Californian Democrats Meltdown With Global Warming Agenda

Rush Limbaugh, always on the job of protecting the United States from the Democrat left wing anti-Bush hatriots. Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid (D-NV) lost control of himself when he announced that the San Diego fires were the result of global warming.

“One reason why we have the fires in California is global warming,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters Tuesday, stressing the need to pass the Democrats’ comprehensive energy package.

When asked by a reporter to confirm that he said that global warming was causing the devastating fires, Reid said that he didn't say that. Rush has the tape of Reid's 6 minute memory lapse.

RUSH: This was at a press conference yesterday about global warming and the fires in California. He has his big energy bill coming up, and he's trying to get it passed, and listen to what he said.

REID: One reason that we have the fires burning in Southern California is global warming. One reason the Colorado basin is going dry is because of global warming.

RUSH: There is a blatant attempt to politicize this, and people don't want to hear this right now, and everybody, "What, global warming responsible for fires?" We have fires every year. We have fires every decade. We had fires on this planet for as long as the planet's been around, lightning strikes, who knows how these fires were started. But it's a tinderbox out there. If we want to start assigning political blame, we can do that, but now is not the time. But then later on, about six minutes later, a reporter said to him:

p>REPORTER: You said that the reason the fires are burning in California is global warming.

REID: No. Here's -- here's what... I didn't say the reason the fires were burning in Southern California is global warming.

RUSH: He said it and then he denied it in a period of six minutes.

Global warming did not cause this fire, ARSON caused this fire and the Santa Ana Winds aka Mother Nature is making it difficult to extinguish.

CBS News didn't douse Reid with cold water over his rapid flipflopping lapse of memory.

...a task force of agencies, including the FBI, ATF, the Orange County Fire Authority and the California Department of Forestry will announce shortly that the massive Santiago Canyon Fire - which has caused an estimated $10 million in damage - is being officially declared an arson, and a $50,000 reward is being offered to find the arsonist.

Investigators have identified two separate "points of origin" where they believe the fire was set, CBS News has learned. FBI agents secured the scene to "maintain its integrity."
