious observers, there is whining and negativity. This is The Nation's leftist perspective of what happened in Wasilla:
During her mayoral administration most of the actual work of running this small city was turned over to an administrator. She had been pushed to hire this administrator by party power-brokers after she had gotten herself into some trouble over precipitous firings which had given rise to a recall campaign.
Sarah campaigned in Wasilla as a "fiscal conservative." During her 6 years as Mayor, she increased general government expenditures by over 33%. During those same 6 years the amount of taxes collected by the City increased by 38%. This was during a period of low inflation (1996-2002). She reduced progressive property taxes and increased a regressive sales tax which taxed even food. The tax cuts that she promoted benefited large corporate property owners way more than they benefited residents.
Is that what really happened? Could it be looked at from another perspective , possibly a conservative point of view? Here's the 2006 Anchorage Daily News article on Sarah Palin's tax cuts as Mayor:
This year, an accomplishment mentioned perhaps most often by Palin's supporters is that she cut taxes as mayor of Wasilla. Ironically, she took her first steps into local politics with the intent of preserving a controversial new tax and expanding local government.
In 1992, when Palin first ran for city council, Wasilla had just adopted a 2 percent sales tax and was setting up a police department. The 28-year-old Palin was approached by several council members to help them fight off anti-tax elements, who were saying no new stores would ever come to Wasilla if it had a sales tax. A 1992 Palin ad called her a "new face, new voice," who would work for "a safer, more progressive Wasilla."
As it turned out, the new sales tax built the infrastructure that turned Wasilla into the Mat-Su area's commercial hub. Booming sales tax revenues also made possible Palin's other tax cuts after she became mayor in 1996.
To become mayor, however, Palin had to bump off three-term incumbent John Stein, who had ushered in the sales tax and police force. Three terms were enough, she said. He had lost touch with the community. It was time for a change. The voters agreed.
Wasilla's growth was taking off, and Palin pushed for bonds to build sewer, water and roads. New big-box stores wanted to be in the city so they could get sewer, water and police protection, even if it meant being annexed. Palin's city was not necessarily an aesthetic crown jewel, especially along the Parks Highway, but the long snake of stores was doing good business. Sales tax revenues grew by half a million dollars a year. Much of the revenue was coming from people who lived outside the town.
Palin was able to cut property taxes by three-quarters while eliminating small taxes such as the personal property tax and the business inventory tax. She wasn't doing this by shrinking government, however: The cost of running the growing city, apart from capital projects and debt, rose from $3.9 million in fiscal 1996 to $5.8 million in fiscal 2002. Excess sales tax revenues went to paying for capital improvements such as roads and government buildings, says city finance director Ted Leonard.
Palin had priorities. She shrank the local museum's budget and deterred talk of a new library and city hall. But she also put in bike paths and obtained funds for storm-water treatment to protect the area's many lakes. She successfully pushed a half-percent sales tax increase to build a $15 million multi-use indoor ice arena. The popular sports complex is not breaking even, as its advocates projected, but the city's subsidy has been cut from $600,000 to $125,000 a year.
A like-minded majority on the city council smoothed her way. That's not to say her six years as mayor went smoothly, especially at first.
After turning out the three-term incumbent, Palin brought in an outside attorney, with city funds, to advise on the transition. She asked for resignation letters from six top department heads, saying they'd signed a letter supporting their former boss. She fired two of them -- the police chief and the museum director -- but within a year two others had quit. With the local newspaper, the Frontiersman, upset about the uproar, a citizens group started meeting to discuss a recall of the new mayor. The idea was eventually dropped.
Palin has cited her mayoral work as a central part of her qualification to serve as governor. But at the beginning of her term, asked by the local newspaper how she would run the city without experienced department heads, she made the job sound like no big deal: "It's not rocket science. It's $6 million and 53 employees."
Battling over appointments to vacant city council seats, Palin said at the time, "Some of the things I'm doing, it's obvious I'm not running for Miss Congeniality. I'm running the city."
Sarah Palin doesn't mind making the hard decisions and ultimately, some taxes are necessary for municipal revenue and upkeep. It's knowing when those taxes are no longer needed, giving citizens back their money, and leaving a legacy of good infrastructure to carry the city and state through the next generation. Wasilla is growing strong, nearly doubling it's population in less than three years.
Governor Sarah 'Barracuda' Palin knows from experience what this country will need and will be a good sounding board for John McCain. The Democrats know her animosity towards "good ol' boys" and will do everything in their power to rattle voters' cages to get them to change their votes by broadcasting negative articles about her past.
The important factor is that John McCain isn't rattled by cages anymore. Choosing Sarah Palin as his conservative Vice President was the first step towards returning conservatives to the Republican party.
McCain Delivers Great Speech
Despite a boring and blah first two speakers, Senator Lindsey Graham, (R-SC) and Governor Tom Ridge (R-Pa), the night evolved into bringing the Republicans together. In a touching speech, John McCain told his life story, his plans, his policies, and showed what a remarkable man he was. For the for the second time, second night in a row, I was moved to tears by a political speech. This was the best I've seen McCain talk but I really don't think he's a great speaker. Give me Sarah Palin any day!
Just for the liberally hearing-disabled with genetic lack of comprehension, the Architect, Karl Rove kept track of everything that John McCain's speech contained:
  • 67 Paragraphs in McCain's presidential acceptance speech
  • 19 Paragraphs were about kitchen table issues, (what the liberals were complaining about) jobs, health care, education
  • 11 Paragraphs were humbly told about his personal biography, his career, his time in a Vietnam Hanoi Hilton
  • 8 Paragraphs were about foreign policy
  • 6 Paragraphs about McCain being a "maverick reformer"
  • 6 Paragraphs about political bipartisanship (McCain better not compromised)
  • 6 Paragraphs were targeting Obama - with one paragraph praising him and five paragraphs dissing him.
  • 3 Paragraphs devoted to Palin
  • 8 Paragraphs saying hello, goodbye, thanks
McCain had the Republicans off their seats and jumping in an excitement! That's a good thing. Republicans are once again united with the goal of winning the White House this time with the Gipper smiling from heaven!
What Evil Liberals Do When Desperate
I'm nipping this in the bud right now. What do evil liberals say and do in their spare time? They photoshop to win maliciously and take people's good name and reputation away. Liberals will believe anything negative without checking the facts. That's burned me one time and never again. Before sending any email out - check out who sent it.
Email sent by a liberal to a conservative:
"An interesting photo of the person who may be one heartbeat away from the presidency."
Not a real picture but a photograph manipulated to denigrate the Vice President nominee.
What are the real pictures?
Independents More Likely To Vote For McCain After Palin Speech
In a study of self-reported Democrats, Independents, and Republicans, Vice President nominee Sarah Palin's speech to win over voters to a John McCain presidency was a success.
After viewing Palin's speech, a greater number of respondents across all parties believe that selecting Governor Sarah Palin for vice president will help John McCain's campaign. Republicans were especially positive about the implications of the pick, with nearly three-quarters reporting that nomination will "definitely help" his campaign. After viewing the speech, 70% Republicans indicated that they will "definitely" vote for the McCain/Palin ticket after viewing Palin's speech.
There is a positive change in how independents anticipated voting in the Presidential election after viewing Palin's speech, with a 9% increase among independents indicating that they will probably or definitely vote for the McCain/Palin ticket after watching the speech.
Palin's speech proved to be equally effective in increasing support among men and women. Among the independents who watched the speech, respondents who reported that they will "probably" or "definitely" vote for McCain increased by 10% across both genders, around 38% of female independents and 36% of their male counterparts.
The study was conducted by HCD Research and the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion with 1000 viewers before and after Palin's speech at the Republican National Convention.
MSM's Ignore America Winning Iraq War
The United States of America has given back control of 13 out of 18 cities in Iraq back to the Iraq government including "victory in Anbar" just this week. General Petraeus predicts US military could be out of Iraq by next summer.
Overall, Gen Petraeus said Iraq was a “dramatically changed country” from when he assumed command in February 2007. He said attacks had plummeted from a daily rate of 180 in June 2007 to about 25 recently. He mused that “there is certainly a degree of hope that was not present 19 months ago”.
Gen Petraeus welcomed the increased capability of the Iraqi security forces and the fact that 70 per cent of Iraqi army battalions are now taking the lead in military operations. The US military passed a milestone when it this week handed over responsibility for the former bloody province of Anbar province to Iraqi security forces.
But he also urged caution, saying there were ”innumerable challenges out there still. Make no bones about it”. These include resolving the final status of oil-rich Kirkuk, key provincial elections, and remaining ethno-sectarian tensions. And while al-Qaeda was greatly diminished, he said, it still had the capability to deliver lethal attacks.
Military experts attribute the decline in violence to the surge, as well as to a ceasefire by Shia militias aligned with Moqtada al-Sadr, the firebrand cleric, and the emergence of “Sons of Iraq”, roughly 100,000 predominantly Sunnis who switched sides to fight with the US against al-Qaeda.
Investors Business Daily had more to add saying that the victory in Iraq was being purposely ignored by the drive by media.
We interrupt coverage of Bristol Palin's pregnancy to announce that the U.S. has turned over control of Iraq's wild, wild west to Baghdad. Memo to Barack Obama: Soon you will have nothing left to surrender.
On Monday, while Democrats waited to see if Hurricane Gustav would be another Katrina and the GOP juggled its convention schedule, U.S. commanders formally returned responsibility for security in Iraq's Anbar province to the Iraqi Army and police.
Maybe you missed it. The New York Times Web page had three stories on Bristol Palin. The Washington Post's online magazine, Slate, is running a "Name Bristol Palin's Baby" contest. And Us Weekly has "Babies, Lies and Scandal" on its cover.
Victory in Iraq can't compete in an environment where Bristol's boyfriend is more thoroughly investigated than Obama's lifelong association with Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers
[here and here].
The media prefer to ignore how wrong Obama was on the major foreign policy issue of the Bush years. He opposed the war and the surge. He supported cutting off funding. He sponsored a bill to have U.S. troops withdraw in defeat by March of this year, their sacrifice in vain. His policies would have led to a humanitarian and strategic disaster.
Supreme Court Judge Ginsberg Wants To Overturn Roe Vs. Wade
Speaking to the Veteran Feminists of America, Ruth Bader-Ginsberg, the most radical leftwing judge on the Supreme Court thinks that Roe vs Wade needs to be overturned and recast under the anti-slavery Constitutional rights.
"People tend to think that Roe v Wade has to be preserved at all costs. What has to be preserved is the right of a woman to have access to the means to control her own reproductive capacity,” she said.
The pro-abortion judge, who is thought to be one of the likely members of the high court to step down in the next few years because of health issues, also admitted that she wants to overturn the 1977 case that allowed the federal government to protect taxpayers from paying for abortions.
Thanks, Dave.
Obama's Diddly Squat Supporters Hate Palin
This is the future result of Obama's campaign. John McCain is buggin' Diddy out.
Diddy says regarding Sarah Palin, "You would let her keep your kids? For real? ...
I'm going to bring out millions out to the polls on Nov 4th, and make sure that... Alaska m%#^! f%#^!? What is the reality in Alaska? What is there's not even no crackheads in Alaska. . there's not even ... no black people, there's not even no... like... crime? Uh Like ... uh ... foreign policy. Ya'll may be roasting (?) on foreign policy. Ya'll need to get versed on black policy and youth policies. We're the future. John, you're buggin' the f%#^ out!
So is Diddy saying that all crackheads and crime is caused by the blacks and youth? Are all crackheads and criminals supporting Obama?
This is exactly what Obama will bring to the White House.
Sarah Palin's Outstanding Speech!
Wow. I was never prouder of women in politics and in civil service than I was tonight watching Sarah Palin pour her heart out. What an exciting, moving, emotional speech, John McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin gave to the Republican National Convention! Sarah Palin is an incredible and very credible Vice President for conservatives.
Unlike the crowds in the Democrat National Convention for the celebrity superstar Barack Obama, not only was I overwhelmed, the Republican attendees were out of the chairs most of the speech. They were in such frenzy, from the time she came out, the thunderous applause was nearly non-stop. The Republicans jumped up and down most of Sarah Palin's speech. Tears welled up in my eyes when Palin promised she would be an advocate for the special needs children in the White House and when she talked about Tom Moe and John McCain's torturous tenure in the Hanoi Hilton.
Not only did she endorse John McCain for the presidency brilliantly and graciously, she was eloquent, tough, and right on the mark with her attacks of the weakness of liberals Barack Obama and Joe Biden candidacy.
I am thrilled with her extraordinary poise, humor, and sincerity. While the Obama-loving media will report all the negatives, saying she did not write her speech. What candidate writes their acceptance speech? None. It's a campaign team effort. Tonight, Sarah Palin proved as a woman, she has the guts and the fortitude to be in charge of this United States of America.
My favorite Palin quotes tonight:
  • "To the families of special-needs children all across this country, I have a message: For years, you sought to make America a more welcoming place for your sons and daughters.I pledge to you that if we are elected, you will have a friend and advocate in the White House. "
  • "And since our opponents in this presidential election seem to look down on that experience, let me explain to them what the job involves. I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a "community organizer," except that you have actual responsibilities."
  • "We tend to prefer candidates who don't talk about us one way in Scranton and another way in San Francisco. "
  • "But we are expected to govern with integrity, good will, clear convictions, and ... a servant's heart. I pledge to all Americans that I will carry myself in this spirit as vice president of the United States. "
  • "But listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform - not even in the state senate. This is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting, and never use the word "victory" except when he's talking about his own campaign."
  • "But when the cloud of rhetoric has passed ... when the roar of the crowd fades away ... when the stadium lights go out, and those Styrofoam Greek columns are hauled back to some studio lot - what exactly is our opponent's plan? What does he actually seek to accomplish, after he's done turning back the waters and healing the planet? "
  • "In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change."
  • "They're the ones whose names appear on laws and landmark reforms, not just on buttons and banners, or on self-designed presidential seals. "
Tonight for the second time in United States history, a woman has a credible chance of being in the White House. It won't be because of the liberal leftist feminists, nor the Democrat campaign machine, but because conservatives and Republicans are supporting a woman!
More Holes In Swiss Heads Than Cheese
In a lulu second phase of legislation where people don't count as much as plants and now, animals, Swiss lawmakers have now passed animal protection rights to protect goldfish from being flushed down toilets. Too inhumane.
Instead, a fish must be first knocked out and then killed before its body can be disposed of, the law stipulates.
The new legislation spells out in exhaustive detail how all domestic animals are to be treated, whether they be pets, farm animals or destined for scientific experiments.
Wild animals are also covered by the law if they reside in zoos or circuses.
Just like in George Orwell's satire "Animal Farm" however, some animals enjoy more "equal rights" than others.
Not only are goldfish now afforded a more "dignified" death than being dispatched round the U-bend, but it is now also forbidden for Swiss anglers to practise catch-and-release fishing or recreational catching only to throw the fish back in the water, or to use live fish as bait.
In the domestic sphere, common household pets such as budgies and hamsters can no longer be kept by themselves.
No Rest In Peace For Cardinal Newman
In the late 19th century, Cardinal John Newman, a Roman Catholic convert, was buried in the same grave with his friend, Ambrose St. John. Cardinal John Newman called living with Ambrose St. John "his life under God for thirty two years". The Worcestershire grave site of both men contains a dual memorial headstone that reads "Ex umbris et imaginibus in veritatem", which translates as "Out of shadows and phantasms into the truth".
Truth be damned. The light of judgement and homophobia is shining on Cardinal Newman as his body is exhumed and removed to a different location under the guise of beatification. Cardinal Newman's body is being moved into a sarchophagus that will remove him from the person he loved.
Pope John Paul II writes on the second century anniversary of Cardinal Newman's birth reflecting on Newman's "turbulence of the soul." Pope John Paul II puts a different spin on Newman's words, calling Christ his truth. As a simple person, I think his phrase "Out of shadows and phantasms into the truth" is so much more deeper and reflects Newman's pain about hiding his self, being with the omnicompassionate Christ now, who understands the true meaning of love. In the 12th century, another saint, possibly gay, St. Aelred of Rievaulx, Patron of Integrity wrote:
It is no small consolation in this life to have someone you can unite with you in an intimate affection and the embrace of a holy love, someone in whom your spirit can rest, to whom you can pour out your soul, to whose pleasant exchanges, as to soothing songs, you can fly in sorrow... with whose spiritual kisses, as with remedial salves, you may draw out all the weariness of your restless anxieties. A man who can shed tears with you in your worries, be happy with you when things go well, search out with you the answers to your problems, whom with the ties of charity you can lead into the depths of your heart; . . . where the sweetness of the Spirit flows between you, where you so join yourself and cleave to him that soul mingles with soul and two become one.
Not history revisionism just highlighting the need for open, honest, dialogue about the need for companionship. Loving someone is never wrong.
Five Women Buried Alive For Tradition
A Pakistani lawyer justified honor killings of five Baluch tribal women, because they wanted to select their own husbands, as acceptable. He told the Pakistani Parliament to quit making a fuss of it.
These are centuries-old traditions, and I will continue to defend them," Israr Ullah Zehri, who represents Baluchistan province, told The Associated Press Saturday.
"Only those who indulge in immoral acts should be afraid."
The women, three of whom were teenagers, were first shot and then thrown into a ditch. They were still breathing as mud was shoveled over their bodies, according to media reports, which said their only "crime" was that they wished to marry men of their own choosing.
Human rights groups have accused the Jaffrabad district in Pakistan of trying to keep the heinous crimes a secret.
This Solomon Lacks Wisdom
As someone who has been burned by reporters in interviews, I am skeptical of the following Q & A interview. Deborah Solomon, journalist and culture critic, and contributing writer for the New York Times, seems incredulous at the answers and idealogies of Louisiana governor, Bobby Jindal. She just can't believe someone with his education can be a conservative. The reporter's questions are bolded.
You oppose abortion and stem-cell research, and just this month, you declined to renew a bill prohibiting discrimination in the workplace. Do you see yourself as an archconservative? I am conservative. No doubt about it. But when you go back to what it means to be a conservative, I also think, as conservatives, we should believe in universal health care coverage.
Was that a rhetorical question, Deborah? She then asks Jindal how he got into his political career and where he went to college.
Where were you accepted? At Harvard.
Wow. Why would someone with so much knowledge of biology sign a bill allowing the biblical story of Creation to be taught in science class? I don’t think that schools should be run by bureaucrats. I think these decisions need to be made by local school boards. In terms of teaching my own kids at home, I do believe there is a Creator. Catholicism doesn’t teach authoritatively on evolution or the origins of life, but we do believe that God is our Creator.
So educated persons can't believe in Creationism? Jindal went to Harvard and he managed to slip through the cracks of the universities' communistic idealogies and become Catholic. You know that's got to piss liberals off.
When did you convert from Hinduism to Catholicism? I was baptized in college. It was after several years of prayer and reading and thinking about this.
What did your parents, immigrants from India, think when you converted? Their first reaction was skepticism. The first reaction was thinking, I wonder if this is a teenage phase. I wonder if he is doing this for a girl. I wonder if this is temporary.
If the Republican Party bills itself as the party of family values, what should we make of the fact that you rejected the name your parents gave you, their political affiliation and their religion? Hinduism teaches there are different paths to God, and that may have played a part in their ultimate acceptance of my decision.
By becoming Catholic, Jindal is rejecting his ethnicity, his culture, and his parents? I think Solomon's biased questioning has showcased Solomon's own anti-religious, anti-conservative agenda.
Did your wife convert from Hinduism as well? She did. For both
of us, we’re thrilled to be raising our kids in the Catholic faith. Our kids are very young, so we spend a lot of time in the cry room at church.
The children are crying, or the parents are crying? The children, the children. You can hear the services, but that way your kids aren’t disturbing people around you.
Deborah, why would the Jindals be crying in church? I can't help but feel that Solomon's confusion regarding cry rooms in churches shows that she hasn't been in a church much. Shouldn't someone with more knowledge of churches be given this assignment?
So was this the really entire interview? How much was reworked? Solomon has a reputation for manipulating interviews.
"...two prominent Solomon Q-and-A subjects—Ira Glass, the popular host of NPR’s “This American Life,” and Amy Dickinson, the nationally-syndicated advice columnist who replaced Ann Landers in 2003—the story became more complicated. Both Glass and Dickinson, without any prompting and in significant detail, told me that in the published versions of their interviews, Solomon had made up questions, after the fact, to match answers that, at least in one instance, she had taken out of their original context.
“[Solomon] rewrites her questions and then applies any question to any answer that a person says,” Glass told me in a tape-recorded telephone interview.
Both experienced journalists, Glass and Dickinson accused Solomon of violating basic ethical standards by making up dialogue never said during their conversations with her—conversations Solomon taped. Dickinson (in a tape-recorded telephone interview) described an exchange that she says “didn’t happen” during her interview, that she said Solomon put together using her quotes. Glass went even further; of one exchange, he said that “she never actually asked that question,” and added that Solomon “was changing context in a way that changed what I meant.” In Glass’s case, he told a fact-checker for the magazine about the distortion of the interview, in an attempt to have it corrected. “I made my case as forcefully as I knew how,” Glass said in an email to me last week, “but I guess he just disagreed with me.”
Can't the New York Times editors find a Catholic reporter to interview Catholics or at least ask that a reporter who will responsibly background research before rearranging their slanted interview?
Doesn't seem wise for the New York Times to allow Solomon to interview anybody. Conservatives and devout Christians beware.
Obama And Biden Quotes To Remember
Off the cuff humorous remarks are immediately attacked by liberal MSM's but when Democrats say them? The sound of silence.
  • "I love Joe, and one of the reasons I think he's going to be such an effective vice president is he's blunt when he's right and he's blunt when he's wrong," Obama told CBS's "60 Minutes" in an interview that aired Sunday. "I like who he is. And I think the American people will."
  • Biden quipped, "I ran for V.P. just so I could get ice cream."
  • "By the way, if I hear one more time that he was 11 years old when I went to the Senate, I'm going to smack somebody," Biden said to laughter, emphasizing Obama's age, 47.
Democrat analysts are quick to point out age and McCain's melanoma, but nobody mentions Biden's brain aneurysm 20 years ago.
Life Happens
UPDATE: Fox News reports that Obama was just asked about Palin's condition. Obama's statement said:
"This issue is off limits. It is not an issue. This campaign has nothing to do with spreading any of these rumors on the Internet and bringing it to light. If someone in his campaign is involved with spreading this rumor, they will be fired."
Obama's mother was 18 when Obama was born.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Associated Press is reporting that Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin has announced that her 17 year old unmarried daughter, Bristol, is pregnant. McCain's Vice Presidential nominee said that her daughter will be marrying the father of the child.

Senator John McCain did know about the pregnancy before his selection of Gov. Sarah Palin and knew it would not be a problem.

The Kos and Huffington crowd will point out that pregnancies would never happen in the Obama/Biden families. No doubt. The only thing that liberals will vehemently be upset about is that Bristol Palin will now be punished for life with this baby.

Congratulations, Palin family on the new addition. You've been blessed with a child.

Liberal Female MSM's Froth At Palin Choice

Liberal female journalists and MSM consultants are scraping the bottom of their hate to tell the world how horrible is the McCain's selection of Palin, an attractive, intelligent, and politically successful, conservative governor.

Newsbusters has two leftist mouthpieces in their own words, frothing on the lipstick over Sarah Palin, Republican's historic choice for Vice President.

NBC's Andrea Mitchell informs her audience that only uneducated women will vote for Palin.
"Well, they think now that they have a story. They have a story of a working mom, she is a colorful character, an Annie Oakley... you know, Annie get your gun. They love her story, but when she tried to talk about Hillary Clinton in Pennsylvania, in western Pennsylvania, yesterday at a rally with conservative Republican voters, Hillary Clinton was booed. So, she can use the Hillary Clinton and Geraldine Ferraro analogy if she wants to in interviews, she cannot use that at Republican rallies.

She is not appealing to the same women who were really voting or supporting Hillary Clinton on ideological issues but they think that they can peel off some of these working class women, not college educated, who, the blue collar women who were voting for Hillary Clinton and may be more conservative on social causes. "

There's a threat for you. If you vote for Palin, you're uneducated. Heck,I get it! That makes sense! If I don't vote for McCain/Palin, I will be smarter!

Mitchell's reference to the Hillary-booing was a orgasmic dream only in Mitchell's mind. Republicans weren't booing Sarah Palin for acknowledging Hillary Clinton. Republican attendees were booing Hillary Clinton. Conservatives will boo Hillary Clinton anywhere, anytime, at any function, Republican National Convention, fundraisers, or townhall meeting. Sarah Palin was sincere and gracious in her mention of both predecessors. I doubt that Palin will be mentioning them in the future on her own accord. Now will she be asked by detrimental questions by MSM's in Obama's pocket? Of course! The MSM's only thoughts right now are getting Obama elected, not fair and balanced reporting.

Then Newsbusters has on tape the McLaughlin Group show, with Obama-loving Newsweek's Eleanor Clift snide derision of Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin has having newsrooms all over America laughing at the choice.

ELEANOR CLIFT: This is not a serious choice. It makes it look like a made for TV movie. If the media reaction is anything, it's been literally laughter in many places across news-

JOHN McLAUGHLIN, TALKING OVER CLIFT: Where is that? See that?

CLIFT: In very, very many newsrooms.

You mean the liberal, anti-conservative MSM's, Eleanor? Middle class America isn't laughing. Just liberal MSM's. So much for unbiased reporting and why Newsweek, New York Times, Washington Post, NBC, MSNBC, CBS, and even PBS, are losing readers and viewers in shocking numbers.

Women are their own worst enemies. Andrea Mitchell and Eleanor Clift are nothing but partisan Patsies. There are reasons that women at each other throats are referred to as catfights.

More from Democrat cheerleader, Andrea Mitchell here and here and here.

In 2006, Eleanor Clift cheers the return of Al Gore to the Democrat Presidential race.

Russian Jet Training Missions Spur NATO Alert

Russian Tu-95 "Bear" and Tu-160 "Blackjack" bombers on military flight missions skirting Norwegian borders have NATO on cautious alert. The significance of seeing increased Russian bombers in international air space means that Putin is serious about strengthening strategic bombing preparations.
At the Bodoe airbase, above the Arctic circle, two F-16s are always on call, ready to take off in less than 15 minutes for stand-offs with surprise visitors from Norway's eastern neighbour.

"We have noticed a clear rise in Russian aerial activity over the past year," said base air commander general Per Egil Rygg.

"This has given us a lot more to do," he added.

In 2006, Norwegian F-16s carried out 13 emergency take-offs to "identify", as the military jargon goes, 14 Russian planes.

A year later, the number of emergency take-offs leapt to 47, with a whopping 88 Russian planes "identified".

The increase appears to be largely due to a decision by then-president Vladimir Putin to relaunch strategic bomber flights "on a permanent basis".

This isn't the first time that Russia has spread its wings and taunted bordering countries. In 2006 and 2007, Russian jets flew close to British and Netherlands air space.

In February 2008, two Russian bombers were intercepted flying close to and escorted away from the U.S. Nimitz in the Western Pacific Ocean.

Over the last six years, NATO jets stopping Russian jets have increased. How does Alaskan Governor and Vice President candidate Sarah Palin figure into these foreign incursions? She has had to deal with Russian bombers in Alaskan air space four times [bolded below] over the last two years.

  • April 2002 — two Tu-95s flew within 37 miles of Alaska, were intercepted by two F-15s.
  • January 2004 — a Tu-95a flew over the USS Kitty Hawk in the Sea of Japan.
  • September 2006 — NORAD scrambled Canadian CF-18s from CFB Cold Lake in Central Alberta and American F-15s out of an airbase in Alaska to intercept a number of the Russian Tu-95 Bear heavy bombers participating in an annual Russian air force exercise near the coast of Alaska and Canada.
  • May 2007 — the Royal Air Force scrambled two Tornado fighters from RAF Leuchars in Scotland to intercept a Tu-95 observing the Royal Navy exercise Neptune Warrior.
  • July 2007 — two Royal Norwegian Air Force F-16s (from Bodø, Norway) and subsequently two RAF Tornados (from RAF Leeming, England) intercepted two Tu-95s as they made their way down the Norwegian coast towards Scotland.
  • August 2007 — two Tu-95s flew towards the U.S. base on Guam, were intercepted by U.S. fighter planes.
  • August 2007 — two RAF Typhoons were launched to intercept a Tu-95 that had veered towards British airspace over the North Sea. The Tu-95 later turned away.
  • September 2007 — six Russian bombers were intercepted by six F-15s from Elmendorf Air Force Base, 50 miles from the northwest coast of Alaska.
  • September 2007 — Two Norwegian F-16s tracked eight Tu-95s over the Barents Sea as they neared Norwegian airspace. The bombers flew past Norway and continued towards British airspace where four RAF Tornados were scrambled from RAF Leeming before the Russian planes turned away. It was the same day that Canadian Forces’ CF-18s were scrambled to escort Russian Tu-95s outside Canadian airspace near Inuvik, Northwest Territories.
  • November 2007 — F-22A Raptors performed their first intercept of two Russian Tu-95s in Alaska.
  • February 2008 — 24 aircraft including F-15 Eagles and an E-767 AWAC from the Japanese air force scrambled and gave “a notice, then a warning and another a notice and a warning,” as a Russian Tu-95 violated the country’s airspace during a three-minute flyover of Sofugan in the Izu Islands. Japan formally issued a strong protest, demanded prevention of future incidents and presented a protest note to the Russian Embassy in Tokyo. Russian officials conversely stated that four Tupolev Tu-95 bombers completed a 10-hour mission over the Pacific on Saturday, but “our strategic aviation planes did not violate Japanese airspace.”
  • February 2008 — in the Western Pacific, a Russian Tu-95 flew over the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz twice, at a low altitude of about 2,000 feet, while another bomber circled about 58 miles out. Four American F/A-18 fighters were scrambled to track the bombers.
  • March 2008 — Off the eastern coast of South Korea, a Russian Tu-95 flew over USS Nimitz and was intercepted by two F/A-18 Hornets at an altitude of 2,000 feet at a distance of about 3-5 miles. Four South Korean F-16s were also scrambled to intercept the bomber.
  • March 2008 — Off the coast of Alaska, Two U.S. Air Force F-15s escorted two Russian Bear long-range bombers out of an air exclusion zone.
  • April 2008 — Two Tu-95 bombers from Engels-2, along with two Il-78 refueling aircraft, were escorted by NATO Tornados and F-16s over the Atlantic.
  • May 2008 — Two Tu-95 bombers from Ukrainka air base conducted a 20 hour patrol over the Arctic Ocean, CF-18s intercepted them as the bombers headed towards the Alaskan airspace.

Dealing with Russian jets in Alaskan air space isn't the norm for small town mayors and governors. Sarah Palin's greatest asset is that Middle Class America can relate to her and Russian Prime Minister Vladmir Putin knows exactly who he would be dealing with in her role as Vice President, possible Presidential role. I'm sure our enemies are hoping that the Obama/Biden tag team wins.

Palin's Small Town Touch

Sarah Palin's governor's office with her bear rug

Hugh Hewitt has excellent insight into Palin's political career and how Obama and Biden pale in comparison. Obama's denigration of small town guns and Bible toting citizens, and the left's degrading of small town experience shows exactly how disconnected with Small Town, America they really are.
...Sarah Palin’s decade as a city council member and mayor of a small town, Wasilla, Alaska. Don’t underestimate the enormous benefit this provides the governor in the campaign and beyond as she takes up the duties of a vice president. Local government experience means an immersion in the real problems of real people as well as with a myriad of issues from the details of budgets for road maintenance and police and fire forces, to the land use issues I mentioned above, to parks and recreation and school construction issue issues.

It also means appearing at thousands of the events that define small town life, from the Rotary to the start of the local fund-raising 5K, and the hiring and firing of staff that has to make the traffic lights work and oversee the trash collection.

And mostly it means being able to connect with people who look to the local government to get the big things in small towns right.

Sitting on a dais week after week and listening to public comments and presentations from staff is the least glamorous of all elected offices, but very central to the functioning of the republic. Hundreds of thousands of Americans serve in these all-but-voluntary jobs and do so out of a sense of public spiritedness. Of course there are knuckleheads among the local electeds, and I have encountered many of them.

But by a very large measure these mayors, council members and commissioners are genuine public servants –and they get very smart, very fast about the communities they serve and the real successes and failures that define American life, whether in Wasilla, Alaska or Dearborn, Michigan or Sharon, PA.

Hewitt continues with Governor Palin's critical executive government experience.

The political and media elites have been laughing at Sarah Palin’s “small town” years. But every mayor and council member she meets over the next two months will have a bond with her that no one else on the national tickets can match.

Most commentators have figured out or soon will with the help of Beldar [See full link below] that she really, really knows the energy issue, and to a nation stunned by the sudden shock to their household budgets brought about by 30 years of indifference to new exploration, this will be a huge advantage. But so will be her experience with federal Endangered Species Act, which has been and remains central to my law practice and which interests very few other than those impacted by it.

In many key states --Colorado, New Mexico, Florida, Washington and Oregon to name just five-- the “ESA” has had devastating impacts on many industries and communities. When Sarah Palin led her state into federal court to challenge the absurd listing of the polar bear as a “threatened species” because of predictions about what might happen to the bears if what might happen to polar ice actually did happen, she took a stand that will trigger sustained applause in places and among people who are actually familiar with the workings of this extraordinarily onerous statute. As an avid outdoorswoman and conservationist, she has zero fear of environmental activists jeering about her indifference to nature. Her passion for the great outdoors will reawaken the TR tradition in the GOP and combine it with an experience in federal bureaucratic meddling with state and local governance that will put inside the Beltway a true property rights’ advocate. I haven’t seen reference yet to any specific experience with the Clean Water Act, NEPA or the Clean Air Act, but her familiarity with the federal hidden hand –the BLM, the USFWS, the ACOE—will be extremely useful as she campaigns across the country in communities hard hit by the expansion of federal regulation far beyond its intended and many believe constitutional limits.
Read Hugh's entire column on Palin's beliefs on our Constitution and pro-life issues. Small town America is going to love Sarah Palin when she gets through shaking their hands. Then she'll head to Washington and shake things up there.

Mercutio asks: "Is Sarah Palin Ready?"

Beldar has the facts on Sarah Palin's experience and how it blows the Dem ticket away with their ignorance. Must Read! Beldar not only tackles the Democrats but Biden's wan resume experience as a blowhard. Joe Biden is the one of the worst candidates we have had campaign for office because we do have so much evidence of his political ineffectiveness.
